My husband and I have always tried to help others whenever we could, whether it was paying for groceries for someone in need or lending a hand without ever asking for anything in return. But after several months of unemployment, we’ve hit rock bottom and are now in the difficult position of asking for help ourselves. We live in a small rural town, and our biggest challenge has been not having a running vehicle or money for transportation. Without a car, it’s nearly impossible for my husband to keep his new job or for me to find work. We’re two months behind on rent, and we’ve relied on the kindness of friends to keep the lights on and put food on the table. Most of our family lives out of state, and we don’t have many close friends nearby, so our options are limited. We are doing everything we can to get back on our feet, but the lack of transportation is holding us back from moving forward. Any money donated will first go toward purchasing a reliable vehicle so my husband can keep his job and I can search for work. If we’re blessed with extra support, we’ll use it to catch up on our past due rent and utilities. It’s incredibly hard and embarrassing to ask for help, but we’re praying for a break and would be so grateful for any kindness you can offer.
