I’m Rikki, and I’m asking for help as I work to rebuild my life here in Cleveland. After four years clean, I experienced a chemical exposure at my old job that led to serious health problems and took a heavy toll on my mental health. I eventually had to leave because of unsafe working conditions, and the depression and isolation that followed became a huge part of my relapse. Asking for help does not come naturally to me, and I have never done something like this before, but I know I cannot do this alone. Today, I am eight months clean and sober, and I am holding on to my recovery with everything I have.
I have already saved $1,000 on my own, and I need help covering rent so I can truly start over. This support will help me secure stable housing, continue my recovery, and keep moving forward with the good job I found in Cleveland. Being transgender has made my journey even harder, but for the first time in my life, I am no longer ashamed of who I am. Living honestly is helping me stay clean and believe in a better future. If you are able to help, whether through a donation or a prayer, it would mean more to me than I can express. Thank you for supporting me as I work to stay sober, safe, and hopeful about the life I am building.
