<div>For those of you who may not know, on Tuesday, April 18th, my father was found unresponsive from a Hemorrhagic stroke located at his brain stem. He was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown W.V. and placed in the Neuro Critical Care unit. Since his time in the hospital, he has been on a ventilator due to the stroke as well as pneumonia. More recently it was discovered that part of his colon has failed due to compartment syndrome and he was rushed into emergency surgery. This has also led to kidney failure and for him to be on constant dialysis. He has fought very hard to make it this far but there is still a long road ahead. We are collecting money to help cover the medical bills and to aid with whatever equipment will be necessary after he is out of the hospital. My family and I are beyond grateful for the overwhelming support we have received during this time and we cannot thank everyone enough.

Kendall has been a miracle for the past four years, finding rare cancer before it got out of control and then an emergency liver transplant due to a side-effect of a chemotherapy drug.   Since then we have gotten married and lived a great life.  However, in December of 2020, we were given the heartbreaking news that her cancer has returned.   She has been re-diagnosed with Adrenocortical carcinoma, which is a highly aggressive and dangerous form of cancer.   The disease has attacked this time in multiple locations and Kendall really is again in the fight for her life.   <br /><br />We do not like asking for handouts and we have an amazing support system with family and friends but we are facing a mountain of medical bills that will be coming along as we try everything to beat this cancer.   We are not giving up hope and we pray that the medicines will work.<br /><br />I will also try to update this page regularly with updates.   For example she is currently in the hospital in a lot of pain as they figure out how to start treatment.  It is hard on all of us because of Covid-19 that we are unable to be there with her.  It is really killing, her family, friends, and her husband. <br /><br />Even if it just a prayer whatever you are willing to give will bring a smile to her face.  Please reach out to us if you have any direct questions @ <a href="mailto:[email redacted]">[email redacted]</a>

Kendall's Fight for A  Miracle

Hey there! <br /><br />We are OrcaVue and Gizmatic.  Normally, you would find us building large event experiences (OrcaVue) or prototyping and designing unique gadgets (Gizmatic), but due to a downturn in business and the fact that we have a warehouse of unused machines, we are now manufacturing personal protective equipment (PPE) for health workers on the front lines of the coronavirus crisis. Originally, we planned to make a few face shields for a friend's hospital that was unable to provide them to critical staff members, but we quickly realized that that need is not unique and there are many in need of extra PPE. <br /><br /><br /><strong>PPE Items:<br /></strong><br />We were currently looking at providing face shields and face masks. With face shields being the number one request, these are our current priority.<br /><br />-- Face Shield - Version 1 of the face shields can be found <a href="https://youtu.be/ZSBHuEsktzw" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">here</a> .<br />-- Face Mask - The face masks are made of a variety of cloth sewn together using the Olson pattern. This pattern allows for a filter insert of the users choice. We have been providing two Zep's blue shop towel filters, which in combination with the cotton cloth, are reportedly able to filter 55% of .3micron particles. Not nearly as good as an N95, but much better than a folded bandana which only filters 10%.<br /><br /><br /><strong>How can you help?</strong><br /><br />Please consider supporting us in our effort to manufacture and ship supplies to hospitals and health workers across the U.S. All materials are provided free of cost to recipients.<br /><br />The costs for some of the materials have ranged pretty dramatically over the past couple weeks due to the high demand and short supply, but here are some averages of what we expect materials for each item to cost. <br /><br />-- Face Shield: $2-3<br />-- Face Mask: $3-4<br />-- Shipping: Up to $25 per 20 items depending on location. Many are also delivered locally and we could certainly use the help delivering :D<br /><br />We are fronting manufacturing/material costs currently, so your donation may be used retroactively. However, all donations will be used exclusively for this project. <br /><br />We would also love material! Supplies are veryy limited - we're keeping our fingers crossed (and thoroughly washed) that we will have enough supplies to meet demand, so if you are able to get your hands on material please let us know! <br /><br />Face shield materials:<br />-- SHIELD  <strong>**PRIORITY**</strong> - .02-.06" clear PETG or polycarbonate <br />-- HEADBAND - 1"  elastic (soft knitted)<br />-- HEADBAND - 1" adjustable webbing sliders (low priority, sailrite.com has given us a discount and seems to have plenty of these still)<br />-- HEAD PAD - 1" thick Polyurethane foam<br />-- TAPE - <a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002O16SHW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&amp;psc=1" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Double sided sticky tape</a> <br /><br />Face mask material: <br />-- Cotton polyester mix<br />-- Zep's blue shop towel filter<br />-- Hairbands as ear loops<br /><br /><br /><strong>Delivery:</strong><br /><br />With the face shields supplies we have now, we are planning to distribute to friends (and friends of friends) (and friends of friends of friends) who are healthcare workers working on the front lines, and to local hospitals in the Washington, DC area/other hard hit cities. We will update everyone on where we are sending the PPE as it ships.<br /><br /><br /><strong>We're not 3M...</strong><br /><br />Lastly, please note that we are not 3M... these items are not warranted for any use and have not been approved for any purpose or by any authoritative body.
