My name is Kelli, and I live in Phoenix, AZ. Recently, a severe rain and hail storm hit my area, and the impact on my finances has been overwhelming. I live on the top floor of my apartment building, and when the storm hit, the rain came down so hard and fast that the roof drains couldn't keep up. Water pooled on the roof until it finally gave way. I heard a strange noise, and before I knew it, the ceiling above my living room collapsed, sending a huge gush of water right over my TV, lamp, TV antenna, my beautiful TV stand, potted tree (fake) and onto the painted walls and down to the carpet. The flooding was so intense that it even leaked down into the apartment below mine.
As someone who is disabled and living on SSI, this situation has been especially hard. I have seizures, degenerative disc disease, chronic neck and back pain, fibromyalgia, and other health challenges. I want to be clear that I am not lazy—I'm doing my best every day. But right now, I need help to replace the personal items that were damaged or destroyed in the storm. These are things I rely on for comfort and daily living, and losing them all at once has been devastating.
I'm reaching out to my community for support during this difficult time. Any help you can offer is deeply appreciated, but please only give if you are able. I DONT wish for you & yours to go without! Thank you so so much for your kindness, generosity, and for being there when I need it most. May our loving Father be with you!
