<div>Hello my name is Joel. My mother passed away on May 6th 2022. To me and my family she was mom, daughter, sister, auntie, niece, cousin, and most importantly to her she was a Nana. You may know my mother better as JEWELL!! THE QUEEN OF DEATH ROW RECORDS. You may have seen my mother in the media recently. While she was an amazing singer artist and mother she was never able to get her flowers while she was here. I know my mother touched the lives of many people either in person through her words or friendship or through her music. As her oldest son it tears me apart that I wasn’t able to financially put my mother to rest and instead that responsibility has fallen to my grandmother. I would like to be able to reimburse my grandmother. Be able to send my youngest brother to college ( he was accepted into BSU and is graduating a year early.) My mother wanted to leave a legacy for her children and grandchildren. Any funds donated will be used to fulfill that purpose.

<p>Safe Shores - The DC Children's Advocacy Center provides intervention, hope and healing for children and families affected by abuse, trauma and violence in the District of Columbia, and prevents child abuse through education and training. Safe Shores serves children and youth between the ages of zero to eighteen who have been victimized by abuse and/or witnessed violence, as well as their siblings and non-offending caregivers.

<strong>Save The Hampton House, Inc. Mission Statement</strong><br />    To Purchase, Restore and Maintain The Childhood Home of Chairman Fred Hampton. <br />     <br /><strong>Save The Hampton House, Inc. Vision Statement</strong><br />The primary focus of the 501(c)3 organization, Save the Hampton House, Inc., is to preserve, protect, and rehabilitate the childhood home of Black Panther Party Chairman Fred Hampton. We are seeking landmark status for the home and plan to establish it as a museum. We are also facilitating educational services, community gardens, and a meeting place for community development.

I hate that I even have to make this, but with everything this year has put us through, I have to put my pride to the side and ask for help.<br /><br />Throughout this year, me and my family's house has gone through numerous issues. A burst water pipe in the basement burst, which ended up costing $1200 to fix, along with having to have a new sump pump installed (included in aforementioned cost), followed by an $800 water bill that had to be paid due to the water "used" during the pipe break. We paid for that and it was handled. Not long after, the local government had a new mayor elected, who determined that our sump pump pipe was routed incorrectly and was against city codes. We had to pay another $750 to have that corrected. Over the summer, one of the bedrooms (mine, specfically) had an unexpected infestation of wasps. Since we couldn't afford to have someone come out to handle that, I basically just had to tough it out and kill the wasps as they appeared. They eventually stopped showing around the end of September, so we thought that issue was handled.<br /><br />Fast forward to today. We went to our basement (which is pretty much unused aside from storage) because we heard dripping. Turns out there's water dripping from the bottom of the bar. Problem is, there's no sink or pipes connected to that bar, which means the water is connected to the fact that it's raining outside currently. Which means, water is somehow getting into the house and we'd need someone to check out how that's possible and have it repaired. Added on to that, as we investigated the water, we noticed 3 very large black wasps in the basement as well. Way larger than the ones we saw during the summer. That means we'd absolutely need to have someone come out and have those exterminated.<br /><br />At this point, with no one able to work due to the pandemic (my job has been shut down since March - I'm barely maintaining off of less than $200/week in unemployment funds, which pretty much all goes to bills and mortgage) and Prince George's County reverting to Phase 1 as far as COVID goes, we don't have much of a choice in this situation but to ask for help. I'm not really sure how much any of this will cost so the goal is really a random estimate of what a possible roof repair (because that's the only logical place the water could be getting in from) and the extermination would cost, but all donations are appreciated. If you know me, you know that I hate asking for help, so to be at this point - it hurts. But I do appreciate anyone that takes the time out to read this and is able to contribute.

LIFE LINE DMV

Beyond The Binary: Abolition Teach- In is focused on analyzing and accessing the Prison Industrial Complex from an abolitionist politic. Both facilitators are organizers within their own right with focuses on cultivating a stronger community base using restorative practices.<br /><br />The disproportionate numbers of Black and brown people in prisons are evidence that the innately racist system is merely an evolution of slavery. Beyond The Binary: Abolition Teach- In focuses on the ways bills like FOSTA/SESTA have devastating impact on the Black TGNC community, with a specific focus on Black Trans women. Instead of only talking about supporting Black trans women, we are moving to get people involved in direct forms of action by making space for community to dialogue and strategize on anti- carceral solutions for the survival of Black women, TLGBQ,  and TGNC people. <br /><br />We are seeking funds to compensate Black Trans women involved in prison abolition work who will be our guest speakers (this includes food, travel, hotel/airbnb), to provide refreshments and food for the attendees ,  travel for those who are in need, child care for attendees and other basic materials.
