For nearly three decades, I have battled an undiagnosed disease that has left me with chronic neuromuscular respiratory failure. Since I was 30 years old, breathing has been a daily struggle, and I have faced frequent illness without answers. In 2019, a bronchoscopy left me paralyzed from the neck down for two weeks, and despite visiting countless doctors and professional clinics, I still do not have a diagnosis. My allergies to Succinylcholine and Propofol make it nearly impossible to find doctors willing to perform surgeries, leaving me with limited treatment options. This illness has taken a heavy toll on every part of my life. I lost the job I loved and worked at for over 25 years, a position I had hoped to keep until retirement. The strain of my health issues also led to the end of my 31-year marriage, and now I am facing these challenges on my own. The financial burden of medical bills, daily living expenses, and the costs of trying to buy a house with my son have become overwhelming. Even getting to appointments is difficult, as I often need to pay for rides just to leave the house. I am raising funds to help cover these expenses and to find some peace of mind.
