<div>Recently, I was diagnosed with brain cancer—a very rare and aggressive type of glioma called H3 K27M, a diffuse midline glioma that is wrapped around my brainstem. It’s about the size of an orange.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>What’s even more shocking is that this tumor has likely been growing silently for over 15 years, even though this type of cancer is typically fast-growing and most commonly found in children. Most people diagnosed with this only live about two years—but somehow, I’ve beaten the odds so far.
</div>

</div>
<div>How This All Started
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Back in March, I began getting short headaches when I laughed—only lasting about 20 seconds. Over time, the pain got worse, showing up when I bent over or strained in any way. I finally saw a neurologist, had an MRI, and was sent straight to MD Anderson to see a neurosurgeon.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On July 23rd, I had another MRI, and the neurosurgeon believes there’s a safe way to do a biopsy. If confirmed, we’ll move forward with radiation therapy to hopefully slow the tumor’s progression.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>There’s currently no cure for this type of tumor—but there is hope. The FDA is meeting soon to potentially approve a new drug called ONC-201, which could slow the tumor’s growth—or even shrink it—and give me more precious time with my family.
</div>

<div>I haven’t been able to work during all of this—between nonstop scans, doctor’s visits, and waiting for insurance to begin in August. My husband Cleon is doing everything he can: working full time, taking care of me, and being an incredible dad to our daughter, Kya.

<p>This past Tuesday, Nashville was devastated by a horrific tornado. Brandon and Kaylee's condo was directly in the pathway of destruction. Without even a moment to grab anything other than their dog Gypsy, Brandon and Kaylee escaped just seconds before the tornado completely destroyed their home and nearly everything inside. Furniture, personal belongings, and mementos are all gone.<br /><br />We thank God that Brandon and Kaylee survived the horrible devastation. But they need our help. Please consider giving so that Brandon and Kaylee can begin to rebuild their lives.

<p>To all Scooby's loving friends and family. Scooby is on his last 24 hours of life if he does not have this emergency surgery. He was diagnosed with Septic Peritonitus last night which in a nut shell is a bacterial fluid that has spread into his abdomen.The surgey can cost anywhere from $3,000 up to $6,00.00 at the best offer from the University of Florida Verterninary Hospital. I am hoping to drive up there immediatly today and have at least half of the funds by time I arrive. <br /><br />Scooby is my everything and this is my only chance in saving his life. Please log back on to check me out.  <br /><br />As you'll be able to see, I am energetic and enjoy being on the go.  This is especially why my present circumstances are so difficult.  I've been recently diagnosed with Steven Johnson Syndrome, which is a debilitating illness which physically affects me both internally as well as externally,  as you may see from the posted pictures.  It causes blistering and skin loss both inside and outside my body including internal organs.  It is treated the same as someone who has been burned in a fire.  For this reason, I have been flown from my home in Albany, GA to a special burn unit in Augusta, GA to the 'Doctors Hospital'.  I am presently in an induced coma and medically paralyzed as part of the treatment plan to help me cope with pain.   This happened unexpectedly and progressed rapidly.   At best, the medical team states this is the result of a viral infection without knowing the exact cause. <br /><br />This all took place just after the start of a new school year.  I started off with very good grades and my teacher was already prepping me to be placed in the gifted program of academic learning.   Of course, now everything has changed due to my medical crisis, but it is not over for me.   There is a long medical journey ahead for both me and my family,  but I'm not giving up.   The medical team feels I am capable of making close to a full recovery,  which means I will dance again,  attend school,  and enjoy all of the same things in life that any others also enjoy. <br /><br />To make that happen,  as quickly as possible, my family and I are desperately in need of your help.  Thank you for visiting my site,  and please know that  both my family and I thank you for your love, support, and prayers.
