<div>Hi, my name is Durie Burns. I am a member of the Brotherhood Group of Buffalo, New York and a former teammate of Randy Smith. The Brotherhood and I are seeking funds to erect a Statue of Randy Smith at Buffalo State University (Formerly known as Buffalo State College). Randy was a remarkable athlete and person at Buffalo State University.

</div>

<div>He was born in Wingate, North Carolina on December 12, 1948. He passed away on June 4, 2009. As a child, Randy struggled with a severe stuttering problem but found solace in sports. He excelled in soccer, basketball, baseball and track at Bellport High School on Long Island, New York; where he was so successful that their gymnasium was<span style="font-family:'-apple-system-body';"> later named in his honor.</span>

</div>

<div>In 1967, Randy was persuaded by the coaches to attend Buffalo State to participate in Track &amp; Field, based on his skills and abilities. Early on in his college career, he became an All-American in the triple jump, and in his senior year, he made All-American in soccer and became the leading scorer for the Bengals team, ranked in the top five nationally.

</div>

<div>While becoming an All-American in basketball at Buffalo State, Randy set numerous records, some of which still stand today. At 6'3', he became the leading scorer and rebounder in Buffalo State history; and set the home gym scoring record of 39 points.

</div>

<div>Randy was drafted by the Buffalo Braves (aka the San Diego Clippers) in the seventh round of the NBA draft in 1971. He went on the become a starting forward in his rookie year. He later became the captain of the Braves and the Clippers; where he still holds at least one of the team's scoring records to this day.

</div>

<div>Despite facing many challenges and naysayers throughout his career, Randy's unwavering drive and determination made him one of the best athletes in American history. There is no person more deserving of the honor of having a statue erected at Buffalo State University.

</div>

<div>Randy was and always will be the best athlete to ever attend Buffalo State University. There will never be another athlete with his skills and abilities. There is no other school in the United States that can claim a 3-sport All-American, an NBA "All-Pro", an NBA 'All-Star Game MVP" and an "NBA Ironman". Randy is the only American athlete to garner all these awards.

</div>

<div>A statue in his honor on the campus of Buffalo State University would be a fitting tribute to this remarkable athlete and his enduring legacy. Donations are greatly appreciated and needed to honor this Buffalo State “Hero.” Every dollar helps. Your contributions will honor Randy Smith and help to inspire future athletes at Buffalo State University.

<div>Hello friends and family of Patric Young. We are coming together at this time to support Patric and his growing family as he continues to recover and transition to Craig Rehab Hospital in Englewood, CO.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As many of you know, just two weeks before his wedding, Patric was involved in a horrible car accident on June 29 while in Nebraska. (<a href="https://www.news4jax.com/sports/2022/07/04/former-providence-gators-forward-patric-young-recovering-after-car-crash/)This" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><a href="https://www.news4jax.com/sports/2022/07/04/former-providence-gators-forward-patric-young-recovering-after-car-crash/" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.news4jax.com/sports/2022/07/04/former-providence-gators-forward-patric-young-recovering-after-car-crash/</a>)This</a> was devastating news for all of us to experience and we thank each of you for being there for him in your special way.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are happy to share that in the middle of this difficult time, his spirit and work ethic are still 100% in true Patric fashion. He is improving every day and advancing well with his physical therapy. However, he has a long recovery ahead.

</div>
<div>This is where we ask for your help. We are raising funds to support some of his medical bills that are not covered by insurance. (Most of his treatment will be covered, however some items are not covered). Kindly consider donating to help him and Whitney cover costs for the airlift from the site of the accident to the hospital in Sioux Falls. This air lift unfortunately is out of network for his insurance plan. Funds will also be used to help purchase a shower buddy chair, getting his vehicle adapted with arm controls so that he can drive, and adaptive ramps and doorways in their home. All dollars raised will go directly to medical bills and medical devices.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for all your prayers and support at this time. Keep them coming!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please note: We will post updates on this page to keep you informed on his recovery and growing family life.

Mary Ann's Mission is dedicated to helping a Mary Ann Rago, a woman who has touched so many lives through her kindness, positive energy, and thoughtful ways, get back on her feet and live her life to the fullest! <br><br>Mary Ann is a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to everyone she encounters. She has faced some life changing events within the last five years. Now, Mary Ann's family and friends have rallied around her to try to give back for all she has given to us. <br><br>In August 2009, Mary Ann lost her high school sweetheart and husband of 32 years to a sudden heart attack. Frank Rago was the love of her life. A large loss was felt for Mary Ann, their daughters, and the lives of all that loved him. In May 2011, while still grieving Frank's loss, Mary Ann developed breast cancer. But in true Mary Ann fashion, she pushed the surgery, radiation and chemotherapy with a smile! She continued to work at the veterinary clinic while undergoing treatments. Mary Ann loves her job working with animals and the people she encounters every day! Since Mary Ann was living on her own, it was not only a financial necessity to continue working, but also gave her purpose throughout her days. Through lots of love and prayers, the treatments worked for a short time and the cancer was in remission. <br><br>This past June 2013, Mary Ann found out that her cancer returned and traveled to her spine. She has undergone radiation on her vertebrae and hopefully, it is gone for good! However, the second time has presented more physical challenges on her body and the pain makes it difficult for Mary Ann to work and maintain her active lifestyle. <br><br>She would like to be able to play more with her 2-year old granddaughter, Elina ,but it has been difficult to move some days. Mary Ann worries about her medical expenses and household bills piling up when she can not work. So, Mary Ann's family and friends have decided to show her how much we love her and want her to focus on getting healthy, and not stress about finances! <br><br><b>If you would like to contribute to Mary Ann's Mission, you can donate ANY amount! </b>Every little bit helps! Our goal is help Mary Ann with everyday expenses if she can't work for a while. If you could support this endeavor, it will be life-changing!<br>
<br>Like all illness, we were challenged to look at life differently and to truly appreciate our time here and enjoy it with the people we love. We want Mary Ann to feel the love she has given to so many people! <br><br><img src="http://3b4efb995be6c5c64252-c03f075f8191fb4e60e74b907071aee8.r12.cf1.rackcdn.com/464545_1370094933.7283_multi.jpg" width="100%" alt="" class="not-resizeable">Thank you for your love and prayers,<br>Mary Ann's Family and Friends<br><br><br><br><br><br><br>
