UPDATE: Juan was in the middle of his immigration hearings when he was illegally deported two months ago. ICE agreed that they should not have deported him and the lawyer is fighting to bring him back to U.S. detention so he can have his day in court. As his lawyer fights for his return – the only chance to reunite with his wife and two young girls, Marta needs our support to pay for the rent and find childcare so she can return to work. **URGENT UPDATE** After months of medical neglect in detention, Arturo’s condition has deteriorated. Please help Maricel cover the cost of his life-saving surgery (details below). Arturo was detained by ICE just days before he was scheduled to have surgery to repair a large hernia. After nearly two months in detention under inhumane conditions and being deprived of medical care, Arturo was deported to Guatemala. This weekend, he was rushed to the ER. Due to the medical neglect he suffered in detention his condition has deteriorated. The doctors say his intestine is on the verge of rupture and needs immediate surgery. Arturo will require over a month of hospitalization, and two surgeries. The total cost is $12,000. His family is able to cover $5,000 from modest savings, but they need our help to for the remaining $7,000. His family misses him deeply and are heartbroken not to be by his side.
