My best friend's 2-year-old son is a true warrior. He’s currently in Johnson City Medical Center for Children, where he recently underwent surgery to drain infection from both of his lungs and a pocket of infection behind his heart. Despite the doctors’ best efforts, after the drain tubes were removed, his lungs began filling up again. Now, he’s being transported to Vanderbilt in Nashville for further specialized care. His mom is facing the overwhelming challenge of being there for her son while also managing the expenses that come with traveling from Greene County, TN, to Nashville. The costs of travel, lodging, meals, and other needs add up quickly, and she wants nothing more than to be by her little boy’s side every step of the way. This GoFundMe is for my hero—a 2-year-old with a big personality, a Southern drawl, and a smile that can light up a thousand rooms. He has already been through so much, and his family would greatly appreciate any and all help during this difficult time.
