DJ Acea is a beloved figure in the Los Angeles DeeJay scene, known for his passion and dedication to sharing music with the community. On the night of June 7th, tragedy struck when someone broke into his van and back house, stealing all of his DJ equipment, an Apple laptop with his entire music collection, a Serato DJ controller, a mixing board, a QSC, a PA board, microphones, and wires. The loss was not only financial, but also deeply personal, as the music collection represented years of hard work and creativity.
Acea has been playing music since the '70s, starting in New York and performing across Florida, Chicago, Wisconsin, Detroit, Texas, and California. His talent and dedication have brought him to venues like Menlo Club, Dodgers Club on Broadway, Cheerios Lounge in Leimert, Pied Piper, Marla Gibbs Memory Lane, Mavericks Flat, Bottomline, Mr J's, and Jackie Robinson Post. He is a pillar of the local music scene, and his absence is felt by many who cherish his contributions.
The generous donations from this fundraiser will help DJ Acea purchase new equipment and download music so he can return to the profession he loves. Any help is deeply appreciated to get this LA Icon back on the Club scene. Please share and support if you can.
