- Hi everyone, We’re writing this with broken hearts after losing our sweet boy, Sparrow, far too soon. He was only 1 year and 3 months old — just a baby, full of life, love, and energy. Didn’t have a single part of aggression in his body. Sparrow was the happiest dog, always wagging his tail, following us around, and bringing light into every single day. He wasn’t just our pet — he was truly part of our family. A few days ago, something tragic happened. Sparrow somehow got into rat poison somewhere on our property. We still have no idea where it came from or how he found it, and despite searching everywhere we couldn’t find any trace to investigate further. One day, we noticed something was terribly wrong. Sparrow started struggling to breathe, and blood began coming from his nose and mouth. We panicked and rushed him to the emergency vet as fast as we could, terrified of losing him. The vets worked tirelessly, doing everything in their power to save him. But the poison had already caused too much damage — his lungs were filled with fluid, organs began to fail and his body had almost no blood left. There was nothing more they could do. We held him and said goodbye as he took his last breath. It was one of the most heartbreaking moment of our lives, watching a pup so innocent and full of love slip away in front of us. Now, on top of the pain of losing him, we’re left with almost $4,000 in emergency vet bills from the efforts to try and save him. As two young adults, this unexpected expense has been extremely difficult for us to handle on our own. We would give anything to have Sparrow back, but since we can’t, we’re asking for help to recover from this loss — both emotionally and financially. Every single donation, no matter how small, means the world to us. Even sharing this page helps more than you know. Sparrow was loved so deeply, and we just want to honor his memory while getting through this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for reading our story, and for any support you can give. With love and gratitude, Shae & Isaac
