<div>Roger Miller Sr was on the trip of a lifetime with his wife Doris, three of their adult children, and the spouses of their children - adventuring on an Alaskan and Canadian cruise - when he was unexpectedly hit with COVID. What he originally thought was a cold from the change in weather and environment became a horrible case of COVID pneumonia that was beyond the capabilities of the cruise ship's infirmary. Roger was moved to a hospital in Canada for care - and, although the country has wide accessibility to healthcare and prescriptions, being a non-resident has high-cost implications. The hospital stay alone is approximately $12,000 per day. Any support that friends and family can provide toward making his medical expenses more manageable is appreciated very much - as are your prayers!

<div>Update: As of the evening of Aug 20, more unexpected news was delivered by one of Roger and Doris’ children: Doris has now been admitted to the Canadian ER for similar medical complications alongside her husband, Roger. With both of them admitted into an out-of-country medical facility, the costs are rising. We have updated our fundraising goal to make a larger impact since the costs have risen significantly with them both hospitalized at this point.

Roger and Doris Miller's Unexpected Medical Costs

A few days ago I noticed an abnormality on Kyzik.  I thought it was an infection of some sort, which isn't abnormal since he has a thyroid condition and often has flare ups.  So, we went to the vet first thing in the morning thinking the visit would be a routine visit.  My heart was crushed to hear the bump wasn't a cyst and far from routine. The vet said the bump is a tumor that extends two inches deep on his hind side.  As I held back tears unsuccessfully, the vet explained that most people don't notice these types of tumors until they are protruding and inoperable.   This type of cancer is aggressive and can very swiftly end in heart break.  They said if they had the ability to do it at the vet then and there they would have.  They referred me to an oncologist in the local area to get an appointment set.  They recommended I call around even to neighboring states to see if anyone can see him sooner, so I did.  Unfortunately,  Covid has caused all treatment facilities to limit how many patients they can take.  The earliest appointment I could get is Thursday 07/16/20.  However, we have a window of hope and it currently is operable.  He cant take any pain medications currently due to his thyroid and the upcoming blood work, and can barley use the bathroom........ My poor child needs all the help he can get.  He has touched so many lives and brought so much joy to everyone hes met.  Please help me save my best friend.  He is the love of my life, my first child, and I truly cant even put into words the space he holds in my life and my heart.  The vet said the procedures can get very pricey, so I am setting a goal of $8,000 for now. Anything helps even a buck. We’re so thankful &lt;3

Of course money is the goal but I fully understand times are tight I love our community and I’m so lucky to know such genuinely amazing humans and my hope is that we all know someone who might have the financial stability to help and ur voice is so powerful &lt;3

Cancer Surgery for Kyzik

<p>If you've been to the Downtown Grill and Brewery, then you probably know our beloved team leader (mascot): Bryan White. 
</p>

<p>Bryan was involved in an accident at his home. For whatever reasons, his neighbor drove his car through WHITEY and through Whitey's garage. <br /><br />He broke his toe and believes his ACL is torn. <br /><br />He has been out of work for over a week and medical bills are piling up. The depth of these bills are unknown. We do know that he has already invested in the 4-digits and has no income coming in. This IS with insurance. <br /><br />He's been there for us. We should be there for him.

<p>What's the point of being a neighborhood, well - anything; if you're not going to be there for your neighbors?<br /><br />He needs help. Our numbers are big. We can show him the love that he always does for all of us. <br /><br />Anything will help. <br /><br />Thank you.<br /><br />P.S. He's not on social media. He knows nothing about this.
