<div>On Monday, October 26, 2026, our sweet Clementine crossed over and joined her bunny brother. After several days in the hospital, we were faced with an impossible decision. Ultimately, our girl let us know when it was time, and we are forever grateful for the precious time we got to spend together back at home.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are starting this fundraiser to help offset the unexpected emergency veterinary expenses from Clementine's final days, which totaled approximately $13,000.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>What happened</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>After a bout of vomiting, barely eating, and acting unusually lethargic, we knew something wasn't right. On Sunday, October 18, which also happened to be Clementine's 11-year adoptaversary, we brought her to her regular vet at Modern Animal.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Her initial x-rays and bloodwork raised concerns about her kidneys, liver, and pancreas. The vets gave her fluids and medications, and we brought her home hopeful that she would recover. For a brief moment, she seemed to be improving. But by Tuesday, her symptoms had worsened, and we rushed her to ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital where she was immediately admitted for emergency hospitalization and further testing.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Over the next two and a half days, the veterinary team worked tirelessly to understand and treat what was happening. While testing thankfully did not reveal cancer, Clementine was suffering from pancreatitis and serious complications involving her liver and gallbladder. Despite antibiotics, medications, and around-the-clock care, her bilirubin levels continued to rise, and her condition remained critical.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our remaining option involved an extremely invasive surgery with significant risks and no guarantee of recovery, especially at her age. So, with a guarded prognosis, we made the decision to bring Clementine home and focus on her comfort and quality of life.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Clementine's story </strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our sweet girl's story began halfway around the world in Thailand, where she was rescued from the dog meat trade by the incredible team at Soi Dog Foundation. On October 18, 2015, Clementine and Josh became a family, beginning what would become 11 beautiful years of love, adventure, and companionship. From countless road trips and visits to some of the country's most beautiful landmarks to all the everyday moments at home, Clementine lived a very full life.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>When Josh and I swiped right back in 2021, I had no idea I was also swiping right on the best surprise ever. I feel so incredibly lucky and honored to have had the privilege of being Clem’s mommy and for us to have become our own little family of four. Clementine brought us so much joy and happiness, even on the darkest of days. She was our constant, our little explorer, and such a big part of what made our family feel like home.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>While we wish more than anything that we could have had more time, we are forever grateful that she got to live such a long, beautiful life.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>How you can help ❤️</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Clementine's emergency care and final vet visits accumulated to a little over $13k in unexpected expenses. When faced with this emergency, we did everything in our power to give her every fighting chance—just as any pet parent would.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Now, as we navigate the grief of losing her, we are humbly asking for help offsetting some of these overwhelming financial costs.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Whether you are able to donate, leave a kind memory, or simply share this page, we are deeply grateful for your support as we do our best to move forward during this difficult time. Thank you for helping us honor our Clemmy girl.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>All our love and gratitude,
</div>
<div>Robin &amp; Josh

Remembering Clementine

<div>Editing to add that I am a friend of Anna’s and I set this up because that’s what we do, as mothers. We take care of each other and we fight like mothers. All donations will go directly to Anna. You are going to have to fight, Anna. You have so many mothers fighting for you.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Last night, these 2 beautiful, perfect children lost their lives in the most unimaginable way. No mother should ever have to experience this kind of pain. Especially Anna, who devoted her life to her family and to the community. To know her is to love her. Nothing I write here will bring her babies back and give her any sense of justice or peace. If we, her family and friends, can ease the financial burden of having to bury her children and her husband, it would be a relief

<div>Celebrate John Richardson’s 86th Birthday: Help Preserve Pleasant Vale Church
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For my dad John Richardson’s 86th birthday, I’m inviting family and friends to celebrate him with a gift that will last: helping preserve Pleasant Vale Baptist Church in Fauquier County, Virginia.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Built in 1845, Pleasant Vale holds generations of local history. Preserving its building and grounds will help ensure those stories—and this special place—remain part of the community for years to come.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In honor of Dad’s birthday, we’re raising funds to support that work through Friends of Pleasant Vale Church. Your contribution will help restore, stabilize, and care for the historic church and its grounds.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you’d like to help celebrate Dad’s 86 years, please consider a donation of any size. I’d also love for you to leave a birthday wish or a favorite memory of him with your gift.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for helping make this birthday meaningful—and for being part of Dad’s life.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With love and gratitude,

Celebrate John and Help Preserve Pleasant Vale Church

<div>My mom, Carol Wood, passed away on September 4, 2026, after more than ten days in the hospital hooked up to machines that kept her alive but couldn't give her peace.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>When she was finally moved to <strong>Bruns House in Alamo, CA</strong>, everything changed. For the first time in weeks, she was unplugged and free from tubes and monitors. The nurses and staff gently bathed her, applied lotion, and positioned her just so, giving her a kind of comfort our whole family had been aching for her to have. It was the peace she deserved, and Bruns House gave it to her in her final days.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Bruns House is part of Hospice East Bay, and it exists to give people like my mom compassionate, dignified end-of-life care.</strong> Every gift, no matter the size, helps them keep doing that for other families facing what we just faced.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you're able to give, it would mean the world to us — and to the families who will walk through Bruns House's doors after us.
</div>
<div><br />

Support dignified end-of-life care in memory of Carol Wood

<div>Hallo!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Ich werde die gesamte Reise transparent teilen. Die schönen Momente genauso wie die Schwierigen. Denn genau das ist Tierschutz.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>• Tierarztbehandlungen von verletzten oder kranken Tieren
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>• Notfallversorgung der Tiere
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>• Unterbringungskosten der Tiere
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>• Futter
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>• Medikamente
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>• Rettungs- und Transportmaterial
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>• Fahrten zwischen den einzelnen Stationen
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>• Finanzielle Unterstützung der Organisationen vor Ort
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Ich danke euch so sehr für eure Unterstützung!

Für die Tiere durch Europa

<div>Captain Smit Machchhar went to work expecting an ordinary flight. Instead, he reportedly found himself fighting for his life and the lives of 174 passengers aboard a Flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>According to reports, Captain Machchhar, an Indian-origin pilot, was attacked and stabbed in the neck by his Omani co-pilot during an alleged mid-air attempt to crash the aircraft.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><a href="https://x.com/EinavAvizemer/status/2105342482275766709/video/1?s=46" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Israeli’s thanking the pilot</a>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Already wounded, Captain Machchhar fought like a lion.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He reportedly fended off the co-pilot despite his injuries and managed to open the cockpit door and shouted for others to come and help, alerting passengers that something was terribly wrong.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Those cries for help brought passengers rushing forward. Together, they reportedly helped Captain Machchhar overpower and subdue the co-pilot, restraining and tying him up before he could cause further harm.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Captain Machchhar’s decision to keep fighting, open the door even after being stabbed, surely helper prevent an unimaginable catastrophe.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Video shows passengers treating the wounded Indian captain after the attacker was restrained. Still believing he needed to fly the plane, the captain resisted pain medication that would sedate him and said “no sleep, no sleep” Israelis reassured him that someone else had taken control and told him to rest: “it’s good for you! You need to rest! You saved everyone.”
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Captain Machchhar joined Flydubai in 2022 after nearly a decade flying for SpiceJet. On this flight, however, he was called upon to do far more than fly an airplane.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He fought for his passengers. He called for help. And when help came, they fought together. If not for him the news would be about 174 dead passengers or even more if the plane had crashed into a high-rise etc.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Now we want to stand behind the man who stood up for them.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>JBN is launching this fundraiser to show Captain Machchhar and his family how deeply his courage is appreciated and to support him following this traumatic ordeal and during his recovery.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our goal is for the Jewish and Israeli community, along with people around the world, to come together and send him a simple message:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>You risked your life to protect ours. We will not forget you.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Funds raised are intended to benefit Captain Machchhar and assist him and his family as he recovers. We will provide updates regarding the transfer and use of funds as arrangements are finalized. The plan is that once the funds are raised, to do a follow up story of our editor presenting him or his family the check. JBN in internationally known and has publishing news since 2007 with over 2.5 million followers. <a href="https://link.me/jbn" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">JBN website and links</a>

</div>
<div>Please donate whatever you can and share this fundraiser.
</div>

</div>
<div>Captain Smit Machchhar fought like a lion when more than 150 lives were at stake. Now it is our turn to stand behind him.

OFFICIAL: Help Indian Pilot Smit Dubai-Israel Hero

<div>On the evening of September 20, as members of Belleville’s Jewish community gathered at Sons of Jacob Synagogue for Yom Kippur services, a Belleville police officer encountered an armed man outside the synagogue.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Const. Jeff Smith was struck by gunfire and critically injured. He remains in hospital in critical but stable condition.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Inside the synagogue, worshippers heard the gunfire, took cover and sheltered together as bullets struck the building. Const. Smith confronted an extraordinarily dangerous situation while protecting a Jewish congregation assembled on the holiest day of the Jewish year.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In Judaism, *pikuach nefesh*, the preservation of human life, is among our highest obligations. Const. Smith fulfilled that obligation not through words, but through courage and action. When members of a vulnerable community needed protection, he put himself in harm’s way.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are organizing this fundraiser as members of Canada’s Jewish community to express our profound gratitude to Const. Smith and to support him and his family during what may be a long and difficult recovery.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This fundraiser is also intended to send a clear message to Const. Smith and his fellow officers: the Jewish community remembers those who protect us. We will not forget what he did outside Sons of Jacob Synagogue.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please give what you can and share this campaign. May Const. Smith experience a complete and speedy recovery.
</div>

</div>
<div>*We are currently in touch with the Belleville Police Service to determine the best way to disburse the money. The Sergeant on duty as of 1:45 PM, September 21st, 2026 offered to pass on this information to the leadership of the Sons of Jacob Synagogue so we can determine the best way to disburse the funds. Updates will follow accordingly.*
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>**Update 1: On Tuesday, September 22nd at 12:17 PM, I was called by a senior member of the Belleville Police Service. This officer is now acting as the liaison between myself and Constable Smith's family. Out of respect for the family's privacy, I told the officer that I did not want to pry about potential timelines for his recovery, but we agreed that we would begin the process to determine how to disburse the funds directly to his family. Due to the officer's recovery, there is no firm timeline on when the funds will be disbursed, and the fundraiser will stay open indefinitely. I will speak to my contact at BPS at the end of the week to determine next steps. No funds have been withdrawn or disbursed, nor will they be until firm plans have been made to disburse them to Constable Smith and/or his family. Thank you all for your generosity and support.**
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>**Update 2: Changing title to Canadian Jewish Community, to reflect the support and donations coming from across Canada**
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>**Update 3: On Tuesday, September 22nd at 9:36 PM, I spoke to my contact at BPS. I will be going to Belleville in person later this week to finalize arrangements with BPS and the beneficiary that has been designated by the family. I will provide another update once this has been completed.**
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>**Update 4: Yesterday, I had brief contact with a family member of Constable Smith. At this time, no updates on his condition or any other circumstances, and out of respect for the family, I didn’t ask. Plans for meeting with my liaison at the BPS are still on track. The beneficiary process should be completed by Monday. Thanks to the GoFundMe team for contacting me and offering their full support. I am astounded at the donations that have poured in, and never imagined we would raise over $500,000. My hope is that we are able to reach $1,000,000 by the time Constable Smith has been discharged from hospital. Please keep spreading the word and encouraging others to give generously.**
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>**Update 5** Some donors have asked about the second officer that assisted Constable Smith before more backup arrived. We have now received confirmation that Constable McCurdy was the officer serving as Constable Jeff Smith’s backup during the attack at Sons of Jacob.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Constable McCurdy faced the same danger as Constable Smith while protecting the synagogue and those gathered inside, and assisting his fellow officer. Constable McCurdy's actions are equally heroic, selfless and commendable.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On behalf of this fundraiser and the thousands of Canadians who have supported it, I want to express our profound gratitude to Constable McCurdy for his bravery, service and commitment to protecting life.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are deeply relieved that he is safe, and grateful to learn that he was physically unharmed.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you, Constable McCurdy. **
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>**Update 6** The meeting with the Belleville Police Service has concluded. Arrangements for the beneficiary/designated family member have been confirmed and sent to GoFundMe. A GoFundMe representative will contact them to complete the onboarding**
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>**Update 7** I would like to address two matters that have been raised by some of our donors.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>1) Sons of Jacob has their own GoFundMe established. Please consider donating if you feel comfortable doing so. While I have no information beyond what has been made public, I have made a donation (my name will not be listed, as I have done so anonymously, in keeping with a well known Jewish teaching that anonymous donations are the highest form of charity).
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>2) As I have mentioned on this platform and in some individual conversations, I deeply regret that I did not have confirmed information about Constable McCurty's heroic actions. In the name of maintaining the highest levels of transparency and integrity for this campaign, the funds cannot be diverted from the mandate of this fundraiser, which is to raise money for Constable Smith and his family.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I have been the administrator of this campaign outside of my professional obligations, and nearly all of my free time this week has been devoted to its administration. At this point, I need to see this campaign through, and am unable to take on another fundraiser. I know that many members of the community would like to establish their own initiative to honour Constable McCurty. I believe this is a wonderful idea, but I would encourage anyone interested to reach out to the Belleville Police Service and ensure that whatever they propose is something that will be necessary and beneficial.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>3) The campaign will continue indefinitely until either Constable Smith's family or my BPS liaison requests otherwise.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With profound gratitude,
</div>
<div>DK**

<div>This year, the Station team is taking on Tough Mudder to raise money for Duchenne UK, a charity that means a great deal to us personally.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a rare, progressive muscle wasting condition. There is currently no cure, and families face an incredibly difficult journey from the moment of diagnosis. Duchenne UK is working tirelessly to fund groundbreaking research, accelerate access to treatments, improve care, and support families living with the condition. Their mission is simple but urgent, to end Duchenne.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For us, this isn't just another fundraising challenge. This cause is close to the hearts of our team, and we wanted to do something that would push us out of our comfort zone while helping make a real difference.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>So, we're swapping our desks for mud, ice, obstacles, and plenty of sore muscles as we take on Tough Mudder together. It will be challenging, uncomfortable, and probably a little chaotic, but that's nothing compared to the challenges faced every day by those living with Duchenne and the people who love them.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Every donation, no matter the size, will help Duchenne UK continue funding vital research and supporting families who urgently need hope for the future.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you're able to support us, we'd be incredibly grateful. Thank you for helping us turn one tough day into something that could change lives.
</div>

 As we mark the Jewish New Year, I'm raising money for Jewish Women's Aid, a charity close to my heart. They support Jewish women and children affected by domestic abuse, offering specialist help when it's needed most.

Support Jewish Women's Aid this Jewish New Year

<div>Dear friends and community,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This year in less than a few weeks is the 25th anniversary of 9/11. Like so many of my friends, I still vividly remember that tragic day. On that day, 1000s of men and women risked their lives to help save the 1000s of Americans who were trapped in the towers. Many of those souls were lost. While there are several great organizations who support our first responders and our Veterans, there are few that do it better with more pride and professionalism than The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation (T2T).
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>T2T’s mission extends to honoring our military and first responders who continue to serve selflessly, often putting their lives on the line for our safety. By contributing to this cause, you are helping to uphold their legacy and support those in need.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Your donations will make a tangible difference as T2T:
</div>
<ul>
<li>Provides mortgage-free homes to the families of fallen first responders.
</li>
<li>Assists injured military veterans with adaptive housing solutions.
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Nothing can ever replace the life of someone lost to bravery, but T2T does the work to help those heroes and their families recover.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>So, I can think of no better way to honor the men and women who lost their lives in 9/11 and to Never Forget that day than to start a fundraiser to support T2T and the great work they do.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please join me (if you are willing and able) to do the same - either with your own fundraiser, or contribute to mine, or contribute directly to T2T.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please visit <a href="https://www.t2t.org" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">www.t2t.org</a> to learn more about this great organization.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But please take a moment to do something this September to honor all who were lost and injured that day, and to help those who 25 years on fight for their memory and to help to heal the lives of our first responders and their families.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My goal is to raise $25,000 for T2T and I will match every dollar donated to my campaign up to that amount.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Let’s do this together. Thank you!

Support Tunnel to Towers on the 25th Anniversary of Sept 11

<div><strong>Rafi K's situation</strong> im trying to help him hire a caregiver-nurse service that can go to his house and help him take care of his mom, and I started this fundraiser to help with that.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For the past five years, Rafi has been the full-time caregiver for his mother, who is living with dementia, Rafi has been taking care of everything, like making sure she gets clean, has supplies diapers, food. clothes, cleaning supplies.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>she doesnt remember how to speak english anymore, just her home language she grew up speaking. His Wife cannot help since his mom doesnt know who she is and gets angry with her.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He recently had to spend more than $13,000 to bury his father. at the same time, his job has cut his hours to less than part-time. because he works from home and needs to stay with his mother 24/7. getting a different job is not an option.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Doing all of this on his own and he needs a professional to come over, to clean and everything he is having to do by himeself. The money raised will help him recover the money he has lost over the years and and to help him hire a caregiver to come over everyday, instead of twice a week just to give her a bath.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>he is stressed all day long and will not let anyone visit because his mom will freak out and scream at everyone. so he cant leave and no one can come over.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>he was taking care of his father by himself as well but he died 1-2 years ago. now he has sold 2 cars to get money in the past and bought himself a cheaper car since he cant get out much to do anything other then buying groceries.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>caregiving services all cost between 40-55$ an hour and even if he got someone at 40$ at 3 hours a day, 3 days a week. that is 1,000$ in 3 weeks. he needs someone 5 days a week and over 3 hours.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>obviously any amount would help him but i want him to be able to get a job with more hours, not stuck at home 24/7. had to update this description as the AI made it sound dramatic and fake. I will upload photos of him at some point if i can keep him from finding out about what i am doing. he would refuse this if he knew.

Support Rafi as He Cares for His Mom

<div>On July 15th, <strong>I'm undergoing a kidney transplant</strong>, a major and life-changing surgery. While I'm incredibly grateful for the chance to move forward with this, it also means temporarily stepping away from my business and income during recovery.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As a self-employed business owner, I don’t have sick leave or short-term disability. When I’m not working, I’m not earning. I’ll be taking most of July and part of August off to prepare, heal, and avoid complications. That means missing several weeks of income while still managing regular bills, family responsibilities, and new costs like medication, travel, meals, and childcare.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>So here I am, humbly asking: If you’re in a place to contribute, thank you. If you’re not in a place to give, sharing this would mean a lot.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Your support, big or small, will help cushion my family during this window and allow me to focus on getting back on my feet without pushing too hard, too soon.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Anything beyond our basic goal will help ease the ongoing burden through recovery.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I thank you sincerely.

<div>I started swimming when I was around 3 years old. I joined my first summer league team at 5. And began swimming year-round with club teams by the time I was 8.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My Dad never missed a swim meet my entire career.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Even as I got faster and we traveled farther. Even when I went to college out of state and competed every weekend from fall through spring. Even when I made Nationals - my parents packed up my little brothers and drove 20 hours to watch me swim two races that lasted a total of 1 minute 15 sections - combined - two years in a row.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This persisted even into adulthood, with him (thankfully) flying out to see my brothers and I swim in the Catalina sprint triathlon, and later when we also 'Escaped' from Alcatraz.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He was always there. Until one day, he couldn't be.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Nearly 15 years ago, my Dad lost his battle with Multiple Myeloma, a blood cancer that attacks the bone marrow. He passed away just nine months after his diagnosis.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He was my best friend.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For some reason, over the past year, I've found it nearly impossible to get myself back into the water. I'll go to the gym with my suit on...and walk. Or lift weights. Or stretch. I'll do almost anything else. But swimming - the sport that was such a huge part of our lives - has been the one thing I can't seem to do.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>So I'm trying something different.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This August, I'm committing to swimming 5 miles to raise money for the American Cancer Society in support of cancer research and in honor or my Dad.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I know he would be incredibly happy to see me do this. And with every lap, I'll be thinking about all the years I looked up into the stands and saw him and my Mom cheering me on.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I'd like to think he's still cheering today. Just from a bench that's a little higher up.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you'd like to support me - or honor someone you've loved and lost to cancer - I would be incredibly grateful. Every donation helps fund lifesaving research, and hope for millions more.
</div>

I'm Swimming 5 Miles in August to support Cancer Research

<div>I joined GoFundMe just over 5 months ago, and in all that time being encouraging other people to launch their own fundraisers but I've never actually launched one for myself. This is it. My first.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I'm taking part in Tour de 4 2026 - the cycling event launched by Sir Chris Hoy following his Stage 4 cancer diagnosis. It brings together people living with Stage 4 cancer, alongside friends, family and supporters, to ride side by side and raise vital funds.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The route is 90km, starting at the Glasgow Velodrome and heading out into the hills of Scotland before turning back the way I came. No small ask for a first fundraiser, but then Tour de 4 was never about picking the easy option.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The event is about showing that a diagnosis doesn't define a person. It's about what life with Stage 4 cancer can actually look like: strength, resilience and determination, played out over 90km of Scottish road.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Every pound helps someone riding for a reason far bigger than mine. If you can spare something, I'd be grateful for it.

<div>The world lost a beautiful, bold, and endlessly vibrant soul when Moriah passed away in a tragic car accident. While hearts are heavy, anyone who knew her knows she wouldn’t want sorrow to take center stage—she’d want her life to be celebrated with joy, laughter, and love.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Whether it was her contagious smile, fierce loyalty, or spontaneous traveling adventure, Moriah left an unforgettable mark on everyone she met. In that same spirit of light she shared with the world, this fund has been created to help give her the beautiful send-off she deserves and to support her beautiful family during this time.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>If you're able to give, every donation—big or small—makes a difference. And if you can't, sharing this page or simply sending a kind thought is just as meaningful.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Let’s honor Moriah the way she would’ve wanted—with love, laughter, and light.

Moriah’s Final Chapter – Help Us Celebrate Her Life

<div>When I think about dementia, I think about my family. There are my grandparents, who both had rare forms of the illness, and there is my mother, a psychiatrist specialising in dementia research.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>That means I've seen this illness from two sides: as a family member of those living with dementia, and as the daughter of someone whose life's work is dedicated to helping people with dementia and their carers.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Through my grandparents I’ve seen firsthand how it affects not only the person diagnosed, but everyone who loves them. Through my mum’s work, I know how urgent the need is to support carers and focus on prevention.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Some fundraising to help those affected is long overdue, and today I'm asking friends and family to donate and help accelerate progress toward a world without Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>By participating in this fundraiser, you are directly helping families receive the support they need today while also funding research.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for your support and commitment to ending Alzheimer’s.
</div>
<div><br />

<div>If you are looking to understand what you can do to prevent dementia apart from donating to and sharing my fundraiser, please read the <a href="https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(24)01296-0/fulltext?dgcid=linkedin_organic_infocusbrainhealth_lancetdementia24_lancet&amp;utm_campaign=lancetdementia24&amp;utm_content=320209447&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=linkedin&amp;hss_channel=lcp-1155238" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Lancet commission report</a> on dementia prevention, intervention, and care which is led by my Mum, Professor Gill Livingston.

<div><strong>THE FIGHT ISN’T OVER</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thousands of local people came together to oppose the over-development of Great North Leisure Park.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We signed petitions. We submitted objections. We spoke at meetings. We packed out consultation events. We showed that this place matters. Despite that, the Deputy Mayor has now approved the development.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<ul>
<li>Our only option to stop the development is now a Judicial review,
</li>
<li>We believe that we may have a good case, but this needs to be confirmed through a detailed review by legal advisors,
</li>
<li>We're very fortunate to have an excellent solicitor from the Southwark Law Centre.
</li>
<li>In addition, good barristers have offered ONF heavily discounted rates as a community organisation.
</li>
<li>WE NEED MORE DONATIONS to get us to target of £23,000 which will give us a fighting fund for the JR process.
</li>
<li>Our lawyers are currently reviewing the case and putting together a pre action letter.
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It's a complex case, but a crucial one: Not only for North Finchley but for all those affected by abuses of the planning system by the Government and developers.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If we stand together, and donate together, we can still win!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Whether it's £10, £50, or £100: every donation is a blow against the GLA and Arada.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please give what you can, so that governments and developers cannot ride roughshod over the real needs of our community.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Great North Leisure Park is more than a collection of buildings. For decades it has been a place where families celebrate birthdays, friends meet for a night out, disabled residents access leisure activities, young people gain independence, and local people come together.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Residents have repeatedly raised concerns about the loss of accessible leisure facilities, the impact on disabled people and young people, the destruction of valued community spaces, the threat to nearby nature, inadequate affordable housing provision, and the precedent this over-development could set for other suburban communities across London.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We believe communities deserve better.
</div>
<div>Every donation, no matter how large or small, will help us obtain specialist legal advice and prepare for the next stage of the campaign.
</div>
<div>If legal action proves possible, these funds will help support that challenge. If further work is required before a decision can be made, your contribution will help ensure the community has access to the expert advice needed to make informed decisions.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This campaign has always been powered by local people.
</div>
<div>Now we need your help again.
</div>
<div>If Great North Leisure Park has ever meant something to you, if you believe communities should have a genuine voice in shaping their future, and if you want to help us explore every possible option to protect this important place, please donate today.
</div>

<div><strong>Every contribution counts</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We'd like to assure you that 100% of funds will be spent on promoting the cause to save North Finchley, for transparency Bank Statements will be made available on demand. At some stage in the future the campaign will come to a victorious end (or not) and at that time any remaining funds will be donated to related charities such as homelessness, environment, conservation.

<div><strong>This is Andrew from Iowa’s story…</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>"On December 13, 2025, in Palmyra, Syria, United States troops were ambushed on a routine patrol. During this attack, two American Soldiers and a US Civilian interpreter were killed in action, and three American Soldiers were injured.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Two of the injured soldiers were flown to a base for medical attention. Another soldier was treated on base for his injuries. The soldier who was treated on base was Sargent Andrew Henschel. Sargent Henschel, a medic, was injured while treating the other soldiers who were injured. Due to his bravery while under attack, he earned the Combat Action Badge and a Purple Heart. Governor Kim Reynolds pinned Sargent Henschel with his Purple Heart on base in Syria.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Sargent Henschel serves out of Des Moines, Iowa, in the 1st Squadron, 113th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division. He was deployed to the Inherent Resolve Mission in Syria from July 2025 to February 2026. Andrew was a 2016 graduate of Lake Mills High School.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He is currently back at home living with his parents waiting on VA benefits. His dreams for the future include going back to school for Pilots License, moving to Wyoming, and starting a family.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Why I've chosen to nominate Andrew:</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am hosting a 1,000 acts of kindnes challenge at Lake Mills Community Schools in Iowa &amp; when Sam contacted me about helping him with his 50 veterans, 50 states, 50 days campaign - I knew this was the perfect opportunity to rally an entire community around changing someone's life. With over 700 students who will be a part of this day, we have a chance to do something extremely special for this veteran. Sargent Andrew Henschel went to this exact school, given his recent heroic actions saving 2 soldiers lives, he felt like the perfect candidate!"

<div><strong>This is Mitchell from Nevada's story…</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><em>"</em>My dad, Mitchell Gordon, is a proud U.S. Navy Veteran who served his country honorably from 1976 to 1996.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He spent his life doing things the right way—working hard, protecting others, and taking care of his family. But right now, he is a man whose entire world has been shattered twice.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On New Year's Eve, December 31, 2023, my dad's life changed forever when he lost his loving wife, Rochelle, after 47 beautiful years of marriage. He was absolutely devastated. The only silver lining in that dark time was the life insurance payout Rochelle left behind. It was her final act of love—giving him some financial peace of mind in his later years.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Then, while Mitchell was still navigating profound grief, international cybercriminals stole his entire life savings—wiping out that final safety net Rochelle had left to make sure he was safe.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>People may ask how a good, capable person loses their life savings. I want to be very clear: for over 60 years, my dad was very responsible with his money. He is not careless. He did not make a risky investment or fall for a new romance scam. He was the victim of a highly sophisticated, AI-driven cyberattack aimed at senior citizens.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It started with a hyper-realistic AI deepfake video of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in a Facebook ad promoting a government refund website. Sports stars endorse things all the time, so why should this be so unlikely? Unfortunately, it led to a fake, professionally created website designed to capture his personal information, and ultimately resulted in overseas scammers taking complete remote control of his computer. Through psychological terror, threats of immediate account closures and federal investigations, they took total control of his digital world. In a state of absolute panic, believing he was complying with actual FTC agents, his life savings were drained. This was elder fraud executed with military precision.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>His technological and financial life has since been completely secured to ensure he is protected from scammers. A very hard lesson has been learned, but the financial ruin remains.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our hope now is to restore his stolen savings, his long-term financial security, and ensure this sailor does not have to spend his final years lying awake worrying about how to pay his bills.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you have it in your heart to help a Veteran rebuild after losing so much, we would be eternally grateful.<em>"</em>

<div>Over the past year, conflict in the Middle East has devastated lives across the region, and millions have fled their homes in search of safety. Right now, millions of people across Gaza, Lebanon and the wider region are in urgent need of food, shelter and medical care.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In Gaza, people are dying of hunger and disease, as well as injuries caused by the conflict. Food and clean water are desperately scarce. Ninety percent of the population are displaced, and more than 42,000 people have been killed. In Lebanon, more than a million people have had to leave their homes in recent weeks. Shelters are overwhelmed, and hospitals are struggling to treat the thousands of people injured. In the West Bank, vital water, sanitation and hygiene infrastructure has been damaged by ongoing violence and families have been displaced from their homes. In Israel, families of those held hostage desperately await news of their loved ones, tens of thousands of people are displaced along the borders with Gaza and Lebanon and many more are dealing with trauma caused by the conflict.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>DEC member charities are responding right now in Gaza, Lebanon and the West Bank. They are providing lifesaving food, water, shelter, medicine and so much more, where the needs are greatest. DEC will continue to monitor the situation and needs in Israel and as the crisis evolves across the region
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But they urgently need more funds to meet the huge levels of need in Gaza and Lebanon right now. Save lives. Donate now.

</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Florrie Bark was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer when she was just five, and had to have two years of aggressive treatment.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She still needs constant medical care, and is on the waiting list for a lung transplant, but no matter what she's going through, Florrie keeps smiling and spreading joy everywhere she goes with her motto, "Be More Fab".
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>She's even set up her own charity to help other children with cancer, also called Be More Fab.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And this is where we need you to help us give her an amazing surprise. <strong>We've set up a secret GoFundMe page to raise money for BeMoreFab</strong>, to get Florrie's charity off to a flying start.

Pride of Britain fundraiser for superstar Florrie

<div>We are a mixed bunch, all ages, beliefs, and backgrounds. We all have one thing in common, well maybe two now…We have all decided to jump from a plane at the North London Skydive centre in Peterborough, why you might ask.. Leicester City in the Community, Babington Academy and friends have joined forces to raise awareness and vital funds for Leicester/shire Young Carers.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Did you know:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Centre court in Wimbledon sits 14,979 people. If all the Young Carers across Britain were given a ticket that cared for someone over 50 hours a week, there would only be 131 spare seats left. 3,000 of those tickets have gone to children aged 5-9 years of age.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Take a moment to visualise that!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Stats say.
</div>
<div>•	That in every class- room in every school there are 6 young carers not identified.
</div>
<div>•	1 in 3 young Carers struggle to balance caring with their education.
</div>
<div>•	44% say they feel stressed with their caring responsibilities.
</div>
<div>•	40% say it affects the time they can spend socialising with their friends
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is why we are jumping from a plane. These funds will go...
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>•	Towards helping these invisible young people feel seen and heard.
</div>
<div>Providing essential life skill classes such as cooking and first aid.
</div>
<div>•	Giving these children the opportunity to be children by planning fun enrichment days.
</div>
<div>•	Running weekly after school clubs to help them develop important social skills.
</div>
<div>•	providing a variety of opportunities during the school holidays so that they can have some respite from their caring responsibilities.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>LCitC core values are to inspires, engage, and empower through togetherness respect and pride.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Each week we will share a short profile on each of use and why we are doing the jumping from the plane malarky. Please donate if you can, share with colleagues, friends and help raise funds for our Young Carers.

Help raise funds to support children who are Young Carers

Dina Rickman

<div>After the extreme heat we've all experienced over the last week, it's clear how much a cooler environment can make a difference. As summer temperatures continue to rise, keeping classrooms comfortable is becoming more important than ever to help children learn at their best. We're raising funds to purchase mobile air conditioning units for Martin Primary School to provide a cooler, more comfortable learning environment during periods of hot weather. When classrooms are kept at a comfortable temperature, children are better able to concentrate, stay engaged with their lessons, and feel more comfortable throughout the school day. It also helps reduce tiredness and supports both pupils and staff during warmer conditions. Mobile air conditioning units are a practical and flexible solution, allowing classrooms to stay cool when temperatures soar. They'll help ensure pupils can continue learning in comfort, even during heatwaves, and make a positive difference to everyone's school day. Every donation, no matter the size, will help us reach our goal. By working together as a school community, we can make Martin Primary an even more comfortable place for our children to learn and thrive.
</div>
<div>Thank you for supporting MHSA'S "Cool for School" appeal—every contribution will help keep our classrooms cool and our children focused on learning.
