My name is Maeve Rockett, I'm 15 years old and I am raising money for the Worthy Australia Foundation Charity. Did you know that worldwide every 9 days, a woman is killed by her current or former partner? Children that are exposed to domestic violence may develop behavioural problems, such as anxiety, depression, and difficulties in school. Their brain development can be affected, with trauma responses similar to those seen in combat veterans. Worthy Australia is a Perth-based organisation that provides life-changing crisis support to women & children who have experienced homelessness due to domestic violence. All of the funds I am raising will go directly to Worthy Australia so that they can support women and children, help them feel safe, and help them make a home. Through Worthy Australia's Safe Haven program, the volunteers at Worthy Australia turn empty houses into beautiful, fully furnished homes for families who, without this program, are unable to leave the domestic violence refuge. The money I am raising will help the Safe Haven Program.
