What they care about

Z’s mom ✨

Mama passed gently away just a bit ago. She’s off somewhere on her next journey in the cosmos now, no pain, only peace. I’m so sorry to everyone who knew and loved her. She fought like hell. Thank you to everyone for being so generous and kind through all of this. It will not be forgotten. Details regarding the Celebration of Life will be shared as soon as we have them firmed up. We love and appreciate you all. Teresa loved you and always will.
Mama just went back into the hospice unit at her request, because she doesn’t want my dad or my family to have to take care of the messy stuff and she will have round the clock care. I don’t know if I can come up with much else to say except for keep her in your prayers for a peaceful transition, and to please keep sharing.
As of this morning, the nurse and the grief counselor have estimated that we have days now rather than weeks. We’re all kind of still not quite processing this and bracing for what’s to come, but Mama is comfortable and calm in her favorite place (her bed, of course) and she’s well taken care of. I will try to keep everyone posted as best I can, but if we could try to keep sharing and posting that would be a huge help. We’re getting close to the goal but we’ve had to use some for different expenses as they come so every little bit is deeply appreciated. Love you guys so much.
We visited today at the “doctor’s” and Z was so happy to see Nana (arguably even more excited for the elevator) She’s feeling better and keeping down her meds and some solids, so barring anything unforeseen she will be cleared to come home and hopefully continue with her wishes to remain here as long as she can. She relayed that she would still like to limit visits, not because she doesn’t want to see friends and family, but she is very tired and may be indisposed much of the time. She encourages reaching out to either me or my dad and we will have to take it hour by hour. She along with the rest of us is aware that she will probably be back and forth from home and the hospice unit depending on her health needs and wellbeing, so I will try to keep everyone posted. Thank you all so much once again. If you pray, now would be the time to send peace and comfort her way.
Today at around 6:00pm my mom was transported to the hospital, as she started having signs and symptoms that required a higher level of care than we can manage at home. There, my dad was told that they would like to keep her for a 24h evaluation so they could get a more accurate picture of her remaining survival, however they did say to prepare for one to two weeks. The hospice unit is lovely, she has a very nice room and is resting peacefully and comfortably. She will likely remain there for the duration of her passing. She and our family would like to minimize visitors, as she will likely be sleeping much of the time anyway, but she will be making requests if she feels well enough and loved ones will be notified. She does love flowers, but I don’t want to send her exact location out at this time, so they can be sent to Lehigh Valley Hospice—17th Street addressed to her name. You have all been wonderfully generous and kind and your support means everything to us. I would ask now that we’re almost halfway to our goal to please keep sharing as much and as often as possible. Love you all.
Wow, you guys. In just about a week we’re a third of the way to our goal! I cannot thank you all enough for showing up for us. Some of these names I haven’t heard in quite a while, and yet you showed us your heart and your kindness and I just appreciate you all so much. Please continue sharing far and wide. I’m trying to imagine myself coming up with a video to put on Instagram or TikTok but that’s not really my style so if anyone has any advice please shoot it my way. Love you all.
