My name is Gloria, and I am a senior citizen living on a limited income. Recently, my vehicle was involved in an accident when a javelina collided with the left front fender, causing major damage. While I was waiting to repair the body damage, I had to use some of the funds I received for a new battery and starter, as the car wouldn’t start. Now, the sensors are preventing the car from starting at all, and I am facing a high deductible for collision and comprehensive coverage. I don’t know how much fixing the sensors will cost, but I know it won’t be cheap. Having my car repaired is essential for me. I rely on my vehicle to get to doctors’ appointments and to run daily errands. Without it, I lose my independence and ability to take care of myself. As someone on a fixed income, these unexpected expenses are overwhelming, and I am not sure how I will manage them on my own. I am not one to ask for financial help. However, I have been blessed in the past with the unsolicited generosity of others, and I am deeply grateful for the support I have already received—though it had to go toward mechanical repairs instead of the bodywork.
