<div>Hello everyone! My name is Lida/Rain (they/them). I am a nonbinary individual living in Texas, and I am excited to share that I am scheduled for top surgery for December 7th (yay)!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is a life-changing gender-affirming procedure I have dreamed of since I was a teen but could never truly conceive of until now. Over the past few years, I have felt a greater sense of urgency to receive gender-affirming care as my dysphoria has gotten progressively worse on top of the physical stress from binding for over 10 years. This surgery will be a huge relief and milestone in helping me live more confidently and feel more in alignment with my body.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Your contributions will help cover the expected out-of-pocket costs ($4500) for my surgery and recovery, which are due two weeks before the operation. Every little bit of support you can contribute is greatly appreciated, whether you can donate, share, or send a word of encouragement!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you so much for helping me on my journey and making this a reality!!!

 Opal is only 25 years old. She came from Thailand to the United States through the J-1 Summer Work and Travel program. She was supposed to return home in September. Instead, she is now recovering from a serious car accident and a stroke, thousands of miles away from her family.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 On September 12, 2026, Opal and her friends were involved in a multi-vehicle accident in Modesto, California. She was seriously injured and taken by ambulance to the hospital.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 <strong>Opal needed emergency surgery for injuries to her pelvis, ribs, and lung.</strong> A few days later, she suffered a stroke that left the left side of her body weak.
</div>
<div>
 <strong>Today, Opal still cannot walk and cannot sit up for long periods of time.</strong> She needs physical therapy, continued care, and help with everyday activities. Her medical team estimates that she may need at least 6 to 8 weeks after surgery before she can safely fly, possibly longer depending on her recovery.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Why Opal Needs Our Help
</div>
<div>
 <strong>Opal's medical insurance is ending soon.</strong> The rental vehicle's insurance does not cover her medical expenses, and getting the rehabilitation care she needs without insurance has been extremely difficult.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Her parents and family live in northeastern Thailand and have limited financial resources. They are unable to travel to the United States to care for her, so Opal is going through this difficult recovery far away from her family.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Our goal is to help care for Opal while she recovers and bring her safely home to Thailand as soon as her medical team says she is able to travel.
</div>
<div>
 Donations will help with her medical care, physical therapy, daily care, and the cost of getting her safely back to Thailand.
</div>
<div>

</div>
<div>
 My name is Sirikul "Pui" Brown, a Thai community volunteer helping Opal and her family. I have permission from Opal and her family to share her story and organize this fundraiser. Opal is the beneficiary of the funds raised.
</div>
<div>
 Every donation, no matter the amount, will help Opal get one step closer to recovery and one step closer to home.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 If you cannot donate, please share Opal's story. Your share may help us reach someone who can.
</div>
<div>
 Thank you for helping Opal get the care she needs and return home to her family.

</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 ⚜️ทำไมโอปอจึงต้องการความช่วยเหลือจากคนไทย⚜️
</div>
<div>

</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>

Help Opal Recover and Return Home to Thailand

<div>Pictured above is our beautiful tree lined street. We are making this separate GoFundMe for the neighbors on our street who welcomed us with open arms when we moved in. None of this money will go to us. Without them, our time in Altadena wouldn't have been the same. We truly hope they rebuild and stay on the street—Altadena wouldn't be anything without its people.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We made a GoFundMe for ourselves to recoup our losses and help with rehousing. We received an outpouring of generosity, and cried over and over reading messages from you all. We are so privileged to have support from our in-person and online community, and want to help our neighbors who do not have the reach.

Support Our Neighbors in Recovery After LA Fire

<div>Please consider helping Nicole and Wes during this horrible time. Last week Nicole was diagnosed with stage IV Cervical cancer and will start treatment in the upcoming weeks. Two months after Nicole's diagnosis, her son, Wes was rushed to the CHOP with stomach pain. Unfortunately, it was confirmed that Wes has cancer. Nicole is well known in our community as a loving mother, wife, fantastic photographer, and always willing to help others in need. Please consider donating to help Nicole, Wes, and her family with the medical bills that will quickly add up once treatments start. Any amount will go a long way. We are one fantastic community in the NJ/PA/DE area, and I know we can all show up to support one of our own.
</div>

<div>Thank you so much for supporting Nicole &amp; Wes during this trying time.

<div>A post by Nicole on 9/3/2022
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Exactly two months ago today, I made the decision to go public with my cancer diagnosis and actively share my story, no matter which direction it went. I felt deeply that this diagnosis was a much larger part of my life story, and not something to be hidden. I knew there would be curveballs. I did not expect one of them to be what I'm about to share now. Two months ago I told the world I didn't know how to find the right words, so I would just say it plainly. I come today with that same sentiment, because there are no words. Lately I have found myself asking, is this even real life? Once again, after a lot of consideration on whether or not to share this, I think it's important to. And once again, I will just say it.
</div>
<div>On Thursday I took Wesley, our 4 year old son, to the ER for severe stomach pain. It was there that the doctors discovered a large tumor on his kidney. He was rushed to CHOP (almost by helicopter but it turned out in that situation ground would be faster) where it was confirmed that he has cancer. He was admitted Thursday night and will be monitored until he can have surgery on Tuesday to have the tumor and his left kidney removed. He will have to go through conventional treatment after that: 6 rounds of chemo and radiation. Our family's story will now track the healing and recovery of 2 of its members instead of 1. How could this happen? What are the odds?
</div>
<div>You can believe me when i tell you that I've gone through ALL the feels in the past few days. All the fears, tears, and disbelief. But I'm writing to you now from a place of peace and calm. I do believe whole heartedly that our family will get through this. I know Wesley is a strong boy and will recover. But as I rest in that peace, I also am absolutely floored by the strange, surreal nature of it all. I've almost been feeling out of body lately, just completely awestruck that this is reality. Because... really, honest question... HOW is this reality?
</div>
<div>I've spent a lot of time imagining "my story" when it comes to cancer. I've pondered on how it's changing me as a person and where it will lead me. What I've learned now is that it's time to let go of the "story" because God has written one SO MUCH BIGGER than I could ever have imagined. I never, in a million years, would have written it this way. But he has. And nothing he does is without purpose. God loves our son more than I ever could with my human heart, and he has a plan for both of us, and he has designed it this way for us to walk the road together. I didn't choose this, but I'm ready for it, I accept it, and I surrender to it.
</div>
<div>The most unfortunate thing right now is that our sweet boy is in a LOT of pain, and there is nothing beyond pain management we can do until he has his surgery. He will feel SO much better after that, and we are so eager to get him to and through Tuesday as fast and smoothly as possible. I humbly ask for your continued prayers for Wesley, for our family, for my husband, who is somehow keeping this whole ship afloat. He has so much on his shoulders. Alex we love you so much. Thank you for taking care of us all so well. ❤
</div>
<div>Thank you to our church family, who has rallied continuously for us throughout this experience. Thank you to my photography community, who has helped my business continue running and serving its clients well in the face of unimaginable adversity. The waves keep crashing down on us, but the beautiful people in our lives have picked us up every single time as the water recedes. Never underestimate the power of community when it comes together with purpose and love. The love i have felt in my life these past 2 months is nothing short of unforgettable and transformative. Love really is the most powerful force in the universe.
</div>
<div>I'm ending this one with lyrics from a song my sweet friend Kristen sent me. They have brought me so much comfort. I'll be checking in again soon. Thank you for your continued prayers. We would love for the prayers to be for Wesley this upcoming Tuesday, for a successful surgery that will bring him infinite relief and comfort. Thank you so much.

<div>On the evening of October 31st, one of our founders, our previous president, and cherished community member, Timage Abubaker, was involved in a tragic multi-car accident that resulted in the loss of three lives. Timage and three other passengers sustained serious injuries. She has undergone surgery and is currently in recovery, but her medical expenses are substantial.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Timage is a kind, funny, and caring person whose presence lights up any room she is in. As a loving daughter, sister, and cherished friend, she means so much to those around her. She suffered from a life threatening subdural hematoma from the accident and had to have emergency surgery. She is now in recovery and we are hoping to see her have a full recovery with time. We are so grateful to Allah that she has survived this accident and we hope to be able to make it easier on her and her family by doing the least that we can do which is helping with expenses. We want this gofundme to serve as a means of not only covering her medical expenses but any future expenses that her and her family will face as a result of this accident. We ask you all to donate whatever you can to help and share as wide as possible. All of the money will be donated to Timages family.
