<div><strong>Frank, Bridget, and Maggie (along with cats Trudy, Junebug, and rescue dog Edna) were ordered to evacuate about an hour after the fire started and by the next day, everything was gone.</strong> We’re so grateful they’re safe, but they have a long road ahead to recovery. Funds will assist with needs that might not be fully covered by other sources of aid- Your help will allow us to address the many aspects of that recovery and support the McGraths through this crisis.

<div>Bridget has served her community as a special education teacher in the LA area for decades, helping families meet the unique needs of children with a wide array of disabilities with a compassionate and deft hand. As a comedy editor, Frank has entertained fans of Tacoma FD, The Tick, Children's Hospital, Arrested Development and Broken Lizard's "Quasi" over the years. Before the fire, he had already been severely impacted by last year’s entertainment industry strikes.

<div>Guests to their home were routinely treated to magic or acrobatic shows courtesy of their contagiously enthusiastic and creative 8-year-old daughter, Maggie. While going through the unimaginable, she has maintained incredible resilience and displayed the same indomitable spirit of her parents.

<div>Frank and Bridget poured so much love and effort into renovating their dream home, but the real magic was evident in how it brought people together. Whether planned (like the legendary "Franklight™ Theatres" outdoor movie screenings) or spontaneous, the McGrath's home was always open.

<div>My name is Olya. I am raising funds for little Elia.

<div>On April 11th 2023 Elia had been urgently admitted into Ronald Raegan UCLA medical center for immediate brain surgery.
</div>
<div>Absolutely unexpectedly it was discovered that Elia had a large tumor causing severe mass effect on the brainstem with complete effacement of the fourth ventricle and accompanying basal cisterns, with compression of the brainstem, 9 mm tonsillar herniation, and obstructive hydrocephalus, as well as a 1cm lipoma in hypothalamus/tuber cinereum.

<div>She was a regular, happy and bubbly girl and had no symptoms until few weeks prior to her surgery.
</div>
<div>Her health deteriorated rapidly since the mass presented itself.
</div>
<div>She was in critical condition when admitted for the urgent surgery.
</div>

</div>
<div>Elia had a 10 1/2 hr brain surgery.
</div>
<div>She had s/p right parietal burrhole for placement of EVD and suboccipital craniotomy, C1 laminectomy, telo-velar approach to resection of a large 4th ventricular brain tumor.
</div>
<div>Later she received the diagnosis of glioma/astrocytoma with genetic mutation, a very rare tumor, especially in children.
</div>

</div>
<div>During the surgery they’ve lost signal from Elia, her little body was giving up, and although the team was able to stabilize her, the surgery had to be stopped. The surgeon was able to only remove a portion of her tumor, about a half.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Her recovery has been a lot more challenging than anyone expected. She is not recovering as well as hoped for.
</div>
<div>Our hope was to sustain her body for the next few years so she is able to receive medical non-surgical treatment.
</div>
<div>However. recently Elia started to regress.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>There are currently no effective treatments in US for her diagnosis, but we have options in Europe.
</div>
<div>At this point time is going against us.
</div>
<div>We need to her Elia treatment within the next 1-2 months.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As a single mom of 7 I have done all I possibly could on my own.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Today, I am reaching out to all of you who are reading this page in hope that together we can make a miracle happen.

<div>An unexpected surgery and recovery is an incredible financial hit for anyone, but especially for a single mom.

<div>I cannot get Elia her treatment in time by myself.

<div>11 апреля 2023 года Элию экстренно госпитализировали в медицинский центр Рональда Рейгана UCLA для немедленной операции на мозге.

<div>Совершенно неожиданно было обнаружено, что у Элии большая опухоль, которая сильно давит на стволовую часть мозга, полностью закрывая четвертый желудочек и сопутствующие основные цистерны с сдавлением стволовой части мозга, 9 мм грыжей мозжечка и обструктивным гидроцефалом, а также 1 см липомой в гипоталамусе/тубере кинереуме.

<div>Она была обычной, счастливой и веселой девочкой и не имела никаких симптомов до буквально нескольких недель перед операцией.

<div>Она была в критическом состоянии, когда её госпитализировали для экстренной операции.

<div>У Элии была 10,5-часовая операция на мозге.
</div>
<div>Она прошла через правое теменное отверстие для установки EVD и подзатылочную краниотомию, ламинэктомию C1, тело-веларный доступ к резекции большой опухоли четвертого желудочка.

<div>Позже она получила диагноз глиомы с пилоидными особенностями, очень редкой опухоли, особенно у детей.

<div>On January 15th, our comrade Agustina had two devastating losses: her life partner, Erik Safewright, and her father-in-law, Gary, both passed away suddenly. Erik was a disabled revolutionary and an outdoorsman, and he loved Agustina and their two teenage children, Luna and Jero, with his whole heart. We’re sending big love to Agustina, Jero, and Luna as they endure this incredibly painful time.

COVID-19:  #RENTRELIEF For Families

#BlackLivesMatter-Los Angeles is the original chapter of the global movement built to challenge state-sanctioned violence against Black people and to vision and build a just and free society. Since 2013, BLM organizers have been doing work to disrupt systems of oppression and work vision and build the kind of world in which we want to live.. <br /><br />Our work includes non-violent direct action, policy work, movement building, strengthing alliances, community self care, and creative engagement.  We are not a direct service or charity organization. However, we are connected to, engage with, and provide as much support as possible to the families of those killed by law enforcement, many of whom have become members of BLMLA.<br /><br />Over the past 5 years, our membership has grown from 30 original members to thousands in 38 chapters around the globe, with Los Angeles remaining one of the largest, most active chapters.  As we continue to challenge the system, there are real costs involved.  We need your support for materials and supplies, travel, and facilities costs related to actions, meetings, and our ongoing work.  Please give what you can and encourage others to do the same.<br />#BlackLivesMatter

Black Lives Matter - Los Angeles

As most of you may know our dear friend, Tara Erickson, lost her mother this week.  Some of you may only know her from her crazy YouTube videos...#ThisIdiot, and others may know her as the amazing friend and human that she is.  <br /><br />Tara's mom, Adriana, lost her battle to MS and Lupus.  Two diseases she's been battling for many years.  She was an absolute fighter, as is the daughter she raised.  However, it's only Tara and her Aunt Nina now and we don't want them having to fund everything on their own.  We love her and want to help any way we can, and we think this is it.  <br /><br />We want to raise at LEAST $2,000 to help Tara with the costs of her funeral and any other expenses she might have to cover.  We haven't asked Tara about doing this, and we're NOT going to tell her until we hand over the money. <br /><br />PLEASE help us raise a few bucks to relieve some of the stress.   Her poor heart is broken, and money is the last thing we want her to worry about.  <br /><br />Thank you so much for your time, and please, even a $1 will help.<br /><br />Yours gratefully,<br />Lara, Nicci, Mallory, Mary and Jess
