Michael, my brother, is currently facing a challenging time as he experiences a flare-up of FSGS, an autoimmune disorder that affects his kidneys. This condition has made it difficult for him to manage daily life and has placed a significant strain on his health and well-being. As he navigates this difficult period, Michael is focusing on his recovery and following a strict medication regimen, which has made it hard for him to keep up with work and everyday expenses.

I have spent hundreds of dollars on gas driving around LA to move things to our storage, visit my Mom in the hospital and seek help on various leads which have currently not led to stable housing.

<div>The other day, I was in Walmart asking people if they wanted to take $100 for themselves or give $500 to strangers. I met a woman named Andrea who is a mom of 3, and she decided she'd rather give the money away than keep it for herself. We walked around the store together, blessing people. She was full of kindness, encouraged everyone she met and left so many people smiling.

<div>Afterward, I rewarded her for her kindness, and she was so grateful. Andrea shared with me she runs a small side business to help provide for her family. But just days before, her car was broken into right after a pop-up event. All of her inventory was stolen, which was a huge hit to her and her husband's income.  Still, even though she was struggling and could use the money herself, she chose to give it away.

<div>His 20th birthday was October 27th and one of the worst birthdays for us because he was in ICU and not doing well. He had several brain bleeds and swelling of the brain. He had to have a tube to drain to relieve the pressure, and after 2 days of severe pressure, we had to opt for a craniotomy, which was the last resort to help try to save his life.

<div><strong>He needs and is going to need a lot of care, and all of his family live out of state from where he is located, and they also need to be able to have housing to be there to support and help him in this journey.</strong> We do not know what lies ahead yet, but we need all the prayers, support, resources, and donations to help him and his family keep giving him a fighting chance to survive.

His mom (she has not been able to work since this injuries occurred) will have access to the funds directly to take care of all the things that is needed during this time.

Help Medrick Burnett Jr. Heal After Severe Football Injury

<div>Whole towns have been washed away, flooding and mudslides, many are without water and power and will be for the foreseeable future.

<div>We are among the lucky ones, and remain entirely grateful. Because we are on higher ground, we were spared flooding. No trees fell upon our house. We all remain safe and well. Power was restored after 5 days, and with it, our well water.

<div>What was greatly damaged is the private road out of our home. It was washed away by a creek, stranding us for 2 days without water and power. The road has been temporarily secured, but must be rebuilt, along with the culver which was damaged, flooding our driveway. This will be thousands of dollars to repair.

<div>Any support you can offer towards this end would be so gratefully appreciated. Rebuild Our Road to Safety and Preparedness

<div>The other day in Walmart, I asked a lady named Maria to help me wrap a present. Maria helped me immediately but as she was wrapping the present she was overcome with emotion. She told me she was having a tough day because she recently lost her house and pets in a house fire. When I gave her the $1,000 dollars for passing the Kindness Test, she told me every Christmas her family dresses up as Santa and Mrs. Claus and gives gifts to those who don't have any. Her family lost all of the Christmas gifts they were giving away to families in need.

<div>Maria is currently living in a motel with her surviving pets and family and do not have a long-term place to live at this time. A lot is up in the air for them on what to do next. <div>Hey guys, our beloved Jenn needs out help. I’m here to raise funds for my dear friend. I’ve known Jenn since 2018. In that time, I have known Jenn to be very conscious of her health. A lot of us have witnessed how much she values personal health and wellness. She has been dealing with health issues which is due to her living with toxic mold in her house. Gaining 30 lbs, at times forgetfulness being an issue, dizziness and headaches.

<div>Jenn has been living in this black mold for 3 years. She had started feeling sick 1 1/2 years ago. She didn’t have the resources at the time to verify the severity of it. She had an appliance in her bathroom sink replaced recently last week and the people that came out did not remediate like she had asked them to do numerous times. It had been scraped and now it’s even more exposed than before. The mold has been airborne and in the HVAC and ducts for sure since that time. Now that the wall is open from where sink was replaced, it is totally exposed and effecting her, her awesome pets Tallulah and Julius who we all have come to know and love, and even other people living with her.

<div>A new inspector has come out and taken new air samples and he even felt dizzy in Jenn’s place. She feels defeated from the conversations we’ve had and it breaks my heart to witness it.

This GoFundMe was the only hope Jenn had since she is going to have to get rid of all her furniture where the mold has already seeped into. <div>At this point, the well-being of Jenn and everyone in the house is paramount. The toll on their physical and mental health is immense. It was sudden and unexpected. He was a father to eight and a grandfather to eight.<br /><br />In recent years, his health deteriorated -- he started receiving dialysis treatment after his high blood pressure medication lead to kidney failure. If it weren't for his brother, sister-in-law, and nephew, Nick would have been completely homeless. He left this world, free from his pain, free from his debts, and at peace now with God.<br /><br />I am reaching out to all of my friends and family to help contribute to his funeral arrangements. He left without life insurance or savings.  The money will go toward his final resting place and funeral services. I am asking everyone to give what they can in the next 5 days so we can fully fund his final arrangements -- which will be handled by a number of close relatives including myself.

Child abuse is a horrific experience that no one should have to go through and working through the physical, emotional, and mental remnants of that abuse is incredibly important for any child abuse survivor.  Gabriella has said that she felt that the system failed her as a child because no one noticed the abuse and no one advocated for her.<br /><br />Due to mental health stigma and lack of education, many people are unaware of the long terms effects of childhood abuse.

<p><strong>”For those who mistakenly believe that the damaging effects of child abuse are outgrown by adulthood, this information may come as a painful surprise. The fact is that the effects of child abuse last into adulthood and throughout ones life. It’s effects are often deleterious, meaning that the impact is often delayed and slow to develop but acute when they do occur. The consequence is that many adults who were abused during childhood experience it’s worst effects long after they have entered adulthood” - Dr Allan Schwartz. </strong>

<p>Here are just some consequences of havingbeen abused in childhood: <br /><br />Adults with a history of child abuse and neglect are more likely than the general population to experience physical health problems including diabetes, gastrointestinal problems, arthritis, headaches, gynaecological problems, stroke, hepatitis and heart disease (Felitti et al., 1998; Sachs-Ericsson)<br /><br />Research suggests that adults, particularly women, who were victimised as children are at risk of re-victimisation in later life (Cannon, Bonomi)<br /><br />Consistent evidence shows associations between child abuse and neglect and risks of attempted suicide in young people and adults (Felitti et al) <br /><br />Strong associations have been made between histories of child abuse and neglect and experiences of homelessness in adulthood. A study by Herman, Susser, Struening, and Link (1997) found that the combination of lack of care and either physical or sexual abuse during childhood was strongly associated with an elevated risk of adult homelessness. <br /><br />Persisting mental health problems are a common consequence of child abuse and neglect in adults. Mental health problems associated with past histories of child abuse and neglect include personality disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, dissociative disorders, depression, anxiety disorders and psychosis (Afifi, Boman) <br /><br />Unfortunately, the system is still not doing right by Gabriella. Three years ago, she requested therapy services from the NHS. In these past three years, she hasn't been able to get off the waiting list, the NHS have lost her details multiple times, but she has heard from white folks who have gotten off the waiting list in less than nine months.  Prejudice and systemic racism in the NHS, as well as underfunding for mental health services has impeded Gabriella's healing and caused her even more pain.<br /><br />That is simply unacceptable. The PTSD and CPTSD that Gabriella has from her years of being abused as a child, and that abuse being ignored by adults that were meant to help her, is detrimental to her overall health. Unfortunately, she has experienced suicidal episodes and series of depression due to the child abuse she experienced and the gatekeeping of mental and spiritual help that she desperately needs. To complicate matters more, Gabriella has been signed off work until she can get the therapy that she needs. Without an active income, therapy has taken a back seat and her healing has been off and on based on available funds. As anyone who has done intensive therapy knows, starting and stopping the healing process can stagnate the experience and leave survivors feeling hopeless. <br /><br />Together, we can help Gabriella heal and experience the love and support that she has been missing.  Because the NHS hasn't given Gabriella the attention and care she deserves, she is seeking private therapy, as well as some holistic healing services. Body work and somatic healing is crucial for trauma recovery. Private therapy sessions cost approximately 90 pounds. Going once a week for a year, brings the cost of therapy up to 4,680 pounds. Holistic therapy also costs approximately 90 pounds. Going once a month for a year costs 1,170 pounds. Traditional and holistic therapy for an entire year would approximately 5,850 pounds. In order to make sure that Gabriella's costs are completely covered, I would like to raise 6,000 pounds so that Gabriella can go to therapy for a year. (This goal has been updated due to Gabriella’s mental health deteriorating significantly during both lockdowns in the U.K.)<br /><br />Gabriella is someone who shares herself, her story, her life, and her passions so openly. Considering the abuse she has faced, her vulnerability is an incredible strength. Gabriella is an essential asset to the spiritual, artistic, and anti-racist community- online and in real life. Hi my name is Ronni Padilla and I’ve been with TJ’s for 14 years. I love my company and anytime one of us is in need our trader joe family has always been their for support no matter what the situation is. Now I’m reaching out to anyone that wants to help two of my co workers that have lost their homes to the Almeda Fire in southern Oregon. These wildfires has taken everyone by surprise not because we don’t get them every year but how fast everything has happened. About 600 homes were lost and around 100 businesses from this fire alone. Katie is an amazing mate  that bought their home a little over year ago. Paul is a hard working soft spoken man with a family. They both need our help to give them the support that they need. I can’t imagine losing my home, taking my kids and animals to a place to stay for who knows how long. For southern Oregon we are not out of the woods yet. Our county still has the Obenchain fire that is growing by the hour but that doesn’t mean we can’t focus on the families in need now. All proceeds will be split by the two to help them get back on their feet and lift up their spirits. Please send good vibes, prayers, energy that we don’t have to add anyone else to this fund.
