<div>As many of you know, our twins have been dealing with some serious health issues for many years. They are always willing to help out the community, friends, and family by donating their time, money, and efforts. As their parents, we are coming to you to ask for your assistance in any way possible.

<div>They both have been diagnosed by their primary care physician Dr. Rachel Zonca with a very rare non curable autoimmune disease called Stiff Person Syndrome. One in 1 million people in the world will get this disease, but as twins, it’s almost a once-in-a-never chance.
</div>

</div>
<div>A quick explanation of what SPS is: it’s a rare progressive neurological disorder characterized by severe muscle spasms that can break bones, dislocate joints, and result in life-threatening breathing problems. The impact on the quality of life reaches far beyond the physical – challenging their mental, emotional, and social well-being.

<div>Most days, they both suffer from painful symptoms, some similar and some completely different. The only current solution right now is to have them on a very high amount of Valium. They are  both on over 60mg a day, which affects their lives dramatically. They are no longer allowed to drive, work, and simple household tasks exhaust them easily. They have daily balance issues that often result in falls.

<div>Only a handful of specialists are certified to treat SPS. But we received “the” phone call that we had been waiting for: the girls get to see the top specialist in the country. Unfortunately, she is in Colorado, and we will be there for a few days. They will undergo uncomfortable and painful testing, but we should leave there with an answer on how to treat this autoimmune disease and how life will look going forward.

<div>Many friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors have asked how they can help out. In response, we’ve started this GoFundMe to help our daughters with medical expenses, plane tickets, loss of wages and all that comes along with a medical trip that is out of state. Mindy’s husband Ray, Carrie’s husband Angel, and I will be escorting them there to get them through it. If you are able to donate, we are absolutely grateful. If not, prayers, great thoughts, a simple text message, or a call is always appreciated as well. This has been a rough couple of months for our family, but we will all get through it.

<div><em>Nian and I would have been together for 24 years today. We grew up together and navigated the world the best we could as partners. Opposites in absolutely every way, but somehow a perfect match. It’s hard to explain to someone looking in, but our souls aligned. Even though we were different, it just worked. We were never perfect, but one thing I can say is that we loved each other deeply.</em>

<div><em>Even though I was only 14 years old when I met Nian, I knew the minute we met that I loved him and that we were meant to be. I did everything possible to be with him. Nian made a huge impact on my life. He taught me so much about this world. Many people have told me Nian did well in life because of me, but I think the honest truth is that he saved me. I view people and the world differently because of him. I softened a little, and my perspective on life changed. I used to tease him and say the world is not all rainbows and sunshine, because he could see the good in every person and every situation. He was truly a remarkable person, and I can say with my whole heart that I have never met anyone like him. To say Nian will be missed is an understatement—this world will never be the same without him.</em>

<div><em>Nian was everything to everyone. His ability to be the glue in all his friend groups, the person everyone admired, was one of the greatest gifts he gave this world. To be known by Nian was to be loved by Nian. His smile and laugh could light even the darkest room. His ability to love people who didn’t always deserve it was remarkable. He loved without judgment and touched so many lives.</em>

<div><em>The one thing that gives me peace is knowing he is with his grandpa Lucio now. He was like a father to Nian and helped shape him into the man he became. Their bond was incredible, and I know they are somewhere fishing, laughing, and talking about the good times. Nian also lost many friends in the last couple of years, each of whom meant so much to him. I imagine they’re having the biggest BBQ in heaven, and he is so happy to be reunited with them.</em>

<div><em>Our girls will never be the same without their dad. Jaylin and Nian had this magical bond. They were best friends who loved watching sports together. She looked up to him and wanted to be with him every minute. She has the kindest, biggest heart because of him.</em>

<div><em>Ava, my small but feisty little girl, loved joking and playing tricks on him. They were goofy and fun together. She kept him on his toes and definitely gave him a run for his money. But she softened with him and loved him deeply.</em>

<div><em>Life is going to be beyond difficult without him—his warm hugs, loving kisses, and positive outlook. If my smile is gone or the light in my eyes has dimmed a little, just know I am working to get it back for him. One day I will be with him again.</em>

<div>Hello everyone our world has been turned upside down . Monday Night I had to take Felix to the ER  due to his head hurting and him not responding to what I was asking  his words made no sense. After some tests and a head scan, around 2 in the morning they gave me some bad news. A cyst had formed inside Felix's head, that was putting pressure on his brain causing him to act differently and not make any sense when talking . He was rushed to Madera Children's Hospital. Angel, the kids, and I packed some stuff and headed out to be with Felix. He had surgery this morning and all went good, but he has to stay here in the hospital for up to 2 months, being on antibiotics to help him recover. This has been a stressful emotional ride not only for us, but for our Felix he just wants to come home and it's hard to explain to him that it's not going to be for awhile   Angel and I are changing our schedules so we can be here for him as much as possible.  I know he's gonna be OK but it hurts so much to see your child in so much pain, and screaming that all he wants to do is come home.

<div>My mother was first diagnosed with COVID about three weeks ago after a few days of battling a constant headache, fever, congestion, shortness of breath, abdominal distress and nausea. She did initially go to the hospital, but because her symptoms were not too severe, she was sent home. She spent the next two weeks quarantined in her home. During this time her symptoms only progressed until she could hardly breathe without a struggle. At this point her boyfriend Mike convinced her to go back to the hospital.

<div>My mother was admitted to Marian Medical Center on Sunday, September 5th, 2021. Upon her arrival she had a fever, was very dehydrated and had an extremely hard time breathing. At that time she was diagnosed with pneumonia in both of her lungs. She was moved upstairs and spent the next three days on oxygen, being rotated every 12 hours from her back to her stomach, and undergoing multiple blood tests. On Tuesday her condition became more critical and so she was moved to ICU. On the morning of Wednesday, September 8th, I spoke with my mother and her doctors. She was extremely winded and was relying heavily on 70% oxygen. At that point her doctor recommended she be placed on a ventilator as this would be her only chance of recovery. They literally said “you need to do this or you will die”.

<div>Since my mother was placed on the ventilator she has been heavily sedated, put on multiple medications, and given a paralytic to keep her from breathing on her own so that her lungs can rest. The doctors are doing everything they can to help her, and we can only hope that it is enough to help her heal.

<div>My mother has a long road to recovery ahead of her, and in the meantime, both her medical and personal bills are beginning to pile up. The last thing she needs to worry about as she continues to heal, is having a large financial burden to face when she comes home. As a result I am looking for a way to help relieve some of this financial strain. As many know, my mother is always one to step up support those around her. She volunteers countless hours for various organizations. She is now in need of help. Any proceeds from this fundraiser will be utilized to help in paying off her expenses, as well as any necessary rehabilitation that may be needed for her to heal in the future.

Leslie A. Maxwell and her battle against COVID-19

My name is Carrie and I am Lisa's sister. Team Jaylin (Her Aunties, Uncles and grandparents) will be raising money to assist in her battle against Leukemia. Any and all support is appreciated!! Thank you to all that have been reaching out, the love is greatly felt! <br /><br />Please see her story told by her parents: <br /><br />On Christmas Day, our life as we have known it would be changed forever. Jaylin woke up happy and excited to see what Santa brought her!! She started walking down the hall, sat down and started to cry. She said she couldn't walk because her leg hurt. This pain started to effect the way she walked and each day seem to be getting worse. In the past 3 months Jaylin has been hospitalized 3 times and has seen over 6 doctors, including 4 specialists. She has had x rays, bone scans, MRI, fluid extracted from her hip, physical therapy and countless blood tests in which none of them have given her any relief. <br /><br />On April 2 Jaylin woke up in excruciating pain, screaming at the top of her lungs. Her leg and back were so bad she couldn't walk or move. We gave her 2 different pain medicine and nothing was helping. As parents, Nian and I were so scared to take her to the emergency room because of the Corona virus. We feared she would get it and would be worse off then she already was. But we knew all her symptoms were not normal and that the doctors must be missing something. We made the hard decision to rush her to the emergency room at Cottage Hospital. After more X rays and blood tests they found out she had a compacted fracture in her spine L4. Her bone marrow also looked abnormal. That night they moved her to Children's hospital of Los Angeles by ambulance, where she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia B. <br /><br />Children's Hospital of Los Angeles started with procedures immediately and will continue with treatments for 2.5 years. Jaylin was given a back brace and a walker to help aid in her spine recovery. The last 3 months have been awful for our family. Despite getting this news we are grateful that Jaylin has finally been diagnosed and can begin treatments to get better. We remain positive and look forward to the day our sweet girl will no longer be in pain and can run and play like she use to. We have no doubt that Jaylin is incredibly strong and will win this fight. Help Jaylin in her fight against Leukemia

Ezekiel Cabigon is the cutest goofiest 1 year old, loved by so many. Unfortunately, he's fallen ill and needs our help. Extrarenal Rhabdoid tumor is an aggressive tumor usually found in kidneys. In Bubba's rare case, it was found in his liver. It is so rare,  that there are only 350 cases found per year. EZ is currently being treated at Nationwide Childrens Hospital in Colombus, Ohio where they treat up to 6 cases per year. Doctors are afraid, because of the location of the tumor, it could be very dangerous to remove so they have recommended he begin chemo therapy as soon as possible. We would like the family to be able to focus on Ezekiel, each other, and whats important during this difficult time! If you can help them ease the financial burden we'd greatly appreciate it!
