Cory is a 22-year Navy veteran who has always worked hard to provide for his family. In January, his world changed when his wife passed away suddenly, leaving him as the primary caregiver for their 22-year-old nonverbal autistic son, Connor. Cory’s daughter Kristen, who is 30 years old and a full-time student, is helping with caregiving, along with Cory’s 13-year-old daughter and 10-year-old grandson. Together, they are doing their best to support each other through this difficult time. Cory’s wife was the heart of the family, managing daily care for Connor and helping with the needs of everyone in the home. Now, Cory must take time off work to care for his son, which has limited his income and made it harder to keep up with everyday expenses like the mortgage, car payments, food, and household products.
