<div>As many of you know, back in 2023, I packed my bags and moved from Ireland to Spain to care for my parents, both of whom were battling lung cancer. Sadly, my dad couldn’t pull through and passed away last year.

<div>This journey has been incredibly tough—physically, emotionally, and financially. My mum has gone through multiple surgeries, immunotherapy, and radiotherapy, and despite everything, she continues to fight with such strength and grace.
</div>

<div>Watching her endure this has been heartbreaking, and trying to be her full-time caregiver while juggling the emotional and financial burdens has been overwhelming.
</div>

<div>We’re doing everything we can, but the living expenses are piling up quickly. We’ve put in every cent we have, but we genuinely need help to keep moving forward.

Support my mum’s journey through stage 4 lung cancer

<div>Hi! A few people have asked me to put a <strong>GoFundMe</strong> page up so here it is!

<div>In Jan 2024 my little car was hit by a monster sized SUV &amp; what I had hoped would be relatively minor injuries have turned into life changing <em>Brain Trauma </em>that even broke my Septum inside my skull along with a shopping list of assorted “minor” injuries that turned out not to be so minor. The staff at the <strong>Urgent Care in South Calgary </strong>were brilliant &amp; we’re so good at helping me stay calm while I was ‘trapped’ in the spine and neck stabiliser. I have surgery in January to fix my nose so I can breathe properly which should really help my recovery accelerate.

<div>I’m grateful that I have been given a <strong>1 in 3 chance of a full recovery</strong> &amp; am focused on that as it came<em> so close to zero. I </em>still have flashbacks of staring at the tarmac rushing towards me as my car was rolling over sideways after spinning several times while multiple airbags were exploding in my face and playing hot potato with my head. It was terrifying. I was so grateful when the rolling stopped and the car uprighted itself with one final slow spin. Alive, even if I am currently less than I was, is still profoundly better than dead. I still have things to do in life. People I love &amp; want to be here for.

<div>i am also learning to accept help when offered, which has been a hard lesson for someone as independent as I am. I am getting some disability pay but if anyone would care to honour me with a donation to help me keep up with monthly bills, transportation to medical /therapy appointments, housekeeping, dietician &amp; coaching, speech therapy, or the occasional fancy salad at <em>Bow Tie Pizza</em> I would be grateful &amp; look forward to when I can pay it forward in a few years.

No more concussions for me  - TBI recovery costs

<div>Hi, my name is Nisreen Abuwarda ( Alkahlot ) and I'm a Canadian-Palestinian woman who lives in Ontario. To help my family members leave Gaza and get to Canada, I'm writing to ask for your help. My family is made up of 25 people (16 adults and 9 kids). They are my dad, mother-in-law, brothers, sisters, and their kids.

<div>The current situation for my family is as follows:

<div>They had to leave the north of GAZA on October 14 and didn't bring anything with them. They now live Khan Younes city.
</div>
<div>The homes of my family were completely bombed and destroyed. They had to leave the city and go south, but they had no one to stay with them.
</div>
<div>My dad has high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease. He is 72 years old.
</div>
<div>All of my siblings no longer have jobs or places to live. They also don't have any ways to get help. They are living in a tent.
</div>
<div>Immigration Minister Marc Miller announced the new temporary visa program for Canadians in the Gaza Strip who have family in Canada. This came after months of requests from Canadians in the conflict area who have extended family living in Canada. Miller said that life in Gaza was "unlivable," and he plans to start a temporary visa program on January 9, 2024. He said again how hard it is to leave the besieged Palestinian territory. Mr. Miller says that Canada is not getting any guarantees about the departure of extended family members on its list.

<div>Also, people who have to evacuate and their families who live in Canada will not get any money from the Canadian government. This means that my family will have to pay for all of our travel costs as well as our costs to settle in Canada.
</div>
<div>Because of this urgent need, I have started a fundraising campaign to get our families back together. I'm asking our friends, family, and community to help us with this important effort.
</div>
<div>I'm trying to get enough money to cover the following general costs per person:
</div>
<div>The cost of travel is based on 25 people. ($3800 per person)
</div>
<div>Every applicant has to pay an visa application fee's and as waiting for the paperwork, they will stay in Cairo for three to four weeks.
</div>
<div>Tickets for 25 people to fly from Cairo to Canada.
</div>
<div>For the first three months, until they find employment, the settlement costs are as follows: Rent, furniture and winter clothes that are right for the weather. Plan for health care. They lost all of their clothes when their homes were destroyed.
</div>
<div>Let's come together as a community and show empathy and support for each other so that those in need can get help and hope. Help us in our truthful journey to heal hearts and bring my loved ones safely to Canada.

<div>These funds are what I'm trying to raise to give my family hope and quick comfort.

Help my family as they leave Gaza to Canada

<div>On the night of April 19th 2023, a dangerous tornado producing storm passed through most of the Oklahoma City metro, leaving a wake of destruction in its path.

<div>What started off as a day like any other at 1 Day Ranch in Bethel Acres, unexpectedly turned into long night of inventorying physical and emotional damages, searching for animals and debris clean up. 
</div>

<div>Maeghan, Justin and the rest of the Olsen family who live on the ranch are no strangers to the absolute devastation that these kinds of storms leave behind. I could type for days just on the subject of how their own lives have been affected by tornados or how without a second thought, they have been there before clouds even part, ready to do whatever they can to lessen those effects for both people and animals alike, but I’m not going to do that.

<div>What I am going to do is ask for help. While I’m sure Maeghan would disagree and try to give it to someone else, this family truly deserves the same kind of help that they selflessly give daily.

<div>The most important part is that everyone is okay. But the damages incurred are severe and it’s going to take a lot of time, money and strength to rebuild and move forward. 
</div>

<div>Sheds and structures need to be rebuilt, roofs need to be replaced, cars need to be fixed, limbs and debris need to be removed- all of this while still caring for an abundance of residents, human and animal alike.
