I am starting a campaign for my husband. He is a disabled vet who has been through so much, more than any person I know!  He served in the U.S Coast Guard. He has applied for disability, as the ship he was cleaning while in dry dock contained asbestos. Both his lungs failed, they removed and transplanted one, leaving the other non working one in. Shortly after the transplant they rushed him in for another procedure and ruptured his bowels, they had to remove several feet of intestines. His transplant was approx. 14 years ago. Four years ago they had to go back in and remove the old lung due to swelling that was causing his heart to shift. He was in Severe pain upon arriving home. He travels every six months to Wisconsin where the transplant took place. He was out of commission after this surgery 4 years ago. He had to sell a lot of his belongings to meet bills, a motorcycle, a truck and a camper as well as other stuff. He lives daily with back pain due to all the surgeries, he takes a hand full of pills daily to fight infection and anti rejection drugs. On top of all this, three years ago he developed severe pain, went to his va doctor, where he was prescribed pill for an enlarged prostate. He was never examined, the pain continued for several months. He went to an urologist, where he was told if he would have been examined when he first went in, he might not be in the shape he is in now. He has had to use catheters 6-8 times daily for the last year. This past Monday, Feb. 22 he was struck by a semi truck while driving a truck and trailer. Both were totaled, as well as the semi truck. He was lucky to come out alive. So with the pain he deals with daily, he is in even more pain. Gary, when he was able was a very good motorcycle mechanic and that is how he earned a living. When his pain became so severe he couldn't work any more, he started delivering rvs and hauling and picking up cars for a car dealership. I don't ever want to get a call like I got Monday, saying he had been in an accident!  His disability was denied. We are in the process of filing an appeal. Until then, with his most recent accident, we will have bills and other cost of living things that will continue. I want to eliminate some of his financial worries until we hear something on his appeal. I do work a full time job  at a daycare but that doesn't cover everything. He suffers so much pain, as a wife, I just want to help eliminate some of his financial worries! Anything you give would mean a Lot! Help me help someone who, when he was able, helped so many others! Thank you!!!!!

Lacee is 3 months old and suffering from a heart condition that is going to require her to have open heart surgery. She is currently in the hospital in Lubbock Tx waiting to get well enough to be able to sustain this surgery. Her parents will be needing all of the help they can get to cover medical bills and travel expenses that they will incur once Lacee is transferred to Dallas to begin surgery. Any and all help that can be provided to them in this difficult time I'm sure would help to ease some of the stress and would be greatly appreciated.
