Zac Torrez is my best friend and a retired Army veteran with a heart of gold. He’s always been the kind of person who would do anything for his friends, and he loved traveling to Brazil, always bringing joy and laughter wherever he went. Recently, Zac lost both his mother and his aunt, leaving him alone here in Florida while his closest family is all the way in Colorado. A few days ago, Zac suffered a massive stroke that left him paralyzed and blind on his right side. He now faces years of rehabilitation, and the road ahead is uncertain. To make matters worse, Zac has no medical insurance and is currently in probate trying to handle his mother’s estate. The hospital has already asked when someone can come pick him up, since he has no insurance to cover his care. It’s devastating to think about where he will go or who will take care of him in this vulnerable moment. All funds raised will go directly toward Zac’s medical expenses and rehabilitation, giving him a fighting chance to recover and avoid homelessness. If you knew Zac like I know Zac, you would help.
