Sunny, my beloved chi/terrier mix, is truly the sunshine of my life. We were at a landscaping job I was considering when, out of nowhere, a pitbull grabbed my 18 lb Sunny by the throat and locked on. The attack was terrifying—blood was everywhere, and another big dog was also trying to get to Sunny. I jumped on the attacker and bit his throat as hard as I could, rolling around until he finally let go. Then came the frantic, bloody ride to the ER. The place where Sunny was attacked was supposed to be our lot to rent, but now we need a new safe place. Sunny's medical bills have drained all my money, and I am disabled, barely able to walk now. After working for 40 years, I never imagined facing something like this. The funds raised will help cover Sunny's medical bills, my own medical needs, and finding a safe place to live with our 18' camper. Sunny needs 24/7 care, and his injuries are severe—some bites went clear through to his backbone. But through it all, I hold onto God and prayer to get through this. We are broken in many ways, but God has brought us through this ordeal. Any support means the world to us. If you can lend a hand, know that your kindness will help us heal and find hope again.
