<div>Kseniia's story (in brief): Kseniia fled persecution in Russia for protesting (without destruction or violence) the war in Ukraine. As a talented computer scientist, she was hired to work for Harvard Medical School and came to the US on a work visa. She has worked hard and lived in the US for over two years now. Coming back from a trip in France, she had her visa revoked and stated she was afraid to be sent back to Russia. At that point, she was taken to an ICE detention center. We are awaiting her parole, but she has been detained since Feb 16. There are a lot of uncertainties here, but one thing is sure, she is supported in applying for a new visa. However, that is a multi-month process during which she will not be able to work thus not collect a paycheck. In the meantime, we are hoping to cover her monthly expenses (rent, groceries, utilities, etc.) and some anticipated legal expenses. (Currently the benefactor is set as her trusted roommate, friend and colleague since we do not have access to her bank information at this time. However all of the donations will go to her once she is able to access them.) <div>Mitzy was born on March 18, 1997 to Mirian and Walter Coba. She grew up between Temecula, California in the United States and Bell Ville, Córdoba in Argentina. Mitzy is the younger sister to Phil Coba, the older sister to Kevin Coba, and the aunt to Milo Coba. She graduated from Chaparral High School in 2015. Mitzy was truly a free spirit and spent the years after high school finding out what she liked most. She worked in the auto industry, as a crossing guard for elementary schools, went to school for phlebotomy, and was really talented and expressive with her many fun hair colors that she often did herself. Any spare time that she had, she spent with her beloved and loyal dog, Obi, who she took with her everywhere regardless of if dogs were allowed or not. Mitzy may have come off as shy to some but to those who know her best, she is remembered for her sense of humor, her love of music, making those around her feel accepted and included, her carefree spirit, and joyous nature.

<div>Mitzy passed away on April 25, 2024 at her home. At this time, we are asking for privacy and time to process all that has happened. Fundraising for Jany Mitzy Coba's Funeral

<div>This is a Go Fund Me, for our dear uncle Faisal Moid, a young father of three, battling Central Nervous System Large B-Cell (Brain) Lymphoma.

<div>Faisal had always been a real-life superhero, working 12 hours 7 days a week and raising a family. He was not only an amazing husband but a great father, brother, uncle, son, and great friend to all those around him.
</div>

</div>
<div>In early 2022, Faisal started to show some symptoms like nausea, vomiting and seizures which indicated there was something wrong. He was rushed to the hospital where they diagnosed him with Encephalitis or brain inflammation. He was kept at the hospital and then transferred to a rehabilitation center to assist him further. 
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>However, things started to get out of hand and further tests were needed. After a discussion with the panel of doctors, he was moved to another hospital. They completed a brain biopsy, from which it was confirmed that he has CNS Large B- Cell (Brain) Lymphoma. During this entire process, he was placed on the ventilator as he wasn’t breathing well on his own and suffered from pneumonia many times. Eventually required placement of Tracheostomy, which is a tube in the tracheae and a stomach tube called percutaneous gastrostomy for him to stay on the ventilator for an extended period. This also provided him with nutrition via a stomach tube as he is unable to swallow food on his own.

<div>The medical team discussed the future of his health and life with his family. It was suggested to start systemic chemotherapy consisting of three drugs including high-dose methotrexate following a specific protocol for the treatment of his Central Nervous system large b-cell lymphoma. 
</div>

</div>
<div>So far, he has received 4 cycles of chemotherapy with breaks in between. There were days when he wouldn’t open his eyes at all 
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>CNS Large B-Cell Lymphoma is a very rare condition, it carries a grim prognosis if left untreated. The past 8 months have been especially challenging for Faisal and his family, as they have been dealing with Faisal’s Cancer treatment and the big change in their life. 
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>His kids are very young and extremely close to their father. His family is utterly devastated and depressed, however, they haven’t given up hope. Faisal has no idea of where he is, and who he is. He is showing signs that he wants to fight cancer and be there for his family.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Faisal’s panel of doctors has suggested a treatment plan, which has shown improvement in other patients with the same diagnosis. Unfortunately, this treatment will take time and his body's reaction to the treatment will confirm what the next steps would be. His treatment is not fully covered by health insurance as he was self-employed. He is still in the hospital at the University of Pennsylvania, today is day #68, and he has started to show some signs of improvement with the chemotherapy. He will be ready for the transition from the Hospital to the Rehabilitation center. He would continue to require admission back to the hospital from time to time to receive his cycles of chemo. For the foreseeable period, which can range from 6 months to a year. The insurance plan only covers a certain portion of his medical and rehabilitation and once Faisal is in a condition to be moved back to his home, the medical and rehab wouldn’t be covered by the insurance plan anymore.

<div>He has a long road to recovery, and once he can go home, rehab and medical team visits are necessary.

<div>Faisal, being a self-employed contractor, has not been able to work ever since his first admission to the hospital in early 2022. His wife has been trying her best to do a full-time job to maintain their finances. When she should be looking after her husband, she has been working 40 hours a week to make ends meet. His two older kids have been working 10 hours per week to assist their mother. They don’t have any government assistance. Due to their financial challenges, they need all the help they can get for now and for his future treatments.

Support Faisal in his fight with cancer

<div><em>Hi, on Friday, December 16, 2022, my father, Jimmy Lindsey was viciously and traumatically attacked by two dogs in his front yard. It was over 30 minutes before the first responders arrived to get the dogs off of him. My father endured this traumatizing attack for over 30 minutes as he did his best to protect himself. He was taken to a downtown hospital where it was determined by a CT SCAN that he had severed arteries. My father was then airlifted to a 1st Level Trauma hospital in Riverside for emergency surgery to save his hands. While in Riverside, he was admitted into ICU, and received another surgery, this time to repair open wounds to his limbs. My father was then transferred to Kaiser in Los Angeles where he remains today. My father has received "5" surgeries, thus far, to repair and save his limbs.</em>

<div><em>"﻿Gramps", as we call him, will have to undergo additional surgeries and has been told his recovery will be well over a year. He will need around-the-clock care during this time and will need upgraded fencing to ensure his security and safety when he can return home. Gramps does not have use of his arms or hands, nor is he able to walk. My father, Gramps will not be able to care for himself for a very long time. In addition, he will need bathroom modifications to accommodate his lack of mobility. Gramps and the Lindsey family will need extensive trauma therapy as a result of this attack.</em>

Remy is currently in patient in Illinois waiting to be sent to Chicago to a specialty clinic for what he has going on. Remy has several genetic disorders (sorry kid) contributing to this happening. <div>For those of you who know me, I am very stubborn and never like to ask for help. These last few years have been very difficult in terms of health. Transplant failed, I’m back on dialysis, working full time trying to help College Students achieve their goals. Not many of you know I had an infection that kept spreading, and after multiple amputations, I lost my right leg. I have been going through physical therapy and learning how to walk. The problem that came up is that I need to get a vehicle that I could roll into and transfer into the driver's seat. I need to be able to get to work safely and in a timely manner. I have been taking Metropolitian Public Transit (MTS) to get to work, go to dialysis, go to medical appointments, and go home. It takes about 3 hours each trip but I am thankful for MTS to assist while I have not been able to get around by myself. So I need a big enough vehicle to fit me and my wheelchair. I have found a few different options, but I never knew how expensive they are to convert a car to be handicap accessible. As of now, it is about $120 000 for a regular van to be converted with a proper ramp and a transfer seat that will allow me to drive. This is just the base model. I am hoping you can help me raise some funds to help pay for this vehicle and the Insurance. My goal is to raise $150 000. I need to sell my 2016 Nissan Altima, and 2004 Toyota Tundra which will help and go towards the cost of the new handicap vehicle if anyone is interested in the Altima or Tundra please let me know.

<div>Mayank Dubey was healthy, driven, and cheerful before his accident. He is a son, brother, and friend to all. Mayank was known as a person who respected you and made you feel valued. He has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from back home, India, and then came to the U.S. to pursue the American dream. He obtained his master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Post-graduation, he moved to Arizona to pursue a job opportunity to start his professional career. As a mechanical engineer, he works in a fast-paced environment which requires him to be agile and make important decisions. He had just begun a new job as a mechanical engineer for a company that would be a stepping stone in his career.

<div>But on Monday, September 26, 2022, Mayank went to a chiropractor for everyday aches and pain. Immediately after the chiropractor adjusted his neck, the neck adjustment caused him a stroke. Immediate symptoms occurred, such as facial paralysis on half of his face, loss of bodily strength which caused him to lean over to one side, double-vision, eyes looking out to opposite directions, and he could not stand up or hold himself up in the sitting position. From the chiropractor’s office, he was rushed to the Emergency Room via ambulance with a neck brace.

</div>
<div>At the hospital, his stroke was confirmed – the chiropractor severed Mayank’s artery in the lower brain stem. The dissection of his artery caused him to be placed in the Trauma-Neuro ICU. The next day, his heart stopped, and he was down for 5 minutes. Doctors used CPR and the defibrillator on him. Once they revived him, they intubated him because he couldn’t breathe on his own, had pneumonia, and had mucus build-up that was causing congestion. Mayank remained sedated for a few days, intubated and breathing through a ventilator.

<div>Over a week later, he remains in critical condition in the Trauma-Neuro ICU. He has been extubated, but his health continues to fluctuate: oxygen levels, high blood pressure, anxiety, chest/lung issues, and increased heart rate. He has had numerous tests such as CAT scans, neuro tests, speech tests (because his voice isn’t wholly audible), swallowing tests, urine tests, and eye tests – but they cannot figure out what else the stroke may have caused.

<div>Mayank is also struggling mentally as his immediate family (mom, dad, and sister) reside in India and are trying to obtain emergency Visas to visit and take care of him. Friends and cousins have looked after him. To make matters worse, Mayank did not have health insurance as he was transitioning from his old job to the new one.

<div>Although we do not know when he'll be discharged from the hospital, the doctors said he would need to adjust his lifestyle post-stroke. He will require constant therapy for months, such as speech, occupational, and physical therapy. He will need multiple doctor visits for health checks. Before this accident caused by the chiropractor, he was a healthy person, but he will leave that appointment with an adjusted lifestyle.

Mayank Dubey's Medical Expenses - Stroke

<div>On September 30th 2022, seventeen-year-old Joey Henderson went to work at May’s Greenhouse in Bloomington Indiana. Shortly after arriving at work there was a terrible multi-vehicle accident on Old State Road 37 next to the greenhouse. This accident resulted in a dump truck swerving off the road and running over Joey, who was on a John Deer gator. The impact was so forceful that it pushed Joey and the gator through a building wall, pinning him under the dump truck.

<div>Joey’s injuries are numerous. He has a broken back, several broken ribs, collapsed lung, a perforated bladder, kidney damage, liver damage, broken bones in his leg and foot, a shattered pelvis and his spleen has had to be completely removed. Joey has had three surgeries, and there will be at least three more to come.

<div>My name is Michelle Clendening and I am Joey's mother. Since this tragedy, Joey's father and I have been living every moment one-minute to the next. Much of this has been touch and go. Joey is a fighter and has overcome so much, but there is still a long road ahead and He is still not out of the woods yet. As such, Joey is all that we can think about right now as we stay by his side. All our time is spent in the hospital, either with Joey or waiting through his many-hours-long surgeries.

<div>This means, that Joey's father and I are out on FMLA and will be for a long time so that we can be with and focus on our son. <div>The Pachamama Project is a not for profit set up over lockdown growing a network of volunteers around the UK to make and distribute reusable sanitary pads to refugees around the world.

<div>500 million women around the world experience period poverty and are unable to afford or access sanitary products. This often leads to the use of rags, socks or tissue which are ineffective and can cause infections.
</div>
<div>We are currently distributing the Pacha Pads, as they are known to refugees in Greece, Lebanon, Turkey, the US, the UK and Uganda. We have over 1000 volunteers around the world in 9 countries.
</div>
<div>Other projects involve mass collections of donations of adult and children’s clothes, blankets, and toys which we send to the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon and we run and support Pacha clubs in Lebanon and Greece, where refugee women make their own pads and sell them to gain some valuable business skills, extra income and increase the number of refugees we can supply to.

<div>We are determined to make sure that finding safe, sanitary products is not yet another challenge for refugees.

<div>Any money raised will go towards fabric supplies that cannot be donated and shipping and distribution costs, to get these reusable pads and donations to the people that need them the most.

Help TPP fight period poverty in refugee crises

Our last day for accepting donations will be Friday May 17th.<br /><br />What Happened?<br /><br /></strong>Today in Sri Lanka on April 21st Easter Sunday a state of emergency has been declared. Six simultaneous bombings have taken place in 3 churches( St Anthony's Shrine, Zion church and St.Sebastians) and 3 hotels( Cinnamon Grande, Shang-Ri La and Kingsbury). The bombings that took place at the churches were targeted towards people congregated for Easter Sunday. The hotel bombings have targeted tourists and foreigners on travels.<br /><br />Update: The Eighth Bomb has taken place after the six simultaneous ones earlier. The s seventh bombing targeted Dehiwala Zoo while the eighth one took place at a locals home.<br /><br />The reported casualties are currently 290 deaths and 500 injured.<br /><br /><strong>Who am I?<br /><br /></strong>My name is Ishini Weerasinghe, I lived in Sri Lanka till I was 8 and then moved to Canada where I currently reside. I remember being raised in the war torn country it was, I felt i didn't want history to repeat itself and decided to make a go fund me in the moment. When the tragic event took place I felt the urge to do something about it because it's the home I love and cherish, my heart yearns for my family and friends effected back home.
