<div>In regards to the Hernandez family, we recently experienced the loss of a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, Denise Hernandez. Denise recently turned 63 years of age on December 8, and passed away the early morning of December 27, 2021 unexpectedly. As we go through these funeral arrangements and grieving process as a family unexpected, we would appreciate any donation or social media share that you could provide for us during this difficult time to help with the cost of her cremation expenses. <div>Our sun Amen’Ra is a captivating spirit, a beautiful light, with eyes bright like the sun. He brightens up any room with his vibrant smile. He absolutely loves being in nature, his mommy reading to him, playing his djembe drums, and listening to his favorite album on the record player, Bob Marley. He especially loves the songs, One Love, Lively Up Yourself, and Crazy Baldheads.

<div>On March 11th, 2021 our sun Amen’Ra was forcefully taken from us by CPS, who claim we refused a B12 shot that was a matter of life and death, which is an absolute lie. We never refused a B12 shot, and at no point was he on the verge of death. Our Sun was then placed with a foster family without interviewing qualified relatives or friends of our family for placement while they investigate. He was later moved to another caretaker. At the time of being taken from us, he was 15 months old and I had recently discovered I was pregnant. My milk supply got low, and I went to Johns Hopkins All Children’s hospital to get some help, but was forcee left without my baby.

<div>On August 1, I gave birth, at home, to our beautiful happy and healthy baby girl. She ushered in so much peace to our hearts. We named her Ast, which means “the gathering/ coming together…” On August 11, while we were on our way to the Sheriff’s office to do a wellness check, we were surrounded by flashing lights and armed officers, who unjustly took Ast from me on the side of the road, exposing her to all kinds of dangers, with all these strangers around her. Now, I can’t bond with my babby girl and meditate with her on my chest, I can't hold my newborn daughter whenever she cries, or give her the breast milk that my body has produced for her very existence. My body feels when she is hungry, but I don't get to experience the joy of feeding her. I’m missing the most tender moments of her life. This is a nightmare and every second of every day until they Bring our Babies home.

<div>The Manatee County Commissioner recently declared that “ Racism is a county public health crisis.” Our son Amen’Ra is a prime example of that. My family and I are just one in countless other stories of the taking of children from caring parents that go unheard and unseen.

<div>The racial discrimination that our community is facing right now is focused on Police Brutality because of the visibility and documentation. But we don’t think about the other forms of systematic oppression that come as a sub-set. In particular, the Victimization of our children through the Foster Care System. They become the forgotten ones, falling through the cracks because mothers and fathers are too afraid to take on the gigantic task of standing up to a way of thinking and laws that are steeped in colonial times. Parents are coerced to sign plans and documents under mental duress, essentially signing away their rights to a system that doesn't love or understand us.

Hello everyone. Navajo Nation Missing Persons Updates (NNMPU) is a volunteer group organization that was established May 2013. When we have spare time we are able to help with family/offical searches for your missing loved one. We also provide 30 colored Missing Persons flyers to the families. We are in need of supplies such as search equipment (flashlights, walkie talkies, flaggers, ropes, batteries,drones, drone batteries, gas money, safety vests, water/snacks and donate supplies to volunteers of families actively searching for their loved ones). This also includes making more copies of our NNMPU Missing Persons Flyer Booklets that provides a closer look at ALL our missing relatives in one booklet that we pass out to Chapter Houses, security guards, hospitals, detox centers, etc. 80% of the time families are the ones who have to search for their loved ones on their own. It's a reality for so many families that we are the advocates and we are our own search teams It's a overwhelming situation for so many. This trauma has reached our Diné Relatives on so many levels. As volunteers of NNMPU we are trying to help when we can. All donations will go towards  making a difference for our relatives presently and in the future. Help us make that difference. <div>On August 23rd my son was shot multiple times in the back by a Kenosha Police Department officer, after my son broke up an altercation by an unrelated party. The shooting has now left my son critically injured as he fights for his life. The extent of my son’s injuries is unknown, but we remain prayerful as he continues to undergo multiple rounds of operations to save his life.This fund is established to cover my son’s medical expenses, mental and grief counseling for our family and to assist our family in the days to come, as we continue to seek justice for Jacob. A portion of these proceeds will also be used to benefit my son’s 6 children, some of whom witnessed this horrific act of violence. <strong><br />The Problem:</strong> Black and Brown children will face unequal access to safe education in the fall, which will widen educational inequality and achievement gap. <br /><br /><strong>Our Solution: </strong>In response to lack of education pods throughout Black and brown neighborhoods, @Black_Education_Matters has teamed up with other educators and started a mutual aid fund to help build and resource Black Ed Pods .<br /><br />Our mission is to provide safe, inclusive, and accessible learning communities. We will create, resource, and fund developing Black and Brown education pods, as we confront educational injustice by supporting underprivileged communities who seek accessible educational opportunities for this fall and beyond.<br /><br /><strong>What are equity pods?:</strong><br />Our version of a ‘school’ pod, or ‘learning pod’, but Black Ed Pods, or Equity Pods support and affirm Black and Brown children, in addition to being safe, inclusive, accessible, and affordable.<br /><br />Black children must have access to safe education spaces in the fall.  <br /><br />“An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.” <br />~ Martin Luther King Jr. <br /><br />- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - <br /><br />As a solution for fall schooling &amp; child care, parents around the country have started organizing “pandemic pods,” or home schooling pods. Where groups of three to 10 students learn together in homes under the care of parents or a hired educator. The problem is pods can be pricey, complicated to organize and self-selecting. Pods will be most popular among families of privilege.<br /><br />For parents who can organize and afford them, pods seem like an easy choice. But what about the families that can't afford it &amp; do not have access? <br /><br />We are inspired and motivated by the idea of creating various grass-roots led Black education spaces, for us by us, that exist even after COVID-19, But there is work to be done. <br /><br /><strong>List of pods we will be supporting coming soon! As of now we are planning on resourcing 10 Equity Pods <br /><br /></strong>Our Provided Resources:<br /><br />- Toolkit model of a pod<br />- Assist in the beginning steps of creating pods<br />- Locating safe accessible education spaces (city by city)<br />- Locating BIPOC families &amp; student<br />- Locating local available educators/ caretakers <br />- Funding <br />- Educational materials (tips, homeschooling materials, curriculum, etc.)<br />- PPE (personal protective equipment) <br />- Connection to other Black pod educators <br />- Tech support<br /><br />As we grapple with the idea of putting our children in unsafe school environments led by unreliable state leadership, we must demand &amp; create accessible educational options for Black students. <br /><br /><strong>Using community aid &amp; organizing we must provide safe childcare options for every neighborhood.</strong><br /><br />We are fighting for educational equality in a global pandemic, and we need your help. Help Fill Madi's Treasure Box

In 2015 Joshua Allen and CeCe McDonald came together to form the Black Excellence Collective. A grassroots organizing collective for and by Black trans/queer youth to organize for our collective liberation using art, direct action &amp; political education. <br /><br />For 5 years we have operated as a volunteer collective. We've organized rally's and vigils to uplift trans and gender non conforming folks lost to state or interpersonal violence. Hosted countless workshops and trainings to educate our community. And coordinated direct support to folks experiencing housing/food insecurity, incarceration and immigration detention. We have done all of this work without exceeding a budget of $50,000 a year.  <br /><br />Now we find ourselves called to rise up and take action like never before. Our Black trans and queer communities have been disproportionately impacted by the issues that are ravaging our society today. Racism, transphobia, COVID-19, rising rates of unemployment and job loss, housing insecurity, police and interpersonal violence and so much more. <br /><br />We are asking for your help to make a major investment in our youth led, Black trans/queer organizing work that is vital to the health and well being of our communities. We are raising $100,000 so that we can stand up and fight back! We aim to expand our mutual aid work, coordinate direct actions that center and uplift Black trans lives, to increase our educational capacity to train the next generation of youth activists, and increase our support for incarcerated trans folks fighting to survive in U.S prisons, jails &amp; detention centers. <br /><br />The funds will be used as follows: <br />     --$50,000 for bail funds, legal fees and food/ride share support for Black trans/queer youth in NYC (50%)<br />     --$20,000 to build out organizing and arts mentorship program for Black trans/queer youth in NYC (20%)<br />     --$15,000 to send commissary funds to incarcerated or detained Black trans/queer young folks nationally (15%)<br />     --$15,000 to continue mutual aid micro grants program to Black trans folks impacted by COVID-19 nationally (15%)<br /><br />To create a world where #BlackTransLivesMatter we need to organize around the issues that impact our communities while we are still here! We need to create the conditions for our communities to THRIVE, not just survive. <br /><br />Young people, particularly young Black trans/queer people have been some of the world's most valuable contributors to movements for racial and gender justice across human history. Unfortunately, for far too long our work has gone under-resourced and overlooked.<br /><br />During this moment of reckoning in our country the Black Excellence Collective is answering the call to fight for our freedom.
