I'm raising funds for my 10-year-old cat, Fatboy. Since November, I've watched him go from a 20-pound cat to just 10 pounds, practically skin and bones and no longer matching his name. When I took him to the vet, Fatboy's thyroid levels were astonishing even to the vet. Since then, he's been dealing with constant hunger, excessive crying, lethargy, less playfulness, and even some aggression toward his siblings because he's so uncomfortable. This has been especially hard because Fatboy and his sister were my first cats. I got them when I was 16 years old as 3-week-old bottle babies, and I was getting up every 3 to 4 hours to feed them. Fatboy has always been my absolute cuddle bug, very dog-like, full of personality, and always ready to steal my food. He didn’t get his name for no reason. He has always been my big boy, and seeing him so thin, uncomfortable, and not like himself has been heartbreaking. Some days he seems great, and then the next he’s lethargic and looks worse than before, and it’s devastating to watch because I know how much life and love he normally has in him. I’m trying to get Fatboy the care he needs, including radioactive iodine treatment and ongoing maintenance vet visits. Right now I need help finding a specialist who can do the treatment, and the sooner the better. I estimate the costs at around $5,000, and I still don’t know what the specialist will charge beyond that. I feel desperate trying to figure this out while watching him suffer and not being able to fix it on my own fast enough. Any donation, no matter the amount, would help me give Fatboy a real chance to feel like himself again. Your support would not only help me cover his treatment and vet care, but also give me hope at a time that feels heartbreaking and overwhelming. If you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser would also mean so much. Thank you for supporting Fatboy and helping me get him the treatment he needs.
