Scott is my friend and someone I consider family. He’s a retired Veteran who has lived through a lot, and right now, he’s facing one of the toughest chapters of his life. After suffering his second heart attack, Scott is in the hospital, struggling not only with his health but also with financial hardship. Despite a lifetime of service and resilience, he’s barely getting by, relying on a few benefits and charity meals. Last year, he was homeless and hospitalized several times, and now, his situation has become even more urgent. Scott’s main concern is keeping a roof over his head. The stress of medical bills and daily necessities is overwhelming, and I worry about his ability to stay in a safe, comfortable place while he recovers. I am one of the few people in his life who can help, but my own resources are limited. That’s why I’m reaching out to our community—to give Scott the stability he needs and help him keep up with rent and essential expenses. Even though Scott would never ask for help himself, I know he would be deeply grateful for people coming together to support him, even if they don’t know him personally.
