I am raising money to protect my three young grandkids, who are U.S. citizens. In July, they are supposed to leave for El Salvador to live with their father, who is a registered sex offender. As their grandmother, I am terrified for their safety and well-being if they are sent away. I fear that in El Salvador, they will be helpless and at risk of abuse, far from the family and support they have here. I am doing everything I can to keep them safe and give them the chance to grow up surrounded by people who love them. Unfortunately, the court has ordered that they go to El Salvador, and I cannot afford a lawyer to fight this decision. The funds raised will go directly toward legal fees so I can hire an attorney and fight for my grandkids to stay here with me, where they belong. They deserve a safe home, a good education, and the chance to be with their friends and siblings. This would mean so much to me and my grandkids. They don’t belong in El Salvador—they love their lives here. If they are forced to leave, they will be heartbroken and defenseless in the hands of someone who has already caused harm.
