<div>We are sponsoring both a high school essay contest and a high school video contest to challenge local students to learn their history.

<div>Bryan and his 83-year-old father spent the last decade building an incredible LEGO Star Wars collection together. Their shared passion resulted in about 780 sets and more than 1,200 minifigures, with the hope that one day, selling the collection could help pay for their grandchildren’s college. Last year, Bryan consigned the entire collection to a Mystery company so it could be sold over time. The collection was so impressive that it drew news coverage and huge crowds at the store.

<div>But in November 2024, everything changed. This Mystery company's corporate took over the store during a dispute with the franchise owner. When they seized the store, they also took control of Bryan and his father’s collection — even though it did not belong to them. According to Bryan, the company removed the identifying tags from the sets and continued selling the collection instead of returning it, claiming he could not prove ownership. Bryan and his father have tried going through authorities and legal channels, but the cost of forcing action in court could be tens of thousands of dollars, making it extremely difficult for them to fight back.

<div>We are heartbroken to share the loss of our beloved, Amber Czech. She was taken from us far too soon at just 20 years young as a result of workplace violence. Amber was a hardworking welder who took great pride in her craft and dreamed of building a bright future through her work. Her witty personality, positive attitude, and beautiful smile touched everyone who knew her.

<div>Blatch’s Backyard BBQ, our beloved Salt Lake City staple of innovative vegan barbecue, suffered a devastating fire on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, following an unexpected medical emergency involving the chef-owner, Chris Blatchford.

</div>

<div>While lighting a fire to begin his day, Chris experienced a Type I diabetic low blood sugar episode. In a scary moment, he passed out, awakening amid flames in the adjacent garage. Miraculously, he was able to crawl to safety. Though he sustained second-degree burns to his head, chest, and arms, Chris was treated and has since been released from the hospital.

<div>The fire spread rapidly, fueled by six propane tanks that exploded, destroying over 80% of the restaurant’s equipment and leveling the garage space. As firefighters bravely battled the blaze—saving nearby homes and vehicles—their efforts contained the fire within 20 minutes, but the physical and emotional damage was done.
