 I’m Nabi, a freelance illustrator and (ex-???)character designer. My wife and I have been living in SoCal for the past decade or so, and though times were better for the first several years, the burst of the animation bubble left me without full-time work since late-2022. I’ve freelanced at a few major studios since (like CTN back when it was still alive :''''')), have a fairly consistent illustration career in picture books, and maintain my own print store.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 However, this year has been /extremely/ lean (thanks AI and shit economy), so much so that all the savings I have left will really only cover maybe the next two months of rent and bills here. It is also becoming insanely expensive to live in LA any longer.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Our goal is to move in late November to Virginia, where my wife’s family lives. There, we’ll have a circle of support, much (MUCH!!!) lower rent, and by the time we get there, the illustration projects I’m signing onto will slowly start paying. We can then also rely on my wife’s nonprofit job in the case that I (god forbid) have another lean patch with little work.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 BUT…! A cross-country move is no easy task and we do need whatever help we can get in order to get there.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 In order to be as transparent as I can, I’m including a breakdown of approximate costs:
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 <strong>Absolutely need:</strong>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<ul>
 <li>4k = 3 Ubox shipping containers + shipping, moving labor, etc.</li>
</ul>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<ul>
 <li>1k = the remainder of my car lease + early lease termination fee</li>
</ul>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<ul>
 <li>3k = last month’s rent in LA</li>
</ul>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 <strong>TOTAL: $8000</strong>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 <strong>Nice to have (will update goal if I reach 8k):</strong>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<ul>
 <li>2k = deposit on a used car</li>
</ul>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<ul>
 <li>$1000 = food, supplies, the last couple payments on our horrible health insurance plan :’’’)</li>
</ul>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<ul>
 <li>$1500 = first months’ rent in VA</li>
</ul>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 <strong>TOTAL: $3000 (8k + 3k = $11,000)</strong>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 I will keep everyone posted on progress and updates! Most importantly, thank you all for donating and/or sharing. Even a little bit will go a long way! :’’’)

Help Ex-Animation Artist Move Cross-Country!

My name is Thomas, and I’m an independent artist with a lifelong dream: to publish and print my own version of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. I’ve poured my heart into this project, and I already have a prototype of the first chapter printed and bound. I have all the tools and skills to create, print, and bind the books myself, but what I need now is the support to bring the full project to life.
<br>
<br>
 Instead of working on my book just an hour each night after my day job, your support would allow me to take a full week off work and dedicate myself completely to finishing the book. With this focused time, I could bring my vision to life much sooner and share it with everyone.
<br>
<br>
 I’m not the best with words, but I would be deeply grateful for any help you can offer. Your support will help me finish and share my book with the world. Thank you for believing in independent art and helping dreams come true.

Help Publish My Wonderland Book

Hello there, I am currently finding myself without a home after having to escape a major electrical fire that had set our interior ablaze. Flooding the house with smoke and rendering the house completely unlivable.
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Currently looking at damage to all belongings and trying to figure out how to proceed. Any funds that might be shared would go a long way towards covering costs for both finding a new living space and trying to help replace destroyed belongings.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Any help at all would mean more than I could ever put in words...

The Rutgers Immigrant Rights Clinic is bringing law students to the US-Mexico border in partnership with the non-profit organization Espacio Migrante, a binational community organization based in Tijuana, Mexico! The Clinic, including two attorneys, two fellows, and six law students, will spend a week in Tijuana, providing assistance to migrants at the border. <br /><br />Law students are fundraising for the trip, which is set to take place in May 2022. Initially, this trip was scheduled for March 2020 but was canceled due to the onset of the global COVID-19 pandemic. This Clinic-sponsored trip will provide students with practical and legal experience in supporting migrants, refugees and asylum seekers from across the world, including Latin America, the Caribbean and Africa. With many migrants being denied entry to the United States due to the US’s remain in Mexico policy or Title 42, this trip will provide students with hands-on experience disseminating critical information to vulnerable populations. Given the more than 82 million refugees and displaced people worldwide, this experience will equip law students with valuable skills and resources needed to address this growing crisis. <br /><br />With your support and generosity, we hope to raise enough funds to ensure that this in-depth service opportunity and experience is available each year to more students. Please consider donating to support this trip and many more to follow.

Rutgers Law US-Mexico Border Trip

HI I’M TRIXIE.<br /><br />I’m an out of work trans woman living on the West Coast, and I’m going through a divorce. My depression and anxiety, not to mention the hardships that Covid have brought to the American workforce, have made it near impossible for me to make money this year. And now my ex-wife has surprised me with unexpected legal bills in the final stages of our divorce. I’m facing a $5,000 bill for her legal expenses and I’m terrified of what’ll happen if I’m unable to pay it.<br /><br />Asking for help is hard for me. I wouldn’t do it if I had any other options. But I must rely on the kindness of the internet to help lift me out of this.<br /><br />Looking over the legal paperwork and creating this GoFundMe and all other things that relate to my divorce give me extreme anxiety and put me right back into the mental headspace of the marriage that I am trying to escape. This is very challenging for me. Please, any help you can give me would make it just that much easier for me to face.<br /><br />My sincerest thanks to all who are kind enough to share or donate.
