Odhi has been a part of my family for six years, first as a special birthday gift for my sister and now as my loyal companion. After my sister welcomed her baby, Odhi became my responsibility, and since then, we’ve been inseparable. He’s a big rescue dog with a huge heart, and although I can’t take him everywhere because of his size and behavior, we share adventures hiking, going to the beach, visiting family, or just relaxing at home watching movies. Odhi has been by my side through every up and down for nearly five years, and I want to continue giving him the best quality of life possible. Two years ago, Odhi was diagnosed with a mast cell tumor in his left back leg. At first, it was the size of a peanut, but as I was still in college and working part-time, I couldn’t afford the expensive treatments and medications required for larger dogs. Each vet visit was costly, especially since Odhi needs to be sedated due to his rescue background. Despite saving and working two jobs plus freelancing, the expenses have piled up, and I’ve had to pause his treatment more than once. Now, the tumor has grown, and surgery is urgently needed. Veterinary care in the US is very expensive, so I’ve been exploring international options, hoping to take Odhi to Mexico where the same treatment might be more affordable. This plan includes not only medical costs but also travel expenses, making it even more challenging. I am reaching out for help because I want to give Odhi the chance to live a healthy, happy life.
