<div>A young family in our community is fighting to stay together after the father was taken into immigration detention. Omar* is a loving partner and devoted dad, and his absence has left this family heartbroken, struggling, and at risk of being torn apart. Omar has been fighting his asylum case while detained at Farmville for months, with no idea of when he will be released.

<div>My nana, who I lovingly call mom, has been the backbone of our family and community my entire life. She’s a two-time cancer survivor—having bravely <em>beaten both breast and lung cancer</em>—<strong>but now she’s facing her hardest battle yet: brain cancer, with 7 tumors, in the front lobe both right and left sides.</strong>

<div>She will be <strong>undergoing 10 rounds of radiation</strong>, and this journey has left her unable to work or care for herself independently. She now requires daily help from family members for even the simplest needs and transportation to appointments.
