I took Diva to Heritage Veterinary Hospital for a second opinion and to get an official diagnosis. The vet confirmed my worst fears: Diva is in 75% kidney failure. This means only 25% of her kidneys are functioning. She will not get better over time. But, this CAN be managed!
To improve her quality of life and continue with her supportive care, she will need subcutaneous IV fluids once or twice a week to flush her kidneys and keep her as hydrated as possible. The vet mentioned that I could perform these fluid treatments at home. She will also need this expensive anti nausea medicine per week. Everything comes to about $85 per week. $35 for the IV fluid treatment and $50 for the nausea medication.
Because of my current financial circumstances—having to leave my job due to my employer’s fraudulent practices—I desperately need help with her supportive care.
Until I am able to find new employment, I am asking for any donations you may be able to provide. You can contribute to Diva’s GoFundMe or send donations directly via Cash App at https://cash.app/$iloveuz
Or Venmo @Ashley-Nichole13
You can also call and donate to her Vet at Heritage Veterinary Hospital at
(810) 736-8600 and tell them it’s for (Diva Schmidt) owners name is
(Ashley Schmidt).
Every dollar will go directly toward her care for the time she has left with our family and her fur sister, Darla. Although the vet assured us this is no one's fault, my family and I are currently at an emotional breaking point. I pray we can get the help she needs so she can stay with us a little longer. Thank you for your kindness, support and for sharing this.
With love,
