This condition has been life-threatening, and it’s been a long, difficult journey to get my health stabilized. After years of managing symptoms and working with doctors, my labs are finally balanced, which means I can safely have the surgery I need to remove the tumor and live without constant risk. The costs for this surgery are overwhelming. I need to travel to the hospital, pay for the procedure itself, and cover recovery expenses. I’m 21 years old and have been fighting for my health for so long—I just want the chance to live a better, healthier life. At just 21 years old, I’ve faced a lot of challenges with my health, and now I’ve learned that I have a tumor on my thyroid. After months of working with my doctors, my labs are finally stable enough for me to have the surgery I need. Unfortunately, my health coverage isn’t covering any of the costs, and the surgery has to take place in another state, which means I also need help with travel expenses. This surgery will remove my tumor and the infected thyroid, giving me a chance to live a healthier life. While I’ll need to be on medication for the rest of my life, it means my thyroid won’t be overworked anymore and I can finally focus on healing.
