Esraa and Tawfiq are currently living in tent communities in Gaza after being forcibly displaced from their homes in Gaza City. Despite enduring unimaginable loss, including the devastating loss of countless relatives in the ongoing genocide, they remain steadfast symbols of hope and resilience.

Esraa, an accountant, and Tawfiq, an engineer, have stepped into extraordinary roles as community leaders in these challenging times. Together, they are tirelessly working to provide food and shelter for families who have lost everything. They have also become a vital lifeline for healthcare in their community—coordinating with doctors and pharmacists, securing essential medications, and even learning basic medical care to serve those in need.

In addition to their relief efforts, Esraa dedicates her time to educating children and youth of all ages, creating a sense of normalcy and hope for the future. Her students adore her, and her commitment to education is a testament to her unwavering spirit.

A 5-alarm fire destroyed the homes of many of our the Gambian Youth Organization (GYO) community members at 333 East 183rd Street. At the moment, at least 19 people have been pronounced dead, including young children, and dozens others have sustained life-threatening injuries.

We ask that you help us support the victims of this tragedy. All proceeds will be distributed to the families by the Gambian Youth Organization (GYO).

Background:

For the past 10 years, Existence is Resistance has taken hand selected youth, activists, and artists to Palestine and the Occupied '48 Territories on annual tours conducting workshops in various refugee camps and youth centers.

These trips prove to always be a life-changing experience for everyone involved building long-lasting relationships between youth in Palestine and our delegates from various global communities.

Existence is Resistance is raising money to fund their 2019 Tour which includes building a playground in the Black Palestinian Bedouin city of Rahat.

About the Playground:

For the past several years Existence is Resistance has been working on a documentary, "Black in the Holy Land", in collaboration with 1930 Productions which exposed EIR to the different needs of the various Black Palestinian communities.

The 2017 Tour met with a Bedouin Black Palestinian community in Rahat which was in dire need of a communal space for kids. EIR committed to raise funds to help build a playground while creating jobs for the project for members of the community.

A portion of the funds raised will be used to purchase construction material and hiring the necessary staff to build and maintain the park. (Donation Goal: $25,000)

We aim to raise the amount by April 2019 in order to donate the funds on our next tour.

Sponsorship:

Sponsoring a delegate is $2,500 which covers their transportation, accommodation and food throughout the tour. We are looking to take a delegation of at least 30 people in 2019 (Donation Goal: $75,000). EIR plans to make 2019 the biggest delegation in the history of the organization.

Building the park in the Rahat community would be a major achievement for EIR as we start to see years of relationship-building translate into tangible results. We hope this to be one of many projects that assists underserved communities in Palestine.

We greatly appreciate your donation and we hope you enjoy the event.

EIR 2019 Tour & Playground

One of my first loves was my grandpa. He spoiled me with yummy snacks. We would drive around the Bronx and listen to music. He is the reason why I’m such an “old head” when it comes to music. We would watch movies together. Jeepers creepers was our favorite to watch together, and the only scary movie I would watch. Seeing Jeepers Creepers, blonde hair dye, or a baseball game always brings memories flooding back of my grandpa. Even when he could not get out of bed we would still find a way to play hide and seek and other games. I was always quiet and didn’t like many people. For grandpa I would talk up a storm and have fun whether we were in the house or driving around.
My grandpa was not only beloved by my family and me but by many in the neighborhood. I would always remember sitting in the backseat and wonder who this new person speaking to my grandpa was. During the very many family barbecues my grandparents hosted, grandpa would finesse at the grill and there were always people passing by to see him.
Grandparents are always there to spoil you, have fun and teach you life lessons. My grandpa was suddenly taken from me and the rest of my family. Please help my family out in this time of grief to raise money to properly lay grandpa to rest. Any and all donations are deeply appreciated.

-One of his beloved granddaughters,
Marquetta

Everyone thank you in advance for taking the time out to read my daughter’s happy memories of her grandpa.
I will using the procedures raised for the burial of my father to pay Ms. Jones Funeral Services, LLC in Brooklyn, NY

Thank you all for your donations and warm heart felt love.
Cheetah Wilson
