<div>Homerton Neonatal Unit is one of the leading units in London who care for the tiniest of babies, and the whole team there work miracles every day.
</div>
<div>If you can part with some of your hard-earned cash, then not only will you be a total legend, you'll also be helping improve facilities for parents who are going through a really difficult time - what's better than that?
</div>
<div>I'm going to be running six races in six months to motivate you to donate to this very worthy cause. I'll be running the following races from November, finishing with a whole marathon in April!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>November – Chatham 10k
</div>
<div>December – Victoria Park Half Marathon
</div>
<div>January – QE Olympic park 10K
</div>
<div>February – London Winter 10k
</div>
<div>March – Battersea Half Marathon
</div>
<div>April – Brighton Marathon

<div>So, why is Homerton Neonatal Unit important to me? Well, firstly, my amazing wife Flora works at Homerton, working within the maternity and neonatal units there. Additionally, some of you may know that Flora and I were due to be having our babies at Homerton earlier on in the year, however due to lots of medical complexities we sadly lost our babies. Whilst we didn’t end up requiring care at the Neonatal Unit, we spent a long time preparing ourselves to be ‘NICU Parents’, and so improving the care of both babies and their parents on the Neonatal Unit is a cause close to both of our hearts. Please help us raise money to try to ease the difficulties faced by NICU parents.

<div>About Homerton Neonatal Unit
</div>
<div>Homerton Neonatal Unit is one of the leading units who care for babies born extremely preterm in England. We are a 46-cot unit and one of three regional Perinatal services in North Central/North East London.
</div>
<div>We care for babies born from 22 weeks gestation and the smallest babies we care for can weigh less than 500 g (that would be less than a bag of sugar!). We also care for very sick full-term babies who need intensive care treatment.
</div>
<div>Having a baby in the Neonatal Unit is a very difficult time for families. Some stay with us for months and some must travel a very long distance to see their baby as we care for babies across a wide geographical area.
</div>
<div>We constantly look at ways to improve the care we offer and invest in the latest technologies and equipment, beyond what the NHS can provide, and so e would like to improve the facilities we offer to our families to make their Neonatal journey that little bit easier.
</div>
<div>We would be grateful if you would consider donating to our Unit, which will help us support these tiny warriors and their families. Even a small contribution can make a big difference.
</div>

<div>Thanks for taking the time to read my GoFundMe page. So, all the races are booked, the running shoes are on - what are you waiting for?

Six races in six months to raise money for Homerton Neonatal

Hello,<br />We would like to start off our story with an insight to what has been going on with our son Christopher who resides at a wonderful care home in Kent. Since the outbreak of this dreadful virus Covid 19, life at the home took a dramatic turn. Lockdown forced the doors to close on us where prior to Covid it was very much an open door to all family and friends. Christopher would always return home every other week giving him time to catch up with his family and loved ones.<br /><br />Since March 2020 Christopher has only been home for 3 weeks. We are desperate now to see him, to keep that regular contact but unfortunately the care home doesn’t have the space to allow for a Covid safe environment not just for us to visit our son but also for the other 5 young men and their families to spend time together.<br /><br />Given the nature of the boys needs, meeting family and friends in social settings isn’t suitable. Whilst the staff at the care home have worked tirelessly to maintain family contact via phone and facetime it’s so vitally important for us to find a way to have a physical connection with our son once more.<img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/54377104_1612369760915173_r.jpeg" alt="54377104_1612369760915173_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" />The proposed sight where the summerhouse will go.<br /><br />After discussions with the care home manager we thought that the only answer would be to build a summer house in the back garden but we need help!<br /><br />The amount to that needs to be raised is around £7,000 this would allow for an adequate size build and for electrics so we could have lighting, heating and possibly a TV for the boys. Having a summerhouse would open up the boys lives in a big way and help to reunite them with their families that have now been apart for many months.<br /><br /><br />We know this is a difficult time for everyone but we really hope that you are able to support us by making a donation. You would be helping not only us but five other families who are also struggling at the moment.<br /><br />With your help we can bring our families back together.<br /><br />Thank you with all our hearts.<br /><br />Georgie, Simon, Christopher &amp; Geneviève x
