My name is Kim, and I am reaching out to ask for your support in making Duck Hill a more beautiful and welcoming place for everyone. For years, our town has struggled with mismanagement of funds, leaving many community spaces neglected and in need of care. I believe that with a little help and a lot of heart, we can transform Duck Hill into a vibrant, inviting community that we can all be proud of.

 I am organizing a community beautification project focused on cleaning up public spaces, adding art to buildings, and creating a more inviting atmosphere throughout Duck Hill. All of the funds raised will go directly toward purchasing materials and items needed for these projects—things like paint, cleaning supplies, plants, and other essentials. We have a dedicated group of volunteers who are generously donating their time and energy, so none of the money will be used for labor costs. Every dollar you give will make a real, visible difference in our town.

<div>Hi! I am Kim Rice, a Stage 4 Breast Cancer Survivor who was just told I was in remission. I am friends and former coworker with Ariel's mother Lisa. I know first hand how devastating Breast Cancer is to family, finances, emotions, and physical health. Please help me reach the goal set for Ariel. She deserves a CURE without having to worry about finances during this time. <div>In September, Ariel noticed a small lump and skin dimpling of her right breast. By the end of September, she had a mammogram and a biopsy. Ironically, she learned of her Breast Cancer diagnosis on the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, October 1, 2024. She was diagnosed with Stage II Grade 2 Estrogen Receptor+, Progesterone Receptor+, HER2- Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. She has faced a lumpectomy and lymph node biopsy. After surgery, she learned the cancer was also in her lymph nodes and would require hormone blockers, radiation as well as possible chemotherapy. She has several upcoming appointments that will give her the specifics of the treatments she will go through. We will update as these appointments occur. Ariel dreams of having children of her own so she has opted for egg retrieval and preservation so she has a chance of fulfilling these dreams. She has insurance coverage, but her share of the charges is on the rise.

<div>Ariel is a beautiful 32 year old who lives for her furbaby, Pippa. She dreams of a beautiful family in the future. Ariel has always had a heart for others. She is a labor and delivery nurse of 10 years and has taken unpaid FMLA to face the fight of her life. She loves spending time with her friends, family, and especially her precious niece, Willow Belle.

<div>She fills her tiny patio with plants, flowers and herbs. Ariel loves antiques and the stories behind them. Her mom says, she’s a young lady with an old soul. She loves to read, travel and visit historical sites. Visiting all of the presidential libraries is a must do. She will work hard to gain her life back and life as normal as possible

Support Ariel's Fight Against Breast Cancer

<div>Rachel Huber and her husband, Corey Galvan recently welcomed their third child into the world, albeit over five weeks early. Asher Malone Galvan, whose due date was December 11, was born on November 2, 2022, weighing 4 lbs., 15.3 oz. As expected, he was taken to the NICU at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, TN, but he soon began to have episodes of bradycardia (below-average heart rate), oxygen desaturation (drops in oxygen level of the blood), and apnea (starting and stopping of breathing while sleeping). While this is not unexpected for premature babies, it reached a point that Asher was transferred to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital on November 7, where he still remains. He is growing stronger and improves daily, but the apnea, bradycardia, and oxygen desaturation events are still occurring with relative frequency. Although they hoped that he would be able to come home before Thanksgiving, this is unlikely, and while the staff of LeBonheur has provided excellent care for Asher, the growing cloud of the impending medical bill hangs heavy over his parents’ heads.

<div>Mr. Galvan is a high school teacher at Southaven High School where he teaches ancient history. Dr. Huber is an audiologist who just received her second doctorate from the University of Memphis. Together, they have a son, Ezekiel “Zeke” Galvan, who is 16 months old, and Corey has an 11-year-old daughter, Lyric Galvan, from a previous relationship. Rachel, Corey, Lyric, and Zeke are looking forward to having their son and brother home with them, but they are not looking forward to receiving the medical bill from LeBonheur. They humbly ask for the kindness and compassion of their peers and request donations to help them pay off the medical bills that Asher has accrued since his early birth. So far, the outpouring of love and support has been immeasurable and overwhelming, and the thoughts and prayers have been felt and greatly appreciated—if hospitals accepted love, thoughts, and prayers as currency, the bill wouldn’t stand a chance, but alas, that is not the case. Any amount donated is greatly appreciated, and Corey will continue to post updates on Asher’s condition on his Facebook page. <div>As some of you know Timi was severely injured competing in her beloved sport of Chuckwagon Racing on Saturday July 9th 2022. 
</div>
<div>Her ponies had a mishap at the start line and were unable to be turned &amp; they ran her under a guide wire from an electrical pole. 
</div>
<div>while the ponies and the rest of her team were uninjured, Timi suffered 3 broken cervical vertebrae &amp; was airlifted to Vanderbilt in Nashville. 
</div>
<div>She does not have insurance to cover either the medivac or hospital bills. 
</div>

<div>Both Timi and her husband Allen have been long time wagon racers and part of the equine community. We all know them as kind and considerate and always have a smile to greet their friends.

<div>Corynne is our beautiful, fierce 17 year old daughter! As most of you know, she unfortunately suffered a blood clot in the basilar artery of her brain stem, that caused two strokes. This happened in April of this year, her diagnosis is functioning quadriplegic on ventilator support!
</div>
<div>After a tedious search for a rehab facility to take her in, We all landed in St. Louis Missouri,  After losing our jobs and our homes, and most of everything inside of them, in June. 
</div>
<div>Ronald McDonald house would not allow the entire family to stay because of Covid restrictions, so my mother took that housing ,And we ( myself , husband and Corynnes sister)had to find out of pocket housing. I am also almost 30 weeks expecting. 
</div>
<div>Corynne is stable enough to be discharged after months of intensive therapy, however since we have moved up here without a choice, to go through this rehabilitation program, we no longer have housing back home in De Soto County Mississippi.
</div>
<div>They are suggesting we allow Corynne  to go out of state again to another long-term live-in facility ( either Indiana or Kentucky)that does not allow caregiver involvement. We simply cannot allow that to happen and do not have the means to move again.  Not to mention the detrimental effects it would have on her mind spirit and morale. 
</div>
<div>This fund is specifically set up for housing and utility costs for one year, until we can establish a permanent residence that can be modified to except her medically. ( Handicapped bathroom, wide doorways, ramps, etc)
</div>
<div>Many have already given to the other fundraisers, and we are so grateful for the support that has helped sustain us these last few months. 
</div>
<div>Every little bit counts, the sooner that we reach our goal the sooner that she can be discharged, and the sooner that our family can be together again! 
</div>
<div>please share this with your friends and family, any property owners that you know, any business owners that you know, that have a heart for a lifelong Mississippi family.

<div>Being homeless with a disabled child is a horrible feeling, And my hope as a mother is that my lifelong community will help us get back home.
