Briana Bromfield

My name is Briana and I am trying to finish my bachelor’s degree in midwifery at the Midwives College of Utah. Even though I have had the calling of being a midwife long ago, I have truly realized my calling as a midwife back when I observed my first home birth in Kona, Hawaii back in summer 2019. Fast forward I have obtained my phase 1, 10 observed births, however, I no longer have access to FASFA funding for my education in in order to complete my education I will need to as of right now pay out-of-pocket. I am a mother of three young children, and I want to be a Midwife, Doula, and birth worker in my community that I felt like I was unable to have during my births and postpartum period of having my children. We often talk about the stresses and struggles of motherhood and the devastating maternal health care disparities amongst women of color. With the fundings and support, of student midwives, you help to support the next generation of midwives to Help bridge gap where there are maternal health deserts throughout the country when you invest in student midwives and student midwives of color to serve all communities. With my education I plan on serving those are most disparage throughout the US and globally with your help we can help to bridge the gap and Help Moore childbirthing families have access to the maternity care that they need. Please help me continue my education, so these goals can be achieved and realized for so many child bearing families throughout the US and globally .
