Ronnie Franklin is a family friend who was struck by a drunk driver with multiple priors around midnight on September 16 while he was at work, picking up cones on Broadway in Eureka, California. Ronnie is only 20 years old and is now in serious condition in a hospital in the Bay Area, and his loved ones are facing the unimaginable as they stay close to him during this critical time.
<br>
<br>
 Right now, Ronnie’s family needs support so they can take time off work and travel to be with him. Being present with Ronnie matters deeply, and the costs of making that happen add up quickly at a time when their focus should be on him, not on finances.
<br>
<br>
 Donations will help cover Ronnie’s family’s travel costs to the Bay Area, and any remaining funds will go toward Ronnie’s medical expenses. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help ease some of the burden on his family as they navigate this devastating situation.
<br>
<br>
 Please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser to support Ronnie Franklin and his wonderful family. Your kindness can help them stay by his side and face the days ahead with a little less financial strain.

<div>On the night of January 21st, a horrible fire broke out in my sister Paula’s apartment complex. Though the fire started downstairs, it quickly moved into the surrounding 3 units, including my sister’s upstairs unit. My sister, my mom Nita, and my 5 year old niece Ruby were all home when they suddenly heard panic outside. The fire had quickly spread and thankfully my brother in law Tony was just getting home from a run. He was able to kick down the door and get all 3 of them out safely.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Tragically their sweet kitties, Reynaldo and Praline, were lost in the fire. My mom tried to get them out, but they barely escaped themselves. This is an unfathomable tragedy, especially for my niece who called them her babies.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>All of their belongings were also lost. Besides the tragedy of losing all their items that had sentimental value and can never be replaced, they also both work from home and lost their work equipment.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Just writing this and being on the other side getting the phone call, my heart has been absolutely broken. I cannot imagine the pain they’re going through having almost lost their lives, and now needing to completely rebuild. I’m starting this in hopes that through community, we can at least help make the financial burden of this tragedy lessened.

Help My Sister Rebuild After Fire Loss

<div>Our good friend Dustin Hanson was taken from us to soon in a tragic accident, wanting to raise money to get him back home from California and for his family to help pay for funeral expenses and anything else they mite need in this difficult time.. anything will help and be greatly appreciated.... Not sure of when exactly his memorial will be,he has to be brought back home to Idaho first..

<div>Earlier today a tragedy occurred when my son Elijah (19) and his best friend Matt (20) were riding their motorcycles. A truck pulled out in front of them and Matthew collided with the vehicle, resulting in his death. Matthew is one of the greatest kids I’ve ever known. He is the only son of his parents. I am asking the community of Redding to rally around Matthew’s parents with financial support to cover the costs of a funeral. No amount is too small, everything helps! Please contribute to honor the memory of a very spectacular young man.

<div>Hi, my name is Jaimie. We wanted to share some difficult news with you. My son in law, Emanuel Silveira was involved in a serious boating accident. He sustained significant injuries, including burns covering 60% of his body from head to toe, and is currently receiving medical care at UC St. Francis Burn Center SF. His expected stay is 3 months due to many estimated surgeries which begin tomorrow morning August 15th, 2024. Mariah and their two boys, Myles 2 &amp; Karter 1, are very grateful he is alive. The boat pictured is gone due to the engine exploding. We appreciate your understanding and support during this very sad and challenging time. We ask for your thoughts and prayers as he begins his recovery.

<div>On July 4th 2024, while watching fireworks at the beach in Crescent City Ca, my 3-year-old nephew was struck by a mortar. This ultimately resulted in him coding for what felt like 30 minutes. His lung collapsed which filled with blood, this resulted in his heart to stop beating. He has burns on his body, and inside of his body. Currently he is being life-flighted to a more equipped hospital in Portland Oregon. There he will potentially undergo surgeries and other life-saving measures. At the moment there is no answer to if he will wake up, and if he does what state his brain will be in, considering he did not have a heartbeat for an extended amount of time.

<div>My name is SuZanna Church I am the aunt, his mom and dad are by his side right now. I'm asking our friends family and community for any sort of help that they can provide for their family. They're not going to be able to stay with their baby right now meaning there's going to be hotel expenses, food expenses and other expenses resulting from not being able to work. This accident wasn't forseen an unfortunately like most people nowadays, there isn't a backup fund for this family.
</div>

<div>*Update Baby B is in Portland now, he is on a vent and in an induced coma. he will remain in this state for a few days to try and heal his lung. He is currently "stable". Still no word on brain function.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am his aunt, the direct family will use the donations for medical expenses like the air travel and hospital stays. The money has been transferred to the mother.

<div>Baby b update 7/7/24
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He has been taken off the paralytic, today they tried to lower the ventilator oxygen, to get him to breathe on his own. Baby was not having it, he was trying to breathe differently or against the vent. They turned it back up to take over. They will try again! He will need skin graphs in the future, potentially for his burns. His lungs are also not getting worse meaning the contusions on them are not getting bigger or darker or harder or anything like that. And finally, they did discover he had a fever, they found the cause and he has influenza h. They are starting antibiotics now.

<div>Baby B update 7/8/24
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The docs were able to lower his vent oxygen ouutput. This is good because it gives his lungs a change to get stronger! He woke up today but it was unproductive and they immediately put him back to sleep. That's it for today!

<div>7.9.24
</div>
<div>Hey all Baby b is still sedated , a little more now because they had to move him back to the breathing machine that does a little more for him, due to him having influenza H. They also upgraded the size of his breathing tube to help make it easier to get phlegm out . The burn drs are still saying they would like to do a skin graft , just not until he has a little less going on. Other than this we are doing about the same , the dr reminded us this is a marathon not a sprint.

<div>Baby B update-- 7.10.24
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Baby B is taking a step back for now but that's expected. He developed a bad fever, spiking at 104. The cause is undetermined right now. He has woken up a few times and pulled at his tubes. The doc says that's a good thing though, that he may be aware. The docs are thinking skin graft neph week (maybe). They put him in a little chair to help get some of the yuckies out of his lungs. The buildup is pretty bad. The doctors say that it's okay to go back and fourth to healing and struggles. It's so worrisome to see little dude like this. I can't wait for his momma to hear him talk.
</div>
<div><br />

<div>Baby B update 7/11/24
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Yesterday I mentioned baby b had a high fever. They found out that ontop of the influenza h, he has strep in his lung. The doctors are treating it and don't seem to be super worried. He is getting new sedation meds today for no special reason, just because. He was able to open his eyes for a moment during med transition. My sis said it was nice to see him's big brown eyes ❤️. Evidently he also was opening his eyes last night according to a nurse he was following the cartoon they had playing with his eyes. It's unconfirmed but a very sweet thought and very special the nurse shared all that with us. We love you #babybstrong

<div>Baby B update 7/15/2024
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div> Unfortunately baby B has continued to fight an infection. This has caused high fevers now vomiting and delirium. During the last few days, the doctors have done cultures and found influenza h, and strep. We/they thought that was it. Well as of today that's not the case. There is still a mystery to be solved to get back on the healing path. Baby B is fighting off a very high fever and now the new symptom of vomiting and delirium. Please please keep him in mind. He needs good vibes and strength. We love you B

<div>I'm Shoshanna.
</div>
<div>I've been a part of MANY community events in our area, and am so happy to have grown up in Arcata, and have chosen to raise my family here.
</div>
<div>Steve DeMarino is a great guy I've actually know a bit since college, and we've lived in the same neighborhood for about 13 years. Our kids have been at the same schools, and I've forever admired Steve as a SUPER hard-working rockstar provider for his fantastic family.
</div>
<div>He is the main caregiver for his lovely wife Michelle, who requires full-time care due to her massively disabling case of Multiple Sclerosis which has gotten progressively more consuming over the last decade.
</div>
<div>I last saw Steve where he helps customers in the Electrical Department at Pierson's on December 14. It was so great to see him and catch up in person. On Friday, December 15, just 20 minutes after I had driven north on 101 in our busy rush hour traffic, Steve was one of the cars involved in a terrible crash on North bound 101 at Bayside Cutoff.
</div>
<div><a href="https://kymkemp.com/2023/12/15/traffic-being-diverted-onto-bayside-from-101-after-multi-vehicle-crash" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><a href="https://kymkemp.com/2023/12/15/traffic-being-diverted-onto-bayside-from-101-after-multi-vehicle-crash/" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://kymkemp.com/2023/12/15/traffic-being-diverted-onto-bayside-from-101-after-multi-vehicle-crash/</a></a>
</div>
<div>Basically a car failed to stop on Bayside Cutoff crossing 101. Steve's car couldn't avoid hitting this car, he spun, got t-boned by another vehicle, and it was a major injury crash needing several ambulances and vehicle extractions.
</div>
<div>Steve suffered several broken ribs and a broken hip.
</div>
<div>He is doing as well as he can, and is now in a rehab unit. He'll be there about a month, then still recovering for 3 more months.
</div>
<div>This amazing family that I've called friends for over a decade is very much in need of any help you may be able to share at this crisis moment. They are looking at big medical bills, and with Steve being out of work AND unable to provide the care for Michelle that he gives they are really in a bad position.
</div>
<div>I consider it an honor to be able to get this Go Fund Me underway to help my friends at this awful time, and I hope you'll help make the New Year less stressful for them and offer them financial support and know the love our generous community always steps up to share.
</div>
<div>Thank you for anything you're able to help with, and for sharing.
</div>
<div>It means a lot to me to help this great family right now, today, this holiday.

Let's help a rockstar dad and husband after crash

<div>Hello, my name is Gicela and I am creating this go fund me account to help our dear friends that are going through a hard time. Over the weekend their home caught on fire with the bad weather. They lost their puppy in the fire . Going through something like this is devastating but must be especially hard when it happens right before the holidays. If it's in your heart to help support and bless this family it would be most graciously appreciate it. Blessings and happy holidays. Please share with your loved ones hoping to be able to reach our goal to lend them a hand. Any contrubution would greatly be appreciated!
</div>
<div>*Note- They did not own, they were renting...I dont believe they had renters insurance-we never think that something like this can happen to us.

Remembering Aaron McKay

<div>On 2-3-2023, we lost our dad to a tragic accident. They were almost home from their one-year journey across the United States; a bucket list trip. They almost made it home, but Roger didn't. Julie is now in the fight of her life, halfway across the United States. She needs her children with her. If you can help, we could sure use it. I love you so much, my beautiful humans. You're a community that has always supported my family. I feel so blessed to come from where I do and I just want to thank all of you for all the prayers, love, and support you have offered my family in this most devastating time of our lives.
</div>

Julie's Long Recovery and Trip Home to Trinity

<div>I have made this in order to <strong>alleviate the burden for the family,</strong> putting Camile and their puppy to rest.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On the evening of Tuesday, January 17th, 2023 our beloved Camile was walking their dog, and was struck suddenly by a vehicle- which ended the life of <b><i>Camile and their puppy, Wilson</i></b>. Camile was 21, and a student heading back to their last semester at Cal Poly Humboldt. Camile was so close to completing their Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, studying at Cal Poly Humboldt. Their goal was to use this degree to coordinate and treat the underlying causes for homelessness, and help people facing mental illnesses to regain stability and find self-sufficiency.
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div><span style="letter-spacing:0.0085px;">Others have reportedly been hospitalized by the accident, caused by a driver who experienced a presumed medical emergency. This was an due to the efforts of the community, the family knows that there was no hate or malice connected to the event which has provided relief within the early hours of chaos preceding their awareness...</span>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The family feels no hate nor malice towards anyone involved, and wishes for the recovery of those present at the scene....
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The cost of expenses is the average cost of putting somebody to rest in CA. I will update if anything changes and the details as to why.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I want to thank all those in advance for their support, prayers, and expressions of love. Camile especially is loved by their mother and father, sister Lily, and brother, Dillon.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>To my community, and all those affected by the loss of Camile, I am deeply sorry. It's important to remember that the loss of somebody so close, does not exactly mean they have completely left us. Camile's presence- their very legacy- lies in the hands of each and every one of us who have had the gift of knowing Camile, and their kindheartedness, gracious spirit, and nurturing nature. . It's what we do from now, until our eventual time to leave this earth, that will keep Camile with all of us, and those we touch, forever.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Much love to all.</strong> ✌️
