One Month Later: A Circle of Care
It has been almost exactly one month since Isaiah’s accident, and we are grateful to share that he is well on the road to recovery.
We have watched him move from the most critical days in the ICU into a new phase centered on recovery and rehabilitation. His progress is slow and steady, which his doctors tell us is exactly what needs to be happening. He is participating in various therapies, and we continue to see meaningful progress.
Over this past month, something extraordinary has formed around Isaiah: a true circle of care.
It has been beautiful to witness the love and devotion Isaiah’s sons have shown their father, and the way our family and friends have rallied around him. That circle has continued to widen: extended family, lifelong and old friends, colleagues, neighbors, and so many others who have been touched by Isaiah’s story or simply felt moved to stand with our family have poured into us in ways we could never have anticipated.
Through this GoFundMe, homes opened to us, meals, cards, calls, voice notes, photographs, prayers, messages, social media shares, and countless gestures of kindness, you have helped hold us up while we hold Isaiah close.
We are only now able to take in the magnitude of it all, and we are beautifully overwhelmed. Even if we cannot acknowledge each of you individually, please know that we see you. We appreciate you. We cherish every expression of generosity and care.
Times like this remind us just how much the people in our lives matter, and how far that circle reaches.
Your support has helped make it possible for us to be present with Isaiah in the ways he needs us most.
His medical team has remarked on the presence of family in his room and how that connection can lift and support him in various positive ways. So please know that what you have given, in all its many forms, has reached far beyond us.
We are profoundly grateful.
