With heavy hearts, we share that after losing her father, Loui, in December, Meagan has now also lost her beloved mother, Heather. Heather was a beautiful woman whose life was defined by devotion—to her family, and especially to her only daughter, Meagan. 
 
Even while facing significant health challenges, Heather was always present. She showed up with strength, love, and selflessness, never letting her circumstances stop her from caring for those around her. She had a servant’s heart and found joy in helping others—whether supporting friends, being involved with Meagan’s club team, or cheering Meagan on in every activity she pursued. 
 
Heather’s love, generosity, and unwavering support will always be part of Meagan’s story. Thank you to everyone who continues to surround this family with prayers, kindness, and support during an unimaginable season of loss.

Heather and Meagan Cisneros are facing an unimaginable loss after the sudden and unexpected passing of their beloved husband and father, Jose Luis “Louie” Cisneros, on December 11, 2025. Louie slipped away quietly that night, and despite the paramedics' best efforts, he could not be revived. The shock and grief have left Heather and Meagan navigating a new and difficult reality without the man who meant so much to them. 
 
Heather, who has been a devoted wife and mother, is now left to shoulder all financial responsibilities on her own. Meagan, just a junior in high school, is trying to cope with the loss of her father while continuing her education and activities. As someone who has coached Meagan in soccer for over five years, I have seen firsthand the strength and kindness this family brings to our community. 
 
Adding to their challenges, Heather is also dealing with significant health issues and is currently searching for a kidney donor. The costs of her ongoing medical care are already high, and now, with Louie gone, the burden is even greater. Heather and Meagan have always been there for others—Meagan as a supportive teammate and Heather as a dedicated team mom. Now, they need our help more than ever. Any support, whether through donations or by sharing this fundraiser, will make a meaningful difference as they face the difficult days ahead.

<div>Yesterday we received some devastating news. Our best friend in the entire universe has a congenital heart defect and needs to have heart surgery to repair it. We noticed some symptoms as Lia is extremely active such as irregular heart beats and dizziness. She followed up with her primary who sent her to a cardiologist who showed she has severe left side heart enlargement due to a ASD. (Arterial Septal defect). She is the captain of her travel softball team and star pitcher on her middle school and high school varsity team. Lia is absolutely loved by all. Her mom is a single mom trying to juggle paying for school and working to support her and her brother. She will need to take at least 4 weeks off to care for Lia and the mounting of medical bills she will have. Let’s come together and help our beautiful girl. Love Mara Myers (Skylar’s mom )

Support Lia Li’s Heart Surgery Journey

Lauderdale Yacht Club (LYC)  has two High School race teams, St. Thomas Aquinas and Pine Crest School, as well as an Open High School Sailing Program (OHSS), an outreach program to Fort Lauderdale area high schools where students who want to learn to sail and race have the opportunity to learn on LYC 420 sailboats. LYC also has summer sailing which teaches high school, middle school and elementary sailors on 420s, with over 180 students taking part in summer camp every year.  LYC High School Race Teams have qualified for multiple national championships and have been a perennial top-five powerhouse nationally for years.  Moreover, college sailing is dominated by LYC Sailing Program graduates with multiple team race, fleet race and girls national championships. The OHSS sailing program has taught countless students how to sail, many of whom have went on to be on the race team and sail in college.  A main goal of the LYC sailing program is to help high schoolers get into the college of their dreams. Although there are not college scholarships for sailing, the sport of sailing absolutely helps sailors get into colleges, as sailing is a college sport and many of the top colleges in the country pride themselves on their sailing team.  The sailing program's goal to provide the best coaching and sailing is based primarily on the condition of the boats for sailors. Currently, half of the LYC 420 fleet is aged beyond their useful life with bows splitting, fiberglass weakening and it is becoming very difficult to keep them all sailing, not to mention they are not competitive on the racecourse.  We need your help! We are raising funds to purchase new 420s so LYC sailors have the opportunity to be competitive sailors and show their results to the college of their dreams.  Our goal is to purchase six new 420s  to replace the current 420s that are over ten years old and aged beyond their useful life.  Timeline from purchase to delivery is at least three to four months. The sailors need these race boats as soon as possible, hopefully by January 2020, which means the order needs to be placed before Labor Day (September 2, 2019).
