<div>Hello I’m Janelle from Florida…Hurricane Melissa, a Category 5 storm, has caused catastrophic destruction across the South Coast of Jamaica. My parents live in the community of Whitehouse which has been especially hard hit — many many families, friends, and locals are among those deeply affected. They are currently without water, limited power, and facing severe structural damages to homes, buildings, and businesses. Every contribution, no matter the size, will go to recovery efforts in that area to help to rebuild their lives.

<div>Together we will a make a difference. Thank you for your support.

Donate to Restore Whitehouse Jamaica After Hurricane

In a time where unemployment rates are at an all time high around the globe, I am compelled to start a fundraiser for one of the kindest people you could ever meet. His name is Delroy and he lives in Jamaica. He has experienced many misfortunes in life and he is struggling to make ends meet since his car (1996 model) that he was using for taxi service went dead a year ago.

He is currently working as an assistant at a construction site and was recently told that business is slowing down due to the inflated cost of building materials. That being said, he will be out of a job soon.

When asked if he was okay Delroy’s response was “ No, I am not ok, I am suffering, it’s very hard to make ends meet”. He expressed that he wishes that he had an education and vows that he will ensure that his children are educated in hopes of them escaping poverty so that they do not end up in his situation living from paycheck to paycheck.

Purchasing a safe vehicle to get back to taxi driving will prevent Delroy from unemployment and will offer financial stability for his family of five. The ideal car for this location is a Toyota Probox with low mileage.

Anything you can contribute to help Delroy reach his goal would be greatly appreciated.

Please help Delroy to provide for his family

Please help us raise much needed funds for the St. Thomas Aquinas Preparatory School in Wiaga, Ghana.  Thomas Awiapo, a resident of Wiaga, knew first-hand the value of education as a means to be liberated from the cycle of poverty and hunger. Thomas was orphaned as a child, and lost two brothers to hunger.  He has experienced poverty and hunger in its worst forms and his own life was saved by a school that was founded by Catholic Relief Services. . .  Today, Thomas, his wife, and his four children do not know what it means to be hungry and are excelling in life simply because some good Samaritans sponsored his education and hence broke the chains of poverty and hunger that held him hostage. Education is the key to the transformation of the lives of individuals, families and communities and this gives context to Thomas' dream... In 2017, Thomas achieved his life long goal and opened the St. Thomas Aquinas Preparatory school in his hometown of Wiaga. The school has resulted in the transformation of the entire village and nearby communities! The school only began with 17 students and today there are over 280 students. The collected funds will go to meet the school's most pressing current needs which includes: *A medium bus for transportation. For now the school is using using motor tricycles but they can only load a few children at a time. *A computer lab for practical IT lessons, reading library to encourage and promote reading, and a science lab to encourage the study of science. * In addition, the school needs more classroom space as the student population is growing faster than expected *Scholarships for local students.  Background on the Needs of Wiaga: Wiaga is a sizable village located in the Bulsa North District in the upper east part of Ghana, an area comprised of 15 sub-villages or sub-sections. The population of Wiaga is estimated to be 6,000-7,000. The adult population is a little over 3,000 and 90% are illiterate and do not receive a pay check at the end of the month. For most families, farming is the main means of livelihood and about 99% of the population is engaged in subsistence farming (crop and animal) for survival. In addition, most local families live in straw or aluminium huts with no electricity and no running water. In as much as parents and families have become conscious of the liberating power of education and desire to educate their children, the biggest challenge they face is lack of access to quality and affordable education in such a rural and deprived environment. It is heartbreaking to know that there are some communities in Wiaga where children still sit under trees as their school. How can children succeed in education under such discouraging conditions? No wonder, educational failure is the order of the day in the village. Alarmingly, 80% of the children graduating from the existing elementary school in the village of Wiaga do not pass the test needed to matriculate to high school. This failure eliminates their chances to attend high school. They just get that one chance and 80% of them are losing that chance!  The St. Thomas Aquinas School is saving lives! Enrollment began for the first 3 grades in September 2017, with 17 children. St. Thomas Aquinas Preparatory School was chosen as the name. The target beneficiaries of the school are children of Wiaga, children of the health clinic staff posted to the village, and children of the surrounding villages within 5 miles of the school. The principle of scholarships is “need not creed”. The most vulnerable children are given special attention through fundraising and sponsorship for their tuition. But all parents contribute something towards their child’s education, as well as being involved in the PTA. Today, 280 children are thriving in 6 grades (K-5). There is also a preschool and nursery. Students are fed a full meal each day, and each family receives much-needed extra food at Christmas. Happily, an added benefit for the entire community is the involvement of the parents and villagers in the school, and enhancing the local economy by providing jobs (eg., sewing uniforms, construction, childcare. etc..)

Want to join us in making a difference? We are raising money to benefit the Foundation of Orthopedics and Complex Spine Inc (FOCOS), and any donation will help make an impact. The FOCOS mission is to provide access to optimum orthopedic care and improve the quality of life in Ghana and other countries continues. The cases that FOCOS treats are among some of the most severe in the world – many that no other team of surgeons would dare touch. The highest level of medical service is provided, comparable to any such orthopedic hospital in the world. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us. If you are in New Jersey, we will be having an outdoor socially distanced event to raise further funds to change the lives of children in West Africa with life-threatening spinal conditions.  Local Board Members Peter Akwaboah, Yaw Asamoah and John Westfall-Kwong will match up to $10,000 of funds raised for this event. The outdoor event will be at a private residence in Short Hills, NJ (address provided to all attending contributors) on September 12th from 4 to 7 pm.    Participant = $50 gift ($100 for families) Supporter = $150 Partner = $250 Host = $500 Event Sponsor = $1,000 Premier Sponsor = $2,500 Host Sponsor = $5,000 Surgery Sponsor = $12,000+ gift Host Committee (in formation):  Peter &amp; Sylvia Akwaboah, Nana Anan, Yaw Asamoah,  Ekene Ezulike, Graeme McElroy, Jon Lamkin, John &amp; Simon Westfall-Kwong, and Bernardine Wu Sponsored by Guaranteed Rate, Simon Westfall-Kwong Real Estate Group of Keller Williams, Lisa Opoku Busumbru, Peter &amp; Sylvia Akwaboah, Yaw Asamoah, Graeme McElroy, and Nana Annan.   ============ COVID has had an adverse impact on the children at FOCOS Orthopedic Hospital through loss of critical funding and our ability to provide more necessary surgeries.  If you are able, our children need your support today in order to receive life-transforming surgeries. FOCOS has made the difficult decision to cancel all of our indoor flagship events for 2020. These events bring in approximately 70-80% of our annual funding and the funds are critical for us to continue our mission in providing access to optimum orthopedic care and improving the quality of life in Ghana and other countries. We know that this is a challenging time and there are many unknowns, but our patients do not have the luxury of waiting for the unknown. They need your help and support, even now. Through relentless efforts and the generous contributions from major private donors around the world, our program transformed from outreach into a permanent fixture in Ghana, with the building and opening of FOCOS Orthopedic Hospital in 2012, serving not only the local community, but patients from across the globe. As our waiting list of pediatric patients increases, we can’t perform critical surgeries with your much-needed support. As you know, our patients are some of the most vulnerable. They face the challenge of life-threatening conditions and still need our help.   Even in these most trying times, we remain committed to providing musculoskeletal care in an underserved part of the world.   Together we will make the world stand tall!

My name is Sandra and I am a nurse. This is my second run in with breast cancer.  In 2011 and then last year. Only this time I am at stage 4 . I already had brain surgery and is on chemotherapy everyday. Chemo was working at first then it stopped. With just a few options let I decided to try the IMMUNITY TREATMENT CENTER in Tijuana Mexico. The treatment is not covered by my insurance and the cost is expensive. The cost for treatment is $19,000 plus the cost of rent and airfare. I really need help with this because I have not worked since last year and have used up all my savings.

Thank You All So Much. God Blessings
