When my sister's senior rescue Husky, Koda, required emergency, life-saving surgery, there was no decision to make—he is family, and she had to save him.

While the surgery was successful, the expenses have left my sister, Kristie, in overwhelming financial distress.

Over the last year, she has poured every last penny of her savings into Koda's care as last spring he had a mass removed, only to have the unexpected emergency surgery, then being followed by a diagnosis of Cushing's Disease, that requires ongoing treatment.

As a single mother and the sole provider for her household (including two children, a grandchild, and six fur babies), this medical debt is simply too much to carry alone. She's struggling to make ends meet and the stress is constant.

My sister, Kristie, has faced each crisis with unwavering love, but the relentless financial storm has left her struggling to keep the lights on. The weight of this debt is a constant cloud of stress over her dedicated family.

We are now asking for a miracle from you: please help us lift this crushing burden. Your kindness can help cover Koda's life-saving costs and ease the mind of a mother who always puts her loved ones first. Every bit helps us to meet our goal. Please consider donating.

Urgent! Financial Help Needed for Koda’s Medical Care

We've done it! Between this page and the amazingly good people around me who have been handing me cash all week we have raised $3000. I'm currently waiting to hear from CF Martin to find out if we can possibly get a discount before I go any further. More details to come, but we made it. Thank you everybody who donated. If you came across this page and would like to donate to help with Jeff's medical bills please visit www.gofundme.com/BucksForBauman

Thank You Everyone! I will try to keep everybody updated as best as possible.

We're trying to raise money to pay for a brand new Martin Acoustic Electric for Jeff Bauman. Jeff was struck tragically by one of the bombs at the Boston Marathon on Monday 4/15/13 and has a long road ahead of him on his way to recovery. As a music lover and an avid guitar player some of his close friends and I believe that having a brand new Martin hanging around will do wonders for his recovery both mentally and physically. Anything you can do to help would be appreciated. Thank You in advance.

Please note that if you're looking to donate to help with Jeff's medical bills please visit www.gofundme.com/BucksForBauman . I will also be donating anything left over after we purchase the guitar over to BucksForBauman as well.

My name is Dave Turner and I've been a co-worker and friend of Jeffs for about 4 years now. I'm from Pepperell, MA and have spent many a summer night working out Beatles and Bob Dylan tunes with Jeff in my backyard. When I saw the pictures of Jeff on the internet (before I heard anything from anybody) I was first in shock however a warm feeling came over me when I realized that regardless of his injuries it appeared as though he ought to be able to still play guitar, and knowing that, I know he'll be alright.
