 Our dear friend Cecilia is going through every parent’s worst nightmare. Over the weekend, her son was hit by a car and is currently in the hospital in critical condition from this heartbreaking and unexpected accident.

 Cecilia has not left his side. She has had to take a leave of absence from work so she can be there for her son and focus completely on his recovery. During a time when her only concern should be helping her child heal, the added financial stress can be overwhelming.

 There isn’t much we can do to take away the pain or uncertainty they’re facing, but we can pray, support them, and help ease some of the financial burden so Cecilia can focus on what matters most—being by her son’s side.

<div>Our sweet sweet baby boy Dominic gained his Angel wings today after fighting so hard and beating so many odds tragically his little body couldn't handle any more. He truly is such a brave and strong little boy and fought his hardest until the very end and him being the miracle baby that he is even in the end he held on just a little longer so that mommy and daddy could be with him and hold him in his final moment's and now he can find peace and spend enternity finally able to enjoy being a happy little kid again the way he deserves instead of being trapped in a hospital bed with a machine to help him breath and eat.

<div>Dominic is such a special sweet loving little boy who is so loved by many people and we want to give him the most special service we possibly can because he deserves that and so much more.
</div>

<div>Unfortunately his last few months on earth were something that no kid should ever have to go through but especially not him but we do really want to come together and really show him how much he is loved and how many people love him.
</div>

<div>Earlier this year Dominic and his sister and best friend AzMarie went to visit with their cousins and "aunt"in el Paso Texas they were some of the happiest little kids you could think of so sweet and loving. When they went it was supposed to be something so fun for them to spend time with their family do exciting things and make life long memories, we wanted our kids to fully enjoy every moment of their childhoods as much as possible. The photos and videos made it seem as though they were doing exactly that having fun and making memories, we video chat them and they would tell us the exciting things they did. On may 21 we went to bed excited to go pick them up the next morning we missed them so so much and couldn't wait to see them, on may 22nd we were woken up to one of the worst phone calls imaginable. Dominic was in the icu in very critical condition and we needed to get there as fast as we could we werent given details we had no idea what had even happened only that he was very very critical and we needed to hurry. We got there as fast as we could straight to the hospital where we spoke with a social worker as well as detectives with the crimes against children. After answering all their questions it was finally explained to us that AzMarie, Dominics sister was in the emergency department with minor injuries but that Dominic was intubated in the icu after having to be resuscitated multiple times. They told us thst they were brought in after a car incident where the car stopped suddenly but that his injuries were in no way consistent with, or even remotely possibly from the story given. AzMarie wasn't even in the car with them but her arms legs butt and ear were all bruised she also had very large bald spots where her hair had been ripped out she had a laceration on her ear that she at the time was insisting happened when she fell off the excercise machine. Dominic had suffered 4 cardiac arrests, a collapsed lung, a lacerated liver that had been bleeding internally for at least a week, multiple burns to his legs and 2 very large burns one on the back of his thigh and butt which extended to his private area, the other to his hand, and multiple blunt force traumas on both sides and the back of his head all at various stages of healing. It took multiple blood and plasma transfusions before he regained his normal color, he had a defibrillator attached to him for the first 3 days because of how unstable his heart was and how frequently he was coding, we were told 3 days in a row he wouldnt make it through the night but some how he did. They said the only reason they didnt have to remove part of his skull to relieve pressure was because it was multiple smaller bleeds spread out and not one big bleed like you would expect from a car incident. They did multiple brain death tests on him and each time he showed them he was still here fighting for his life he was given less than a half a percent chance of survival but he showed them he was a fighter. The hospital staff told us that this was the WORST case of child abuse they had ever personally seen come through their hospital, his injuries told a story of our sweet baby boy being tortured throughout his time there. Dominic fought so hard and went from being so close to death to being relatively stable given his injuries, his heart started to get stronger and so did his lungs but he had suffered a very significant brain injury partly from the blunt force traumas and partly from the partial loss of oxygen. We were in Texas for a month and throughout that time the story cane together piece by piece, AzMarie was able to tell us alot starting with her ear actually having been hurt when she had an accident and was slapped across the face so hard she hit her head on the door, she told us how tia would put their faces in the bed and hold them down when they were in trouble and that she would hit Dominics head against the floor and walls or hit him with a curtain rod when he would have an accident or cry. She told us that tia told them if they said anything to anybody she would kill their parents and then kill them also. We were also told by an ex boyfriend of the monster who hurt our babies that she called and told him that when he would have an accident she would make him sit on the toilet for hours till his legs went numb and make him eat his poop as punishment. One of the neighbors was able to look back through camera footage and see some of the things that went on like my daughter having a trash can thrown at her head after defending her brother. She told us that the night he was taken to the hospital she was woken up by his scream, a sound that she will never get out of her head. The things our kids went through, especially our sweet Dominic, are things you wouldnt even be able to imagine possible for anybody to do to a child and especially not someone who was supoosed tobe family someone our kids loved and looked up to. Not only did she hurt them so so badly but she made an ongoing effort to keep them there as long as she could and hide what was going on not only from us but from our entire family including friends who talked to the kids regularly as well. This monster planned this out and covered it up and when time was up and we were going to pick them up, she silenced the only person who could tell the full extent of the torture that went on just like she threatened him that she would. Its so hard to even think of what our sweet baby boy went through but he deserves to have his story be heard and be known and to bring awareness to the fact that you never know what can happen behind closed doors and even the people you think you know best, people you have known your entire life can actually be monsters in disguise. He deserves for the world to truly know just how BRAVE and STRONG he really is and just how hard he fought for his life.

<div>After a month in the ICU in texas he was stable enough to be transported home to Arizona, him and I were flown out on a little tiny plane with a specialty transport team and met by an ambulance at the airport where we were taken straight to an ICU room here in Tucson, he spent another month and a half at the Diamond children's hospital while everything was being arranged for his long term care needs and while his little body continued to recover. In august he was finally able to be discharged to a rehabilitational facility for children while we continued to get everything arranged for his transition home. He was hospitalized early September for an infection that had turned into sepsis but after treatment was discharged again just before his 5th birthday. It was such a blessing for him to turn 5 especially after being told theres no way he woulf make it even a week after being hospitalized in may, an entire hospital could not understand how he survived the extent of his injuries but on top of that to be stable enough to fly and continue to recover, so for him to reach his 5th birthday almost exactly 4months after being so critical was truly such a blessing but still so heart breaking. No child should ever have to celebrate their birthday trapped in a bed unable to smile or laugh or eat cake or enjoy his special day. By the end of that week he was back in the hospital because of another infection and being given another round of IV antibiotics he kept fighting and finished his meds and was again discharged back to the rehab place that was Wednesday, this morning Sunday he was rushed back in at around 640 still trying to fight an infection he fought so so hard but his little body couldnt take it any more, his little heart stopped and they started CPR and with the emergency meds they got his heart started again, we woke up to the second of the 2 worst calls imaginable telling us we needed to hurry and get to the hospital. While we were on the phone with one dr walking out the door another dr had called time of death at around 745 we rushed to the hospital to be with him when we got there the social worker told us that after we got off the phone, after they called time of death, unexplainably he regained a pulse it was weak but that his heart continued to beat. He held on long enough for us to get there and be with him because thats what a fighter he truly is. We held his hand as they were still doing cpr they out everything they had into it, 20 nurses/drs in and around the room they did everything they could for him but our sweet sweet baby boys little body couldn't take it any more. A tear rolled down his face and they stopped CPR we held his little hand and his little foot and told him how much we all love him and how proud we are of him and we held onto him as we watched his heart stop beating and him take his final small breath. Words cant say just how proud of him we are for being such a strong brave boy and fighting so so so hard and fighting for us to be able to be there with him in his last moments it kills me to lose him our sweet loving little Angel baby but at the very least he is no longer suffering and he can enjoy being a kid the way he deserves he can play and laugh and smile with his Mema up in heaven watching over us.

<div>After everything he has been through we just want to give him to most special funeral possible, he deserves that and so much more any donations are truly appreciated.

<div>Dominic had so much unconditional love to give and we want to show him just how many peoples lives he has touched, how much he is loved by so many. We want him to have a special celebration to celebrate his life and what an amazing kid he is, and to also celebrate his birthday with him the way he deserves.

Funeral expenses for Dominic

Desmond Collins, loving father, devoted husband, tragically passed away in a car accident. His family needs help with expenses for his services and burial.<br /><br />Desmond was a the best of family men, a father who cared for all his children, who all have his light in them, as well as a husband dedicated to being a foundation to his wife Viola.<br /><br />He was also a peaceful and humble soul with a smile on his face every moment. He made you feel like you've known him forever from a small conversation. <br /><br />With his death so sudden, Desmond's family is not in a position to pay for the burial he deserves. It is with his memory we are asking our community to help bury this wonderful person. <br /><br />Giving anything will be a blessing to his morning family, who miss their rock.
