My mother recently passed away in December, and my siblings and I inherited a farmhouse, 30 acres of land, and an old sawmill. My brother is currently in prison, my sister struggles with paranoid schizophrenia, and I am a 46-year-old woman facing this challenge on my own. I have not been able to work for years due to a severely bad back, and I am currently on social security. Once everything is settled out of probate, I will likely lose my benefits, so I am looking for a way to support myself and give back to my community. My dream is to turn the old sawmill and land into a horse boarding stable. I want to create a place where people can board their horses, go on trail rides, and enjoy the beauty of this historic property. To make this dream a reality, I need help repairing the old buildings to create safe and comfortable stalls, buying equipment, and paying helpers to get things started. This project would not only help me become self-sufficient, but also provide a valuable service to others in the area. This land has been in my stepfather's family for over a hundred years. He was well known in the community, and the Hunt name means a lot to many people here. I want to honor his legacy by keeping the property alive and turning it into something that continues to serve others, even if it's for a new purpose. Having support from my community would mean the world to me. Your help would allow me to build a new future while keeping the Hunt name and spirit alive for generations to come.
