I never imagined that one day I would become the one in need of help. Two years ago, the war destroyed everything I had—my home, my work, and the life I had built for my family. After a long and painful two-year journey of seeking asylum in Spain, learning Spanish, and finding a job, my parents, my younger brothers, and my wife were finally able to join me safely a few months ago. However, surviving here is still a daily struggle. I am now the sole provider for a family of eight people. My monthly income is around €1,400, while our basic monthly expenses exceed €2,000. I also carry €6,000 in debt resulting from travel costs, flight tickets for both families, daily necessities, and other essential expenses related to my family’s arrival. I pay €700 in monthly rent, not including utilities, food, or other necessities. My parents are elderly (over 55 years old) and suffer from chronic health conditions. My father is partially disabled and diabetic, and my mother has hypertension. I have four younger brothers: three are minors (ages 9, 14, and 16) who have not yet been enrolled in school due to costs and language barriers, and the fourth is 19 years old, recently graduated from high school but not yet able to work. My wife is also unable to work at the moment due to language barriers, legal restrictions, and the fact that she has only recently arrived. We were informed that our family is not eligible for any public support programs until we complete one full year of legal residency. In total, I am responsible for supporting my immediate family living with me in Spain, all of whom are fully dependent on me for their basic needs and stability. My family is not currently eligible for any government assistance, and no one else in the household can work due to factors such as age, health conditions, study commitments, language barriers, or legal restrictions. I previously worked night shifts at a refugee reception center, leaving home at 20:00 and returning around 10:00 the next morning. My sleep was extremely limited, and both my body and mind were pushed to the edge. I was deeply afraid that my health would collapse due to this routine and constant pressure. Currently, I sometimes work during the daytime, but I have no option but to stop working. The alternative would be seeing my family go hungry, lose their home, or watch my younger brothers’ futures collapse. I have tried many alternative solutions, including finding another job or starting a small business, but unfortunately, none of them have worked. This fundraiser is not for luxury. It is to provide my family with stability, dignity, and a chance to rebuild our lives after war. How the funds will be used: Cover basic living expenses for the next two months (food, utilities, transportation). Pay off part of the urgent debts to reduce financial pressure. Enroll my wife in Spanish language courses to help her integrate and eventually work. Enroll and support my younger brothers to continue their education in Spain after two years without schooling. Create a €1,000 emergency fund for unexpected medical, legal, or housing expenses. Declaration: I am raising funds for my immediate family: my parents, my wife, my four younger brothers living in Spain. They are fully dependent on me for survival, healthcare, education, and stability. All funds will be transferred directly to me, Ahmed, and managed personally through my verified Spanish bank account. The funds will be used exclusively for the expenses listed above, which directly support my family’s survival and stability. Soy de Sudán, donde trabajé durante años en el ámbito humanitario ayudando a personas desplazadas a reconstruir sus vidas en campamentos de refugiados. Nunca imaginé que algún día sería yo quien necesitaría ayuda. Hace dos años, la guerra lo destruyó todo: mi hogar, mi trabajo y la vida que había construido para mi familia. Tras un largo y doloroso proceso de dos años solicitando asilo en España, aprendiendo el idioma y consiguiendo un empleo, mis padres, mis hermanos menores y mi esposa pudieron reunirse conmigo de forma segura hace unos meses. Sin embargo, sobrevivir aquí sigue siendo una lucha diaria. Actualmente soy el único sostén económico de una familia de ocho personas. Mi ingreso mensual ronda los 1.400 €, mientras que nuestros gastos básicos superan los 2.000 € al mes. Además, arrastro una deuda de 6.000 € derivada de los gastos de viaje, billetes de avión, necesidades diarias y otros costes esenciales relacionados con la llegada de mi familia. Pago un alquiler mensual de 700 €, sin incluir servicios, alimentación ni otros gastos básicos. Mis padres tienen más de 55 años y padecen enfermedades crónicas. En total, soy responsable de siete personas dependientes:todos en España, además de mí mismo. Mi familia no es actualmente elegible para ninguna ayuda gubernamental, y ningún otro miembro del hogar puede trabajar debido a factores como la edad, la salud, los estudios, la barrera del idioma o las restricciones legales. Anteriormente trabajaba en turnos nocturnos en un centro de acogida para personas refugiadas, saliendo de casa a las 20:00 y regresando alrededor de las 10:00 de la mañana siguiente. Dormía muy poco, y tanto mi cuerpo como mi mente estaban al límite. Temía que mi salud colapsara debido a este ritmo y a la presión constante. Actualmente trabajo a veces durante el día, pero no tengo opción de dejar de trabajar. La alternativa sería ver a mi familia pasar hambre, perder su vivienda o que el futuro de mis hermanos se derrumbe. He intentado buscar soluciones alternativas, como encontrar otro empleo o iniciar un pequeño negocio, pero lamentablemente ninguna ha funcionado. Esta recaudación no es para lujos. Es para ofrecer a mi familia estabilidad, dignidad y la oportunidad de reconstruir una vida después de la guerra. Cómo se utilizarán los fondos: Cubrir gastos básicos durante los próximos dos meses (alimentación, servicios y transporte). Pagar parte de las deudas urgentes para reducir la presión financiera. Inscribir a mi esposa en cursos de español para facilitar su integración y futura incorporación al trabajo. Apoyar la educación de mis hermanos menores tras dos años sin escolarización. Crear un fondo de emergencia de 1.000 € para gastos médicos, legales o de vivienda imprevistos. Declaración: Estoy recaudando fondos para mi familia directa: mis padres, mi esposa, mis cuatro hermanos que viven en España. Todos dependen completamente de mí para su supervivencia, atención médica, educación y estabilidad.
