My name is Rashad. I am a father of three children living with my wife in Gaza. Until recently, we had a simple home, but it was everything we owned. It gave us a sense of safety, and my children used to laugh and play without fear. In one moment, everything changed… a powerful missile struck our house, and it collapsed over our heads. We found ourselves trapped under the rubble, screaming and trying to survive. That day, I lost my hearing due to the force of the explosion, and I still suffer from it. I also sustained a severe injury to my right hand, and doctors had to place metal plates to stabilize the broken bones. The pain never leaves me, but the most painful thing is seeing my family suffer in front of me. My three children were also injured and suffered serious wounds to their bodies. They were bleeding and crying under the rubble, and I was unable to help them. My wife was also injured and has been suffering from hearing problems since that day due to the intensity of the explosion. We miraculously made it out from under the debris, but we lost everything. Our home became a pile of stones, and all our belongings and memories were buried beneath it. Today, we are living in a tent without shelter. There is no safety, no electricity, not enough water, and no regular food. My injured children sleep on the ground, my wife continues to suffer from the effects of her injury, and despite my own injuries, I try to stay strong for them. We have no income, no work, and no dignified life. We live day by day, just trying to survive. My children ask me when we will return to our home, and I have no answer. I feel helpless because I cannot provide even the most basic needs or proper medical care for them.
